In our minds, BMW Individual’s Wildberry Metallic is just about as good as it gets. Not too serious, yet absolutely sinister, it’s a juxtaposition that works incredibly well on M cars across the Tailored spectrum. And while this is an incredibly attractive hue, we do wonder if pairing it with Fiona Red interior was the move. Generally speaking, we like to pick a lane- either the outside is loud, or the inside is loud. The M3 Competition doesn’t exactly follow that ethos, which to be fair is not everyone’s cup of tea. So it begs the question, is this $96,000 M3 a 10 out of 10 or will you wait for the next Wildberry?

Unlike Porsche, BMW doesn’t have a Sonderwunsch department. However, looking over this highly OEM-looking E46 M3 Touring build on Cars and Bids, we’re wondering if they aren’t missing an opportunity. Yes, of course BMW now builds an M3 Touring even though we can’t get it here, but we’re thinking more of reimagined cars like Sonderwunsch’s 993 Speedsters.
What if BMW Classic built M3 Touring out of plain jane 3er long roofs? They’d probably look a lot like this, and what’s not to love? Do we need to mention it’s also a manual?

Le Mans (France), 13 June 2025 – On the eve of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari unveiled the 296 Speciale with the Piloti Ferrari configuration, the latest expression of the Tailor Made programme. This exclusive configuration was designed to celebrate the successes achieved in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and to honour Ferrari client-racing drivers. The official debut fittingly took place at the Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the legendary French endurance race scheduled for this weekend. The unique specification, reserved for clients involved in Ferrari’s official sporting activities — both competitive and non-competitive — is inspired by the 499P, overall winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 and 2024 in the Hypercar category. Designed for those who live the track firsthand, this special livery and finish reflects the identity of a community of client-racing drivers who actively contribute to Ferrari’s racing legacy.
The Piloti Ferrari 296 Speciale is offered in four racing-inspired colours: Rosso Scuderia, Blu Tour De France, Nero Daytona, and Argento Nürburgring. The exterior livery, inspired by that of the 499P and finished in Giallo Modena, features a hand-painted WEC logo, the Italian flag on the front bumper, and a customizable number chosen by the client. The model unveiled at Le Mans bears the number 51, with which Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi claimed victory in 2023 — the year of Ferrari’s official return to top-tier endurance racing and the French race’s centenary.
The cabin features racing seats upholstered in thermoformed black Alcantara®, with inserts made from the same fireproof fabric used for the official drivers’ suits. The livery number is also reproduced on the interior carbon fibre, while the technical metal footwell surface can be customized upon request. Every detail is designed to reflect the driving experience and sense of belonging shared by those passionate about competition. The personalisation is completed by a carbon identification plaque and a carbon-fibre door sill with an exclusive customizable dedication.
296 Speciale The 296 Speciale is a special version of Ferrari’s mid-rear-engined berlinetta that represents the extreme evolution of the 296 GTB, setting a benchmark in driving enjoyment. The plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 120-degree twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 880 cv. The ICE has been lightened and reinforced with components also derived from Formula 1, while the 8-speed DCT transmission has been optimized with the Ferrari fast shift strategy to maximize electric torque and make gear changes even quicker and more engaging. Weight has been reduced and aerodynamic downforce increased by 20% compared to the 296 GTB. The chassis has been revised for even more responsive and precise track behaviour; the new extra boost software strategy delivers full power during high-performance laps. Its compact dimensions and design integrate radical technical solutions—such as rear gamma wings, suspended splitters, and an enlarged diffuser evoking a racing aesthetic.
499P The 499P is the Hypercar with which Ferrari returned to the top class of the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2023, after a 50-year absence. Designed according to LMH regulations, it features a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis and double wishbone suspension. The hybrid powertrain combines a structural, load-bearing 3-litre twin-turbo V6 with a front electric motor, delivering around 680 cv and active all-wheel drive above 190 km/h. The electric unit also contributes to regenerative braking. Aerodynamics are optimized for efficiency and stability on all types of circuits. The 499P won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 and 2024 with cars #51 and #50 from the official Ferrari – AF Corse team, marking a triumphant return to the most prestigious endurance race.

