You’ve gotta love the Peanut Butter and Jelly spec on a great car. Combine with the peanut buttery smoothness of Cognac leather with grape-like Audi’s Velvet Purple and you have an incredible car for fans of purple specifications.
This RS 6 is also a performance, with matte black finish on its Y-spoke alloys, Executive Package, Driver Assistance Package, Interior Protection Package, RS Sprot exhaust, Night Vision Assistant and Ceramic Brakes with Red Calipers.
Sort of the opposite of that line from Field of Dreams, McLaren Special Operations exists in a world of If you come we will build it. Understandably, this can take the form of an infinite number of different Tailored Drivers, so it makes our life a bit more difficult. Take this Satin Urban Green 765LT for example- we simply can’t find a color code, nor can we find another example of MSO painting a car this color. Search after search only returns this exact car wearing different wheels. Now, we can surmise that MSO borrowed an existing color, likely BMW’s Urban Green, and applied it lovingly with a satin clear final stage, and called it a day. If that is indeed the case, then paint code goes from unknown to a variation of the “YA04” that we’ve seen before and is linked above.
So here we are, exactly where we find ourselves with many McLaren finds, wondering what the precise code is. It’s admittedly at times a frustrating endeavor, but as Tailored Driver grows we want to catalog and feature builds such as these to provide equal parts reference and inspiration. For now, place this MSO build in that bucket. We can’t wait to see how you interpret it with your very own Tailored Driver.
What: 2010 Audi S4 Color: Audi exclusive Nogaro Blue(nogaroblau; pearl effect UNI; Z5M; Audi) VIN: WAUMGAFLXAA152848 Mileage: 116,100 miles Price: Auction CarFax:Link Window Sticker: N/A Location: Poway, CA Dealer Listing:Cars and Bids
If you’ve been an Audi fan for a while, chances are that when the Four Rings replaced the iconic Nogaro Blue with Sprint Blue for the B7 generation of S4 and RS 4 you questioned the decision. And when the B8 launched with Sprint as well, it became apparent that Audi wasn’t going back to the Nogaro well any longer, but at the time Audi exclusive was simply not widely known as a path to right that wrong. As such, we’re led to believe that the original Tailor of this S4 was a tried and true brand evangelist who put their money where their mouth was. By pairing Nogaro with a 6 speed transmission, finished with alcantara-centered black leather seats and brushed aluminum interior trim, this S4 harkens back to the prior generations in many ways. The only remaining question is- will others take note of just how special this S4 is, or will it fall squarely into budget commuter territory? Follow along with the auction on Cars and Bids to find out.
What: 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Color: Pastel Yellow (non-metallic UNI; Q1; Porsche) VIN: WP0AA2991WS321041 Mileage: 29,206 miles Price: $275,000 CarFax:Link Window Sticker: N/A Location: Holt Motorsports, West Chester, PA Dealer Listing:PCarMarket
Green on yellow was a thing for a hot minute amongst some cars in the 1970s. Outside of that moment in history, it is a unique and acquired taste sort of decision. No doubt polarizing, we have equally no doubt that such a combination on a rare and low mileage 993-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4S would be treasured by the right buyer.
If you’re that right buyer, you’re definitely going to want to take a closer look at this.
What: 2025 BMW M5 Sedan Color: BMW Individual Ruby Star Neo (non-metallic UNI; P9L; BMW) VIN: WBS83FK01SCU62507 Mileage: delivery Price: $136,125 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: BMW of Cincinnati North, Cincinnati, OH Dealer Listing:Link
It may have begun as a Porsche Carrera Cup color of the 964 era, but Ruby Star has been a popular choice for BMW Individual for a very long time. Yes, it’s polarizing, but this hot pink is also impossible to miss. It’s a bold choice, particularly for what looks like part of the new car inventory at BMW of Cincinnati North.
It’s paired here with partial Silverstone Grey and black interior that is also very handsome. Option packages include M Carbon Exterior Package, Executive Package, Driving Assistance Professional Package, M Drive Professional and Carbon Fiber Silver Thread High Glass Trim.
What: 2018 Audi RS 5 Coupe Color: Audi exclusive Riviera Blue(rivierablau; non-metallic Uni; LP3G; Audi) VIN: WUAPWAF50JA905228 Mileage: 62,150 Price: $45,950 CarFax: Link Window Sticker: N/A Location: Murfreesboro, TN Listing: Auto Collection of Murfreesboro
Riviera Blue has been covered here before, and for good reason- it’s a wildly popular bright blue that genuinely looks incredible when applied to all brands covered by Tailored Driver. Seen here on a 2018 Audi RS 5 with a tasteful yet subtle feature on it’s Brake Calipers as well, this Tailored Driver also features several unknown modifications. 034 Motorsport’s strut tower brace is seen under-hood, as is an MTM badge on the rear trunk lid. Our guess is the brand’s performance software, but both brand names – 034 and MTM – should pique the interest of any true Audi aficionado. We’d be remiss to not also mention the lower ride height, although it’s unclear who provided the drop.
