Singer Presents Turbocharged Coupe, Targa and Cabriolet Restorations

Personalization Allows Owners to Restore Their Preferred Body Style through Singer’s Classic Turbo Services

    [source: Singer Vehicle Design]

Los Angeles, CA – Singer highlighted the extent of its collaboration with owners through a Family Portraitshowing four Porsche 911s reimagined to reflect individual preferences for coupe, slantnose coupe, targa and cabriolet cars.

Singer Founder and Executive Chairman, Rob Dickinson said:

The 911 Turbo was launched fifty years ago. Since then it has been a poster child, autobahn hero and race winner, loved by drivers and enthusiasts around the world. We’re excited to be collaborating with owners to celebrate this icon of road and track and to wish the turbocharged 911 a very happy birthday.

Every restoration begins with the owner’s Porsche 911. Singer’s services reflect the personalization requested by each owner as they reimagine their car around the Type 964 chassis. Only 25 allocations for slantnose coupe restorations were available, and all are spoken for.

Restored cars are powered by an evolution of their original Mezger flat-six engines. Twin turbochargers with variable turbine geometry and air-water intercooling boost output to 510HP. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission, with the help of traction control and electronic stability control developed with Bosch, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres. Every owner tailors the character of their car toward sports or grand touring-focused driving as they wish.

The RSR Project Reveals Ultra-Lightweight RSR Carrera 911 Reimagined for Daily Driving with Iconic Gulf Blue Colorway

Commissions Starting at $375,000The RSR Project Channels Ethos of Lightweight Design with Newly Presented 1986 Custom Build

    [source: The RSR Project]

BEDFORD HILLS, NY – The RSR Project is intensely focused on honoring the illustrious seventies racing style of Porsche in all of the company’s custom builds inspired by the very same era. Newly presented, The RSR Project proudly unveils another delightfully analogue one-of-a-kind restoration and modification of a 1986 Porsche channeled into an absolutely stunning Gulf Blue (gulfblau; non-metallic / non-metallic UNI; 328; Porsche) 911 custom paying homage to the iconic 1973 RennSport Rennwagen (RSR). Starting at $375,000, the new 235-hp 1986 Gulf Blue 911 from RSR Project is made for daily driving and unlike many restorations, meant to be used by clients for enjoying the open road.

Starting life as a 1986 911, the latest highlighted RSR Project build features a 3.4L engine upgraded from the original vehicle’s 3.2L, significantly increasing overall power output to 235-hp. The additional horsepower and performance is specially designed by RSR Project to mirror the uniquely raw, crisp experience found behind the wheel of an original RSR classic. RSR Project also concisely integrates a host of other body modifications to further reduce vehicle weight.

While original RSR 911 iterations regularly sell at auctions for millions of dollars, RSR Project presents clients with a reimagined car that is meant to be driven in the same captivating style and sublime on-road driving experience as the classic. First conceived in 1973 as the absolute apex of the Stuttgart factory’s incredible engineering prowess, the lightweight RSR cars historically built a reputation as being the cars to beat in global racing challenges on track and off, including the 24-Hours of Le Mans. Literally translated from German “RennSport Rennwagen” to English “Racing Sport Racing car,” RSR cars became the alpha version of Porsche’s venerated 911 series.

“I actually started RSR Project to build a custom for myself. As soon as enthusiasts and collectors took a look at my finished car out on the road, many wanted one for themselves. My background is in operations and manufacturing, so my professional skill set has served RSR Project well as more and more clients commission cars with us,” comments Richard Schickman, Founder of The RSR Project. “Original RSR cars are almost impossible to find these days, and if a collector does manage to procure one, they seldom drive it. Inversely, RSR Project builds cars that are made to be driven. While many companies strive to make classic cars into something decidedly modern, RSR Project recaptures the original essence of the RSR in a period correct way that better suits drivers today. RSR Project cars are not for everyone, but driving purists that know the original car can come to us.”

RSR Project starts every commission by sourcing a donor body from a vehicle dated between 1984 – 1989. Porsches from this era were built with galvanized bodies preventing many from rusting even decades later. The approach allows RSR Project to streamline the conversion process, as there are less differences in body and interior styling from that era than with newer nineties renditions of the 911. Following a complete disassembly of the donor vehicle, RSR Project deletes all superfluous vehicle features including the original factory electric windows and electric seats to reduce overall vehicle weight to the absolute minimum.

