There is definitely something about an Audi RS 6 Avant painted Audi exclusive Nogaro Blue. The color is iconic, and Audi’s having blocked it for years in order to protect the 25 RS Tribute Edition cars only amped demand for it. Nowadays, it can be ordered from Audi exclusive without any hinderance beyond the usual premium for the service.

Beyond that, whomever ordered this car definitely chose wisely on the spec. Things like RS Sport Suspension plus with Dynamic Ride Control, Bang & Olufsen 3D sounds, Night Vision Assistant, Ceramic Brakes with Grey calipers, Driver Assistance, Matte Carbon Package and Executive Package all make it highly optioned. Now, throw in the RS design package plus in blue that includes blue stitching throughout, blue seatbelts and blue flecked carbon and you have something really special.

Better yet, it’s new and ready for delivery.

Hat tip to Peter Stanek at the dealership who shared the car on Facebook with more of his own photos that are higher-resolution than that of the dealership website. Peter works at Audi of East Hartford, so we’d suggest you do him a solid and inquire with him directly. His information can be found via the Facebook link also listed above, or ask for him when you call the store.

  • Audi exclusive Design Package for New S5 American-Spec

Audi exclusive Design Package for New S5 American-Spec

In Europe, Audi has been making Audi exclusive design packages for a while now. Now it appears, beginning with the new S5 (B10), they’re making this sort of package available in the United States as well.

What’s an Audi exclusive design package? The formula is basically this: the Audi design department goes through the deeper Audi exclusive catalogue and creates a more tailored specification considered by the very talented staff that designed the car itself. Prepackaged and sold as a stand alone option, it is theoretically more affordable than ordering such a unique interior from them on your own.

That said, the additional price isn’t nothing. The Audi exclusive design package will add another $7,500 to the price of the car. Also, it’s only available if you go for a Prestige package (i.e. highest specification) S5. With those two items (Prestige + Audi exclusive design package) the MSRP is $78,845.

Check out the Audi exclusive design package in the U.S. configurator tool HERE.

Incidentally, the U.S. configurator tool doesn’t seem to have a specific description, so we took the liberty of checking the German configurator with the same interior pictured. We’re going to go ahead and include that description here. That said, please be aware that there are frequently market differences between U.S. and German models, so we’re including this more as a reference on the color and trim, but not as literally exact. If you’re interested in the Audi exclusive design package and have specific questions, ask your dealer for more information.

Kit cars as tailored drivers? We think the Meyers Manx qualifies. The team at Meyers Manx is bringing back the brand with some amazing products and plenty of special options to make tailored builds. On the other end of the spectrum, there are still individuals and dealers creating new builds of their own.

Take for example this fresh build listed on Cars and Bids. It’s a great mechanical spec paired with a beautiful exterior/interior combination of Big Sur Blue (unspecified source, but likely the standard color by the same name from Meyers Manx) and plaid seats. Seems like it’d make an excellent option for a Summer 2025 daily driver.

We can’t be mad at any dealer for trying, so when the private seller of this Tailored Driver says “the dealer had it set up to look like an RS“, we’ll go ahead and assume that includes the RS 6 badge found stuck to the rear tailgate. Moving past this easy to remove faux pas, this A6 allroad is a fairly handsome spec- Audi exclusive Nardo grey with black optic package and contrasting dark cladding. In a world where wagons- especially big wagons- are harder and harder to find without an AMG or RS badge, this could be your ticket to the Tailored Driver elite without the hefty insurance premium that often comes with.

One of our favorite current Porsche models in one of our favorite all-time Porsche Paint to Sample hues? Well alrighty then. The Macan GTS has been praised here before, and our Head of Social calls upon his for daily driver duties. In fact, it’s likely only a matter of time until we add another to the fleet, and we can only hope that second Macan GTS is this cool. Maritime’s history was covered here, and while the 964 Carrera RS is a better home for the color, we think this is an incredible way to stand out in the School pick-up line.

There’s a term “buy it built”. The idea is to let someone else build a car that you then swoop in and purchase once it’s resold as cars inevitably do. Case in point is this Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, ordered in a very unique specification, slightly modified and now for sale with not even 5,000 miles on the odometer.

The build itself from Porsche is Paint to Sample Nato Olive paired with Olea Club Leather in Truffle Brown. That’s already handsome, and is said to have run $167,200 on the original window sticker.

In addition to that, the car also has PPF and a ceramic window tint in order to help protect it. Also, it’s got a supposedly one-off set of ANRKY wheels with color-matched accents. And while an aftermarket wheel set might be hit or miss in the tailored market space, these are worth noting for their rear turbofan look that seems to mimic the Manthey Racing look being applied to many Porsche GT cars.

I’ll level with you here- I’m conflicted. This Tailored Driver was spec’d in the insanely tasteful Ferrari hue of Azzurro California, a color so choice that Porsche’s Club North America lifted it for use on their 50th Anniversary Club Coupe. Paired with alu-optic trim and the ‘small’ wheels, it’s restrained- so much so that it could easily be mistaken for an A5. But then we get to the interior. Magma Red was chosen for a reason, although I can’t quite figure out why. Fortunately, seats can be dyed or replaced. It’s also worth noting that CarMax is a sneaky player in the Tailored Driver game, and we’ve placed a few cars from their inventory into enthusiast hands. For those in the hunt, it may be worth adding CarMax to your rotation.