What: 2018 Volvo V90 T5 R Design Color: Black Olive (schwarzolive; non-metallic Uni; 2A7; Porsche) VIN: N/A Mileage: 90,311 miles Price: $29,900 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: Lake Forest, CA Link: Facebook Marketplace
We don’t typically feature repainted cars on this site, because the technical focus is the factory tailors or the remasters. Still, every once in a while, a redone car comes along that captures our attention. This Volvo V90 in Porsche Black Olive seems to qualify.
When it comes to Volvo, we’re pretty sure they don’t have a factory tailor program. Back in the P2 S60R / V70R era, I’d inquired if one could deviate from their standard R colors wanting a simple white that would have still stood out from the few colors offered. The answer was that something like this was possible so long as the color was offered in Europe. Whether that still holds today I don’t know, but the V70R wasn’t offered in white in Europe either.
It’s safe to say that Europe also doesn’t offer Porsche paint colors. Even still, Porsche Black Olive is an excellent color that looks incredible on a Volvo V90. Beyond that, the listing says it was taken down to the shell with all panels and glass removed before the repaint. Photos of the whole process were taken and can be provided.
Inside, the owner added “Porsche tartan” plaid to the seats as well.
Worth noting, the car has some aftermarket parts on it including wheels, Maxton body kit and rear spoiler, an upgraded audio system and more. If you’re seeking bone stock or OEM condition then this may not be your car. That said, if you’re seeking a very unique long roof, we suspect you’ll be very interested in this one.
What: 2025 Audi RS 6 performance Color: Audi exclusive Nogaro Blue(nogaroblau; pearl effect UNI; Z5M; Audi) VIN: WUA1DBF22SN907435 Mileage: delivery Price: $151,295 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: See Gallery Location: Audi of Birmingham, Birmingham, AL Listing: Audi of Birmingham / Facebook
We’re always fans of dealer sales staff getting notice out to enthusiasts ahead of cars coming available via the usual dealership methods like pushing to the dealer website, AutoTrader or the like. In this case, it’s Audi Birmingham’s David Guerzon posting early pre-PDI shots of an Audi exclusive RS 6 performance in Nogaro Blue.
Other options confirmed by Guerzon are Matte Carbon Package, Executive Package, Driver Assistance Package, RS Sport Exhaust and Red Brake Calipers. He also shares in that post that the car will be sold for sticker without dealer markup.
If you reach out to Audi of Birmingham, ask for David Guerzon and thank him for posting it early for the rest of us.
What: 2021 Audi TT RS Color: Audi exclusive Racing Blue Mica(racingblau; metallic UNI; MXYEWWA; Audi) VIN: Unknown Mileage: 34,500 miles Price: $68,500 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: Bennington, NE Listing:Facebook Marketplace
It’s been our experience that Audi TT owners are simply a different type of enthusiast. While it may be dismissed by the uninformed as a less-than, there simply is not a more dedicated, more committed, and more frankly nerdy bunch of fans out there. Sure 911s have a similar group behind them, but that car benefits from a cool factor that’s nearly ubiquitous. TT enthusiasm requires a quiet confidence, and an ability to regularly answer questions that with a 911 no one bothers to ask.
So it makes sense then, that this Tailored Driver also goes above and beyond with a dedication that only the most astute Tailor would posses. Incredibly uncommon on US soil, Racing Blue Mica was chosen here, likely as a result of it’s popularity in Europe- something a real fan of the four rings would pick up on. But it’s the Audi exclusive Ocean Blue partial leather that really gets us going. Plucked from the original TT and briefly featured in special edition TTs, this interior becomes an incredibly special place, further elevated by matching door card inserts, the steering wheel’s center stripe, and stitching.
The seller claims this is a one-of-one, and we don’t doubt that for a moment. Shame, really.
What: 2024 Ferrari 296 GTS Color:Verde Medio(verdemedio; metallic UNI; 19400 M; Ferrari) VIN: ZFF01SMA6R0300684 Mileage: 41 Price: $485,611 CarFax:Link Window Sticker: N/A Location: Ferrari San Diego, San Diego, CA Listing:Ferrari San Diego
Unexpected and tasteful may be the perfect storm when it comes to a fine tailored car. Take this 2024 Ferrari 296 GTS that’s in stock at Ferrari San Diego. Though a Ferrari color, Verde Medio Metallic is a medium green not far off from Aston Martin Racing Green.
Okay, perhaps a 296 GTS, even one costing $485,611 may be a bit less legendary than the three cars listed above, but this is still a phenomenal specification. Verde Medio looks amazing with the light Pelle Bianco leather. The whole car look just works, so we dedicate a golf clap to whomever created the specification… and we’re left scratching our head how one might add such a car to their garage and only log 41 miles. Whatever, that’s more miles for the next owner I suppose.