Clients have the option of a subtly integrated A/C unit, but the Gulf Blue client opted to go without this upgrade to keep the car even more nimble. RSR Project further reduced weight by removing the car’s front and rear impact bumpers and front and rear metal deck lids. Clients can also reduce further weight by having RSR Project integrate a special aluminum hood. RSR Project also introduces a special ducktail spoiler to reimagine the beautiful silhouette of the original vehicle.

The RSR Project takes a minimalist approach to the cabin, lining the contours of the saloon in ultra-lightweight Perlon carpet and vinyl appearing throughout the headliner, dashboard, and door panels. While many restoration specialists introduce opulent interior customizations, RSR Project instead focuses on recapturing the spartan, race-ready essence of the original. The new 1986 RSR Project custom includes the classic RS door panels alongside original styled seats, which are swathed in super-premium leather and Scottish Tartan. A vintage dashboard is integrated along with fully updated new gauges, and a WEVO racing-style shifter. RSR Project also offers a roll-cage option for safety.
RSR Project engine modifications include the installation of race spec cams, which introduce aggressive lift and duration profiles to optimize airflow and power at high RPMs. Additionally, RSR Project fine-tunes the ECU with a Steve Wong Chip (SW Chip), resulting in improved throttle response, increased horsepower, and enhanced overall engine performance. To further boost the engine’s capabilities, RSR Project has increased the engine displacement from 3.2 liters to 3.4 liters. This increases displacement, combined with the high-performance camshafts and custom ECU tuning, delivers a smoother, more powerful driving experience that exhilarates.

RSR Project engines are comprehensively rebuilt and detailed to factory-new condition with clients having the option between 3.2L, 3.4L or 3.5L engine formats. Additional engine appointments can include stock, PMO or custom fuel injection. All gaskets and rubber on board each engine is fully replaced, making each customized build absolutely brand new inside and out. Clients have the option to choose between the original single-piston factory brakes or upgraded four-piston brakes with sharper stopping power. The new RSR Project 1986 Gulf Blue build features upgraded four-piston brakes engineered for improved on-road driving dynamics. The vehicle’s suspension is also completely rebuilt with new Bilstein shocks and bushings with Braid wheels (11×15 in rear and 9×15 in front) wearing sticky Michelin TB-15 tires.

Prior to each vehicle delivery, every RSR Project car is thoroughly road tested and shaken-down to rigorous standards to ensure the highest expectations of quality and performance. Commissions for a bespoke RSR Project car now start at $375,000 with vehicle delivery typically taking 12 – 18 months. To learn more about The RSR Project, please visit www.thersrproject.com.

    • The four launches, one to mark each decade, are the first from RML Group’s four new dedicated divisions: Motorsport; Engineering; Power; and Bespoke

    [source: RML Group]

Wellingborough, Northampton, UK – RML Group Ltd, the UK’s leading high-performance automotive engineering specialist, today marks its 40th year of engineering excellence with the unveiling of four new innovative products.

The first, from the Motorsport division, builds on all of the company’s multi-championship winning experience to create an all-new track day car. Codenamed P40, the ultra-lightweight, super-safe race car uses Formula 1-inspired aerodynamic technology to reach new levels of speed and handling for track-day cars.

The second, produced by RML Group’s Engineering department, is a Le Mans Hypercar-influenced Porsche 911-based project that will extend the car’s speed and handling capabilities well beyond standard, while maintaining full reliability. Known internally at RML as P39, the upgrade package is designed to work across the 911 range and includes a list of options to enhance both engine and aero performance.

Third on the list, from the company’s Power division, is RML’s high-performance VarEVolt battery module. Having proven itself around the Nurburgring, the proprietary battery technology is now being installed as a key component in a number of supercars, including a current Goodwood FoS record holder.

Rounding off the Group’s 40th anniversary product portfolio, the Bespoke department has drawn heavily on both its storied road and race history with Aston Martin to create a SuperClassic version of the original V8 Vantage. The carbon-bodied car retains all of the original’s muscular design cues but pairs them with 21st century mechanicals to create one of the world’s finest and most capable grand tourers.

“RML Group has achieved an enormous amount in the previous 40 years, we are still focused squarely on the future as these product launches show,” said third-generation CEO, Michael Mallock. “I am excited to bring all of these new high-performance products to market. They are just the beginning of a long product pipeline for us. I look forward to sharing more details on each soon.”