Regardless of where your allegiance lies when it comes to mobility- electric, combustion, hybrid, or maybe a little of all the above- we think this Tailored Driver shows that with the right options anything can be exciting. BMW’s version of Maritime Blue is used brilliantly to spice up this i4 M50 Gran Coupe, and it’s currently for sale on Cars and Bids. It’s a funny thing about bold factory specifications. They can go full Buffalo Girl and go ’round the outside, coming back into solid ironic cool status. On the surface, we don’t know many Porschephiles who place the 968 Cabriolet on their short list of cars to own. Same goes for Viola Metallic – a medium metallic purple in a world where purple can be polarizing. Red interiors can also be hit-or-miss, but then you throw in tartan like the 968-era correct Studio Check and things are getting really interesting really fast.
The 968 you see here is in Belgium, so it’d be in need of importation if you’re one of our predominantly North American audience. This is the sort of car you’d see Germans diving deep into the product catalogue then surfacing months later doing a factory delivery with their true unique creation.
For the factory-spec perfectionists, we think we see an aftermarket shift knob in these photos, which is a shame because finding a matching factory replacement may prove to be a challenge… though if there’s any brand we’d feel more confident about being able to source it who’d be better than Porsche we can’t think of them.
Also, the wheels appear to be 993 Targa specification. Likely this car came with cup 1 wheels from the factory – either 16-inch as would have been standard on a 968, or perhaps upgraded to 17-inch like the 968 Clubsport.
Okay, for sure this car is polarizing. Even still, it’s so unique that we think it’s the sort of car that gets snapped up in a heartbeat by someone seeking something where they definitely won’t stumble over a twin at cars and coffee, or perhaps the collector who has everything.

If you have an affinity for both factory one-of-one creations and Canada, you won’t want to miss this 2024 911 GT3 RS. Unveiled at the 2024 Canadian International Auto Show, this one-of-a-kind Sonderwunsch special was built by Porsche Canada to celebrate the opening of the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto (PECTO).
Obviously, an official Porsche importer wasn’t going to fall short on the details when it came to such a special build, and the so-called “PECTO GT3 RS” received options totaling $415,375 CAD. These included two-tone paint with special Guards Red and White Canada-themed livery, special red and black pepita fabric and countless other details like logos and even a one-off Porsche Design Chronograph.
The car is listed for sale directly from Porsche Cars Canada, with a percentage of the proceeds going to charity. In addition to the car and the aforementioned watch, the sale also includes a scale model of the car and a driving experience at Porsche Experience Centre Toronto.

Designed specifically by Porsche Cars Canada alongside Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur department to announce the opening of the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto, RM Sotheby’s, a company founded and headquartered in Canada, is proud to offer this sensational 911 GT3 RS on behalf of Porsche Cars Canada.
Built to announce the opening of the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto and unveiled at the 2024 Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, this car is a stunning showcase of the abilities of the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur “Sonderwunsch” (special wishes) program to design and create automobiles that are unique in every aspect.
Undeniably Canadian from every angle, the livery on the PECTO GT3 RS is a homage to the Canadian flag utilizing Porsche’s own shades of Guards Red and White and showcases fanatical attention to detail. The offset exterior color split is delineated by the location of the steering wheel’s 12 o’clock marker, with each side of the car boasting deviated accent colors from the main exterior color apparent on that respective side, including the GT3 RS side graphics, maple leaf painted on the roof, the outer lips of the black forged magnesium wheels, maple leaf painted on the centerlocks, Porsche script underneath the rear wing, and the PECTO logo on either side of the rear wing.

In addition to the car’s incredible color scheme, the PECTO GT3 RS remains exceptionally well-optioned including the Weissach package, 90-liter fuel tank, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes with calipers in Gloss Black, front axle lift, preparation for Porsche dashcam, passenger footwell mounted fire extinguisher, LED-Matrix Design headlights in black, Exclusive Design taillights, Bose Surround Sound system, automatic dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor, pedals and footrest in aluminum, and traffic sign recognition.