Rocketeer Cars with Reimagined Miata and More

    • Rocketeer Cars confirms successful conclusion of its recent funding round, bringing in new Investors and Advisors.
    • Investment demonstrates confidence in Rocketeer’s unique approach to delivering accessible RestoMods and sports cars.
    • Funding supports the development of two new world-class RestoBuild models to be launched in 2025, including the most extreme variant to date that’s designed to appeal to an entirely new sports car buyer.
    • Investment allows Rocketeer to enter the important US market to support substantial existing and growing demand.
    • Rocketeer ownership available through co-curated RestoBuild vehicles, Rocketeer-built Turnkey vehicles and self-build kits, with options from 280hp to 375hp from the Rocketeer 3.0-litre V6 engine.

    [source: Rocketeer Cars]

Hampshire, UK – Rocketeer Cars, manufacturers of the hand-built Rocketeer MXV6 RestoBuild sports cars, has announced the successful conclusion of its recent funding round, bringing new Investors and Advisors into the business to enhance its product offering and scaling its market presence.

The investment demonstrates external validation of the company’s progress, with more than 30 Turnkey and RestoBuild vehicles delivered, and over 150 self-build kits supplied to date. The company’s new investors are automotive enthusiasts and owners of several supercars and classic cars who, like Rocketeer, recognise the appeal of an old school analogue sports car but that uses the latest technology and materials in today’s niche automotive marketplace.

Rocketeer and its MXV6 RestoBuild sports car is a reaction to today’s modern supercars that have become faster, but more anodyne to drive, and whose limits cannot be explored in normal driving conditions. The Rocketeer MXV6 delivers the purest driving experience and previously unseen levels of sports car engagement and enjoyment.

The Rocketeer MXV6 is designed and built in Hampshire, UK by automotive industry experts and is currently available for both Mk1 (NA) and Mk2 (NB) versions of the Mazda MX5, in EU and US (Miata) specification. In its standard state of tune, the Rocketeer MXV6 delivers 280hp and an addictive sonorous engine noise, while still retaining the cars’ original benchmark drivability and handling.

The new investment will fund the development and completion of two completely new RestoBuild offerings for the company, as well as expanding into new markets.

In mid-2025, the company will launch the new Rocketeer Keiryō – Japanese for Lightweight. One of Rocketeer’s most discerning clients set its Research and Development team the task to build the lightest and most powerful Rocketeer MXV6 ever created. The Rocketeer Keiryō is targeting 850kgs and 375hp to deliver 441hp per tonne – the same power to weight ratio as the legendary Ferrari F40 and recent supercars such as the Lamborghini Huracan V10 and McLaren 620R. The Rocketeer Keiryō opens up the company to a completely new demographic of enthusiast driver, and once the first car is delivered to its owner, follow on cars are already available to order, with more details and specifications to follow nearer to launch.

The investment also supports the conclusion of the Mk3 (NC) vehicle, which is in the late stages of engineering development and has already been tested on the dynameter to more than 300hp as standard. Deliveries of NC cars are expected to begin in mid-2025. Given the volume of existing Mk3 cars on the roads, NC is expected to account for a significant proportion of future builds.

With existing build partners in Germany, Netherlands and Australia, another important development for Rocketeer is the ability to deliver vehicles in the important US market. With substantial and increasing interest for Rocketeer in America, the investment allows the company to deliver Turnkey and RestoBuild cars to US-based clients.

Today, Rocketeer MXV6 ownership is available through three routes. At its pinnacle, Rocketeer co-curates’ hand-built, bespoke RestoMod vehicles for its clients that feature one-off exterior and interior colours and materials to create cars that are as unique as the owners themselves. Turnkey cars are also available, where the company’s technicians install the new 3.0-litre V6 Rocketeer developed engine. Both Turnkey and RestoBuild vehicles are adorned with Rocketeer badging, and feature on the official Rocketeer register of vehicles. An accessible and comprehensive self-build kit is also available for enthusiasts.

    About Rocketeer
The Rocketeer MXV6 pays homage to the world’s best-selling and best handling small roadster by retaining the world-class weight distribution and nimble handling of the original. But the Rocketeer MXV6 removes the underpowered four-cylinder engine and employs its 3.0-litre V6, Jaguar-derived AJ30 engine that was designed by Porsche and finished by Cosworth, conveying its world-class pedigree. Thanks to its over-square design, light weight and flexibility, the Rocketeer MXV6 engine delivers a high-revving, tractable and of course, tuneful driving experience.

The standard specification delivers 280hp but Rocketeer now offers a powerplant that delivers an output in excess of 375hp and revs to 9,000rpm, in an old school, analogue sports car.

To date, over 150 Rocketeer kits have been installed in cars across the globe and more than 30 Turnkey and RestoMod cars have been built.

A Rocketeer MXV6 demonstration vehicle will be available for media evaluation at the forthcoming SMMT Test Day on 15 May, residing on the Newspress booth.