RML Group was founded in 1984 by Michael Mallock’s father, Ray, a successful single-seater and sportscar racer.  Under his leadership the business specialised in championship-winning motorsport and precision automotive engineering.

Today, RML Group has expanded to meet the diverse needs of the automotive industry, having recently announced the appointment of former Lotus and Bentley senior executive, Paul Dickinson, to lead operations and drive growth.

From short-run manufacturing projects to continuation cars, from innovative mould-breaking racing cars to cutting-edge ultra-performance battery packs, the company has never strayed from its founding principle of Engineering Excellence.

    [source: Gemballa]

The series production of the limited-edition MARSIEN by Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH (not associated in any form with Gemballa GmbH) is running at full speed. The super car, limited to just 40 units, is being delivered to clients in more than sixteen countries around the globe. The MARSIEN is all terrain capable, suitable for everyday use, technology focused and futuristic in appearance designed by French Porsche aficionado Alan Derosier. It embodies the entrepreneur’s vision of creating holistic and timeless masterpieces that tell a story and go far beyond the scope of the traditional tuning business.

MADE FOR THE EXTREMES: THE MARSIEN WAS TESTED UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS –
FROM THE ARABIAN DESERT, NÜRBURGRING NORDSCHLEIFE ALL THE WAY TO THE GLACIERS OF AUSTRIA
Legendary engineers who have made vehicles competition-ready for the 24 Hours of Le Mans and other races were involved in the development of the MARSIEN and the 422 specially developed components from bespoke double wishbone suspension, titanium exhaust system, along with own taillights, wiring loom, which took several thousand hours of engineering and design. The MARSIEN’s full carbon fiber body consisting of more than 80 single carbon fiber components that mastered bullet tests, the homologation of the taillights and the vehicle as a whole, to only name a few major tests passed in the process of gaining road approval.

In order to put MARSIEN through its paces, Marc Philipp Gemballa and his team travelled to Scandinavia, where it was -20 degrees Celsius, drove up the glacier in Sölden, Austria and covered 3,000 km on the Nordschleife as part of the industry pool drives for homologation. The sizzling desert in the United Arab Emirates with temperatures in excess of 50 degrees Celsius was also part of the rigorous testing. It was there, in the Al-Faya desert in the Emirate of Sharjah, that the name MARSIEN was born. The red desert sand combined with the unparalleled mountain landscape took the test team’s breath away. “We felt like we were on Mars,” Marc Philipp Gemballa recalls. The surroundings were reminiscent of the red planet, and the conditions on site made the super car feel right at home – after all, it was made precisely for such extreme conditions. Hence the name MARSIEN, derived from the French word “Martian” or “from Mars”.

    CUTTING EDGE SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGY
As one of the key technological highlights, MARSIEN features a completely bespoke double wishbone suspension setup developed by the engineers responsible for countless rally, GT and special series’ suspensions. The suspension system consisting of more than 30 individual components milled from solid aluminum, implements extensive changes to the chassis of the base vehicle and is equipped with KW Automotive solid piston damper technology featuring an intelligent active damper control as well as an adjustable ride height system for on and off-road use. As part of the special options program, the suspension components can be anodized in gold according to the client’s wishes.

The adjustable ride height system of the MARSIEN enables an electronically controlled hydraulic lift system to increase the ground clearance to an unprecedented ride height of 250 mm. This enables the MARSIEN to deliver the ultimate on- and off-road driving experience, performing in terrain that no other super car can dream of.

An automatic tire pressure system has been integrated into the frunk of the MARSIEN, allowing the driver to adjust the tire pressure to the requirements of any given terrain on the go by inflating or deflating the tire and enhancing the off-road performance.

SPECIALLY DESIGNED FORGED ALUMINUM WHEEL SETS FOR ON- AND OFF-ROAD USE
For perfect driving conditions both on- and off-road, the MARSIEN comes with two specially designed forged aluminum wheel sets with center locking system, running on Michelin Ultra High Performance (UHP) tires for on-road and Grabber AT 3 All Terrain tires for off-road use. Optionally clients can specify their MARSIEN with an even more road-focused Lightweight GT wheel set, further enhancing on-road performance. The Lightweight GT wheel set of the launch vehicle has been painted in a triple layer pearlescent white reminiscent of the exterior launch color of the MARSIEN prototype specification, while the off-road wheel set has been painted in a deep navy-blue matte finish. Both wheel sets are equipped with wheel caps in 24-carat gold featuring the G crest.