We’ll be the first to admit it- of all the Tailors featured in our regular rotation, Q by Aston Martin generally isn’t one of them- and that’s a shame. Aston is, after all, a legendary brand that makes a stunning car which also happens to depreciate like a rock. This particular example, finished in the absolutely stunning Zaffre Blue Metallic is just $96,500. Sure it’s 6 years old, sure it’s done 22,622 wonderful miles, but we’re talking M3 money here for something that’s sure to turn more heads than a BMW sedan ever could. With a clean CarFax and the much, much more reliable AMG V8 under hood, and an asking price that wouldn’t begin to touch a Paint to Sample 911 of similar vintage, this Aston is well worth a good hard look.

It was just a couple of months ago that Lotus pulled the wraps off of their own in-house tailoring division Chapman Bespoke and one of the first results is this limited run of 60 “Chapman Bespoke Launch Edition” models. This one, painted Isotope Green, has just popped up on Doug DeMuro’s internet auction site Cars and Bids.
As a builder of premium sportscars, it makes sense that Lotus would both get into the lucrative tailoring business and also push for greater market penetration by building limited run series of cars. That’s pretty standard fare in the space, and it works well here for Hethel.
We like the way Lotus is using cue elements such as the triangular badge on the C-pillar of the car as a plaque to spell out just what the car is. The neon green level of Isotope Green is also quite different from standard colors of Emira we’ve seen so far, which will help you stand out from the Emira crowd should you join the ranks of ownership for one of the best new cars for driving purists that’s in production today.

Spoiler alert: this car is a respray. It was originally Grand Prix White over tan, meaning both the interior and exterior have experienced a color change. That said, it appears that no expense was likely spared in making it happen, while whomever did the work appears to have faithfully recreated the Porsche without taking liberties so as to make it look as if it could have been a period Paint to Sample. That’s both pretty cool and pretty rare.
We also like that it’s tone on tone. After having spent some years street parked in Manhattan, this car went in for a color change where the owner wanted the “creamiest” 964 ever. The color is period correct Apricot Beige, offered on the Porsche 928 and 911 from 1989-1990. And since beige wasn’t exactly in fashion in that period, the install rate was practically nonexistent. For the owner then, that made it near perfect for his needs – OEM, obscure and period correct.
While they were at it, they also redid the interior in a tone-on-tone match, replacing the factory tan leather with a lighter creamy beige leather. Some Alcantara was also used, which isn’t exactly period correct on a Porsche 964 but you’d likely need to be a super nerd to know that.
At $150K, this car is more expensive than the equivalent 1991 911 Carrera 2, though probably not far off from what a rare and well kept equivalent in paint to sample finish and Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur special interior. If these colors work for you or you’re seeking a 964-era 911 that’s super unique and that you won’t have to feel guilty logging miles driving then it’s probably worth the investment.
There’s no question that Bavaria is rich in destinations for car enthusiasts traveling into the region. You could spend days alone visiting headquarter museums for BMW in Münich, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart and Audi in Ingolstadt… and you still wouldn’t have seen it all. Moving beyond the main HQs of these storied brands, fans of the factory tailors should definitely not miss out on the lesser-known Audi Forum Neckarsulm where you’ll find amazing cars like this Tau Silver Matte RS 6 Avant we encountered during our last visit in 2022.
Behind the car in many of these photos, you’ll find equally unique cars. Why is that? For many years, Neckarsulm played home to quattro GmbH, the Audi business unit that controls the Audi exclusive tailoring division. So, while the Audi Forum Ingolstadt got the vast museum mobile, the Audi Forum Neckarsulm got a unique second-floor showroom that serves as a revolving exhibition of everything Audi exclusive is capable of.
This RS 6 may be painted in a neutral tone less eye-catching than some of its more colorful showroom neighbors, but it’s still an extensively unique factory build. The color is known as Tau Silver and is painted in matte effect finish (tausilber, matte effect, X7E, Audi). Inside, the seats are made in black and accented with Karmesin Red leather on the bolsters – subtle but yet again with Audi exclusive’s panel-by-panel customization approach.
Of course, the color scheme of silver, black and red is also embracing the color way of Audi Sport, which is particularly fitting on a car like the RS 6 Avant.
The Audi Forum Neckarsulm isn’t as well known as Ingolstadt as it is perhaps less of a grand tourist destination, but it’s a destination nonetheless complete with delivery center, restaurant, Audi collection shop, Audi Tradition exhibit and more. You should consider going.