    FULL CARBON FIBER EXTERIOR
The MARSIEN features a full carbon fiber exterior consisting of more than 85 individual carbon fiber components including air channels, wing mirrors, wheel arch liners and a rear panel that reaches all the way from the A-pillar to the rear wing. The MARSIEN exterior has been exclusively designed for performance, light weight and cooling and achieves a total weight reduction of 50 kilograms compared to the standard Porsche 992 Turbo S base vehicle. Each body panel is manufactured by leading German carbon fiber specialists who also supply leading OEMs, sportscar manufacturers and several Formula One teams.

MARSIEN owners can specify the contrast elements of the exterior such as the lower front splitter, side skirts, wing mirrors, air channels, as well as the exhaust frame and rear diffuser in exposed carbon fiber as part of the special options program. For those that like to go beyond, there is also the option to have a fully exposed carbon fiber exterior. All exposed carbon fiber components can be specified in gloss or matte and optionally in tinted carbon finish.

    EXTRAORDINARY EXTERIOR PAINTWORK
The exterior paintwork is applied by a state-of-the-art and certified paint studio that is able to fulfil the most daring customer color requests. For the specification of the series launch vehicle, an elaborate one-off four- layer blue pearlescent exterior color with special metallic flakes has been created, which changes the color of the vehicle according to the direction of the light and angle of view. The color requires extensive preparation of the bodywork and was inspired by the polar caps on Mars and has therefore been named MARSIEN Glacier Blue.

    BESPOKE REAR LIGHT TECHNOLOGY
The MARSIEN rear design features a completely bespoke rear light that has been developed in collaboration with light specialist GERG Lighthouse. The manufacturing technology for the MARSIEN’s rear light has also been utilized for the European missile defense system Meteor and represents an integral part of the iconic design of the MARSIEN.

    MAKING INTERIOR DREAMS COME TRUE
The interior of the MARSIEN also features several specifically designed elements. The center console has been lifted and equipped with an aluminum gear stick inspired by the legendary CGT, allowing for a sportier, more analog driving experience. It can be optionally fitted with a gear knob in carbon or mahogany instead of leather or Alcantara. As part of the special options program, clients can specify the carbon fiber interior package, adding further exposed carbon fiber elements to the driver’s cabin. Furthermore, clients have the option to add a club sport roll bar behind the seats of their MARSIEN that can be painted in color of choice, or finished in leather, Alcantara, or exposed carbon fiber. Finally, the metal badge displaying the individual production number of the limited series of just 40 pieces is embedded in the center console – lending a special touch to the cabin.

The interior specification of the launch vehicle has been finished in a navy blue Alcantara combined with interior accent elements in ice blue for the stitching, seat belts, door lashes, and instrument dials matching the MARSIEN Glacier Blue exterior paint. Matching the navy blue Alcantara, the interior is equipped with carbon fiber accents as well as an exposed carbon fiber roll bar finished in tinted blue. All badges and model designations have been finished in 24-carat gold on the launch vehicle specification.

    POWERED BY INDUSTRY LEADING PARTNERS
Besides the technological partnership with suspension specialist KW Automotive for the damper system, Marc Philipp Gemballa teamed up with other renown industry leading partners.

The engine upgrade powered by RUF enables the six-cylinder boxer engine to deliver over 750 horsepower and 930 Newton meters of torque. For clients that are looking for even more power, there is a second stage power upgrade that takes the horsepower up to 830 with enhanced VTG turbo chargers and a revised ECU mapping and transmission setting.

BMC, the air filter specialist based in Italy, has developed special engine air filters that are specifically for dusty desert conditions. While protecting the engine from dust and foreign particles, it maintains a sufficient flow of fresh air to allow the engine to work optimally.

For the MARSIEN sound, Marc Philipp Gemballa partnered with the leading performance exhaust manufacturer Akrapovič to exclusively develop an entirely new titanium exhaust system for the MARSIEN, focusing on a bespoke sound experience, light weight and further increasing the power output of the upgraded RUF boxer engine.

    EVERY MARSIEN IS ONE-OF-ONE
Every MARSIEN is a unique piece, a true one-of-one, designed and built to each client’s dream specification. MARSIEN is meticulously crafted down to the last detail, even the most daring client wishes can be realized, from creating an one-off exterior color that could be matched to their partners favorite handbag, badges and model designation finished in 24k gold, bespoke interiors with the finest selection of materials to a fully exposed carbon fiber exterior that could even be specified in a tinted carbon finish. Each MARSIEN owner has made extensive use of the special options program ensuring to create their very own one-of-one MARSIEN.

MARSIEN ON DISPLAY – FROM LAKE COMO TO THE FRENCH RIVIERA
The MARSIEN series production vehicle was first presented as part of the up and coming Fuori Concorso event at Lake Como from 24-26 May for its European debut.

The French Riviera around Cap Ferrat and Monaco served as the location for the photoshoot of the MARSIEN series production vehicle captured by Oskar Bakke. “This place is special to me since I spent a lot of time here during my childhood and used to visit Monaco every year with my father for the Grand Prix and several automobile shows presenting his newest creations,” Marc Philipp Gemballa remembers.

Based in Abingdon, UK, near the original MG workshop, Frontline’s dedication to high-performance, analogue sports cars ensures the essence of the beloved British marque continues to thrive in the modern day.

Tim Fenna, Founder and Chief Engineer of Frontline, said: “Attending Monterey Car Week has been a dream for us for many years. There’s a deep appreciation for classic British sports cars in America, as well as big V8 engines, and we’re excited to bring our car to this passionate audience.

Goodwood, UK – Evoluto Automobili is proud to introduce the new 355 by Evoluto®. Delivering a significant advancement in driving dynamics, light-weighting and engineering quality. The re-engineered Italian icon combines a Peak Analogue® driving experience with exceptional design, state-of-the-art technology, and indulgent luxury all brought together through an OEM standard engineering programme.

The 355 by Evoluto® represents a new era in the realm of bringing automotive classics back to life, distinguishing itself through a design and re-engineering process usually reserved for an OEM-grade new product engineering programme, a first in this sector. With a level of sophistication typically reserved for major luxury automotive brands. This meticulous process ensures that every aspect of the 355 by Evoluto®—from its enhanced performance and reliability to its cutting-edge technology and luxurious design—meets the highest standards of quality and precision, setting a new benchmark for excellence.

Evoluto’s bespoke automotive services are applied to one of the most iconic supercars of the 90’s. Beginning with a customer-supplied Ferrari 355, serving as the donor car, each commission undergoes a personalised journey, meticulously disassembled to its core chassis, thoroughly assessed, cleaned, strengthened with carbon fusing, and prepared for the next stages of customisation.

The enhancements honour the legacy of the legendary Italian supercar while integrating cutting-edge advancements that propel it into the future of high-emotion driving.

    Carbon Fusing – Remarkable Composure:
The 355 by Evoluto® is a ground up commission that begins with the core integrity of the donor chassis. Through an extensive torsional rigidity study, a comprehensive carbon fusing programme is implemented, achieving a remarkable 23% increase in overall torsional stiffness. This enhancement ensures that all critical hard points on the chassis are fortified and chassis flex is minimised, providing a robust foundation for the enhanced driving dynamics Evoluto® aimed to achieve.

Performance  Elevated Power and 21st Century Reliability:
The 355 by Evoluto® is engineered to offer an extraordinary blend of increased performance and 21st century reliability. The soul of the car is the naturally aspirated flat plane crank V8 engine, now delivering an impressive 420hp, revving up to 8,500rpm. With over 200 new and redesigned engine components, the thoroughly reworked powertrain provides increased power, response and 21stcentury reliability.

Upgrades include an all new engine management system and Evoluto® bespoke tuning. Evoluto’s new coil-on-plug ignition solution improves performance by delivering precise ignition timing, stronger spark energy, increased fuel efficiency and 21st century reliability through direct control of each cylinder’s ignition. The result is an explosive throttle response and an enhanced connection between engine and driver.

The original engine is distinguished by its use of a quill shaft; a notable feature that connects the engine to the transmission, enabling a more compact and efficient design. The upgraded engine enhances this concept with a proprietary Evoluto® designed quill shaft, which reduces vibration, provides 21st century reliability through thermal optimisation, and improves engine performance by a more efficient transfer of power.

Furthermore, Evoluto’s fully CNC ported head with larger inlet valves enhances engine performance by improving airflow and combustion efficiency, leading to increased power output and better thermal management. These upgrades also contribute to 21st century reliability by reducing mechanical stress and ensuring consistent, high-quality performance.

As one of the best sounding Italian supercars – Evoluto® has paid particular attention to both the acoustic and performance attributes of an all new light-weight titanium sports exhaust system. Equal length headers improve performance by ensuring exhaust gases from each cylinder arrive at the collector at evenly spaced intervals, enhancing exhaust flow and reducing back pressure. This leads to more consistent cylinder pressure, balanced power output, and improved engine breathing. The result is increased horsepower and torque, especially at higher RPMs, along with optimised engine tuning and an emotional acoustic profile.

Additionally, Evoluto® has developed solid cam lifters coupled to a bespoke inlet camshaft, that increase performance by enabling higher RPM stability and delivering precise, consistent power. This enhancement further increases power output and responsiveness and the ability to fine-tune the engine’s performance to match Evoluto’s target driving characteristics.

The engine enhancements are designed not just for more power, but also to deliver 21st century reliability, making the car both a joy to drive and a reliable companion on any journey.

    Optimised Weight and Handling:
With a target weight of 1250kg, the 355 by Evoluto® promises exceptional agility and responsiveness. Each donor Ferrari 355 is subject to extensive strengthening of the chassis through strategic application of carbon bracing and fusing in key areas of the platform. Additionally, the carbon fibre body panels significantly reduce weight while enhancing stiffness, contributing to the 23% improvement in torsional rigidity. The material choice ensures hard points critical to the vehicle’s dynamics and suspension tuning are improved for enhanced handling and stability.

    New Electronic Architecture:
The 355 by Evoluto® features an entirely new wiring and electronic architecture developed in-house, this comprehensive overhaul of the wiring harness delivers numerous benefits, including 21stcentury reliability and improved performance. The Evoluto® proprietary design ensures optimal power distribution and communication between the car’s systems, reducing the risk of electrical failures and increasing overall efficiency. Additionally, the streamlined architecture simplifies maintenance and upgrades, offering easier access for diagnostics and repairs.

    Reworked Transmission and Advanced Braking:
In-line with targeting the ‘Peak Analogue®’ driving experience, the importance of transmission refinement, weight, and feel was paramount in the development of the Evoluto® driving experience. Particular focus was applied to the tactility of the reworked 6-speed manual gearbox, intended to make every gear shift an occasion, delivering an engaging connection between car and driver while offering precise control over the car’s performance.

As standard, Brembo GT 6 Piston slotted discs are fitted at the front with 4 piston callipers at the rear together with uprated Brembo pads, lines and performance fluids. Optional carbon CCMR brakes are available offering stunning stopping power and minimise brake fade, ensuring consistent performance even under the most demanding conditions. These upgrades ensure the 355 by Evoluto® can handle the increased power and speed with confidence while contributing to performance closer in line with contemporary supercars.

Wheels and Tyres – Grip and Slip:
During the development of the car, one of the most crucial attributes was maintaining a playful nature. It was essential to have enough grip in reserve to instil confidence when driving at high speeds, while also allowing the ability to break traction and explore the dynamics of the revised chassis in environments suitable for sliding. Therefore, the choice of wheel and tire size, along with the tire compound and purpose, was imperative. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires were selected for their road-biased compound, fitted to custom forged alloys—19 inches at the front and rear, 235/35/19 and 305/30/19 fitment, respectively. The result is an ideal balance of speed and playfulness, providing maximum enjoyment in all conditions.

    Bolder by Design:
The interior and exterior of the 355 by Evoluto® is created by famed design team at Callum Designs. True to the original ethos of the iconic Italian supercar, the exterior design is a balanced expression of power and beauty, integrating the heritage of the classic Ferrari 355 while showcasing proportions suggestive of a modern interpretation of the icon supercar.

The remastered design features a more muscular physique to signify the power that lies beneath, with an increase in track width enhancing its stance. The all-new front-end design includes larger and deeper cooling intakes and a re-shaped front splitter, framed by new LED pop-up headlights with a distinctive new DRL signature and intricate surface detailing. The wide-track stance is complemented by standard-fit 19-inch forged alloy wheels at the front and 19-inch at the rear, new wing mirrors improve the aerodynamic profile of the car, while new flush-fitting door release mechanisms welcome occupants into the ultra-luxurious cabin.

For customers looking to put their own stamp on the 355 by Evoluto®, endless possibilities for personalisation are available. Customers are invited to take a unique personal commissioning journey, from selecting distinguishing details to custom paint and interior options. The Evoluto®  design team offers endless possibilities to create a true one-of-a-kind commission.

  • Championship-Winning Pedigree Comes to Road with Latest TAG Model by Lanzante

Championship-Winning Pedigree Comes to Road with Latest TAG Model by Lanzante

    [source: Lanzante]

In less than six weeks, British automotive engineering specialists Lanzante will pull the covers off the ultimate celebration of Formula 1 performance for the road. The TAG Championship by Lanzante. The lightweight model marries the iconic Porsche 930 Turbo body shape with the ultimate motorsport powerplant, in a specially designed and engineered collection of just three cars. The first of these will debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Stripped back to the bare essentials, the TAG Championship models are built to celebrate the three back-to-back titles achieved by McLaren during the dominant 1980s era, powered by Porsche-built, period TAG power units with genuine race heritage. Each of the three cars will be named by driver and year.

The Championship model is a further enhancement over the TAG Turbo by Lanzante, previously displayed at Goodwood Festival of Speed. This was a modern reimagining of the one-off car, originally built by McLaren, which coupled the 1980s Porsche 911 with a TAG-branded, Porsche-built, V6 twin turbo Formula 1 engine.

The TAG Championship by Lanzante honours the outrageous power and performance of the golden era of Formula 1, while utilising state-of-the-art motorsport technology and extensive use of carbon fibre helping to minimise weight. This crash diet sees the TAG Championship tip the scales at just 920kg – an impressive saving of more than 430kg over the original 930 Turbo donor car.

At its heart, each of the specially developed road legal models are fitted with a genuine Formula 1 engine. And not just any engine. The three cars are built with genuine race-used examples of the TAG TTE P01 1.5-litre V6 twin turbo, which claimed three consecutive world titles for McLaren with Niki Lauda and Alain Prost. The car being displayed – Championship ’85 – houses an engine raced across the 1984, ’85 and ’86 seasons, claiming two podiums for Alain Prost during 1985, when he took the first of his four world championship titles.

The 1980s period units have been reengineered and built by engine experts Cosworth, with all works certified by McLaren. Upgrades and enhancements include new pistons, conrods, valves and valve springs, revised cams, a new airbox, new cooling, a new exhaust system, and newly developed lightweight titanium turbos. These new turbo housings alone contribute 8kgs in weight saving.

The engineering changes have delivered a power unit that revs to 10,250rpm, increased power to 625hp, and a top speed of 200mph. Power is transferred to the road via a custom Porsche 993 six-speed gearbox with bespoke ratios.  Despite the upgrades, however, the TAG Championship has retained all of its driveability, running on regular fuel, and remains fully road legal.

The overall package of the Championship model is more focused towards the Formula 1 cars which they pay homage to, with subtle details across the interior and exterior. This is in contrast to the TAG Turbo by Lanzante model, which was closely matched to the original car built by McLaren.

With a stiffened Porsche 930 Turbo chassis at its core, the TAG Championship models feature extensive use of motorsport-borne technology. Body panels including the bonnet, doors, front wings, front splitter, roof, bumpers and rear wing are all formed from lightweight Formula 1-grade carbon fibre, the brakes have been upgraded to a bespoke, full carbon ceramic system, and an all-new Formula 1 wiring loom is now fitted, along with a new ECU from Cosworth.

Careful attention has also been paid to the finish of the bodywork. The paintwork has been carefully matched to the design of Prost’s 1985 helmet design, shown alongside the bare carbon finish, mirroring the style of the original MP4/2B racecar. Exposed carbon is now used for the large 1980’s-style bumpers, in place of the traditional rubber finish. Mirroring the original race car, the finished car sits on larger versions of the original racecar’s black wheels. Built by the Dymag, the same as the original versions, the 18-inch magnesium and carbon rims are now shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres.

Complete with rollcage, the stripped-out interior has removed several comfort features in the name of weight saving, including the electric mirrors and electric windows, while a lightweight climate control system has been installed. A pair of carbon-backed lightweight Recaro seats are complemented by BOSS-branded, black and white six-point harnesses. A Personal-branded, suede steering wheel, with white stitching, adds the finishing touch, echoing the title-winning MP4/2 racecars.
