The L405 Range Rover is already an excellent generation of Range Rover, though built in exceptionally high luxury such as this SVAutobiography LWB takes it to another level. Looking over the car, it exudes an old money have-your-own-driver sort of feel.

The impression begins on the outside with two-tone Valloire White over black exterior. Color Check: Audi exclusive Frosted Glass Blue Metallic R8 V10 Performance Spyder

Sometimes, from the archives of the world wide web, we uncover something worth noting. We check forums, social posts, and even old dealer listings. That’s exactly what happened with this find. Lamborghini Newport Beach, thank you for posting those photos online; they’ve found their way to the Tailored Driver audience.

Here we have an Audi exclusive Frosted Glass Blue Metallic R8 V10 Performance Spyder. If you know your blues, you know this is not an original Audi color. This blue originates from Aston Martin’s “Q” special-order palette and has been adopted by Audi through its Audi exclusive program.

We weren’t able to source a color code from Audi, but looking at it’s origins at Aston Martin, the official color code is 6003D, also referenced as AST6003D or AM6003. This color is described as a light blue metallic with a subtle white flake, achieved using actual glass particles to create its unique shimmer.

While Audi does not publicly list a specific code for this color, a user on Reddit mentioned that the Audi/BASF code is DE01-2018-2218-4.  However, this code may not be universally recognized.

Love it or hate, you’ll have to admit this is a pretty rare color for the 4 rings brand. In our research, we came across a few models wearing this Aston Martin blue, including a TT RS, RS 6 Avant, and RS 4 Avant. While this specific R8 is no longer for sale, we find the VIN in hopes of learning more. We didn’t get far. But if you’re up for a deep dive, the VIN is WUA4BCFX4L7900884. Let us know what you find.

Friday 23 May 2025, Monaco, France: Aston Martin Valhalla made its global public dynamic debut ahead of the Monaco Formula One® Grand Prix weekend yesterday. Driven by Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® team driver and two-time Formula One World Champion, Fernando Alonso, Valhalla took to the iconic Monaco street circuit ahead of F1® practice, having recently completed final validation testing both on road and on track.

Valhalla has already captured the world’s attention with its fusion of Formula 1® performance-driven technologies. Close collaboration with Aston Martin Performance Technologies (AMPT) – the consulting arm of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1® Team – on dynamics, aerodynamics and materials have brought an extra dimension to the design and development of Valhalla. Having only appeared in public on static display until now, this was the supercar’s first dynamic public performance, highlighting its cutting-edge hybrid powertrain, superior handling, and unparalleled driving dynamics – not to mention its scintillating design.

A monumental moment in Aston Martin’s rich 112-year history, Valhalla is seen taking to the infamous street circuit through Monte Carlo in a AMR25 race car inspired Podium Green with a Lime Green livery with the supercar’s principal development driver Fernando Alonso at the wheel, pushing the car to its limits around Casino Square and through the Tunnel.

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® team driver, Fernando Alonso, said, “Having followed this project closely for the past 18 months and working alongside the development team, unveiling Valhalla’s dynamic capability to the world at the Monaco Grand Prix weekend is a fantastic moment for both myself and the brand. Taking Aston Martin’s unmatched luxury credentials and added cutting-edge F1® inspired technology and class-leading performance, I can confirm Valhalla is a true supercar both on road and on track. Outside of the outright power and dynamics, it delivers on all of the raw feelings and emotions you look for when behind the wheel of a car like Valhalla.”

Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin CEO said, “The extreme performance and unprecedented dynamic bandwidth that distinguishes Valhalla from its rivals presented many new opportunities to both the engineering and design teams throughout its development. To witness the culmination of the tireless work from all teams involved, showcased on an iconic F1® circuit like Monaco and driven by an icon like Fernando is a significant moment in Aston Martin’s rich history of both road cars and racing.”

With a combination of 1079PS and 1100Nm via the hybrid powertrain, Valhalla is a car of many ‘firsts’: Aston Martin’s first series production mid-engined supercar, first plug-in hybrid and first production vehicle with dedicated EV range capability. The marque’s first model to use the bespoke 4.0-litre twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8 engine – the highest performing V8 engine ever fitted to an Aston Martin – and the first to use the marque’s all-new 8-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), which incorporates an e-Motor and electronic rear differential (E-diff). It is also the first application of the all-new front axle twin motors, which facilitate torque vectoring and contribute to the all-wheel drive system.

Limited to 999 units, delivery of Aston Martin’s ultimate supercar, Valhalla, is set to commence in H2 2025.

CLK GTR Coupé Straßenversion Joins CLK GTR and C 11 Group C Racecars for Villa d’Este Display

Mercedes-Benz chose to celebrate with a major flex of their racing pedigree and the line to their road cars with three very special vehicles from their factory vintage collection. The road car, an über rare CLK GTR Coupé homologation road car joined a CLK GTR racecar and C 11 Group C prototype on the lawn next to Lake Como, having been set there by crane.

Mercedes-Benz Classic at FuoriConcorso: Rare meeting of two CLK GTR with spectacular introduction to the gardens of Villa del Grumello on Lake Como

    • The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR racing sports car from 1997 meets the exclusive production version
    • Mercedes-Benz C 11 as another championship vehicle from the 1990s
    • The three vehicles were brought into the gardens by using a mobile crane
    • FuoriConcorso on 24 and 25 May 2025 at Villa del Grumello and Villa Sucota

Legendary Mercedes-Benz racing sports cars and a super sports car aloft high above the shores of Lake Como: Mercedes-Benz Classic was already causing a stir with this spectacular scene during preparations for FuoriConcorso 2025. The Mercedes-Benz C 11 Group C racing car from 1990, the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR racing sports car from 1997 and the exclusive production version of the CLK GTR Coupé were placed in the gardens of Villa del Grumello using a mobile crane. On 24 and 25 May 2025, the Silver Arrows of the 1990s delighted the audience at the new and dynamic event. In addition, the programme included talks with an extremely high-calibre panel at Villa Sucota on 25 May 2025. Marcus Breitschwerdt, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Heritage GmbH, took part in the “Rally and F1” and “Italian Racing” discussion rounds.

    Memories of two championship years

FuoriConcorso has been around since 2019 and is regarded as one of the most attractive events in the classics scene. The two racing sports cars presented by Mercedes-Benz Classic in the gardens of Villa del Grumello have a connection to Italy: the Mercedes-Benz C 11 celebrated its début in 1990 with a one-two victory in the 480-kilometre race in Monza (Jean-Louis Schlesser/Mauro Baldi ahead of Jochen Mass/Karl Wendlinger); the CLK GTR racing sports car took second place in the 1997 FIA GT race in Mugello (Alessandro Nannini/Marcel Tiemann). These Silver Arrows each won the title in the 1990 Group C season as well as the 1997 FIA GT Championship.

A small series of road-legal hypercars with 450 kW (612 hp) was derived from the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR racing sports car in 1998. Only 20 of these extremely rare CLK GTRs were built as coupés, and only five as roadsters. The coupé at FuoriConcorso comes from the Nationales Automuseum The Loh Collection.

  • BMW M Sneaks New M2 CS Into Villa d’Este

BMW M Sneaks New M2 CS Into Villa d’Este

When it comes to Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, BMW has long been a major supporter. New concepts and a major presence are standard fare for the brand from Münich, so that they’d reveal a new model like the M2 CS perhaps is to be expected.

In due course then, the new M2 CS was unveiled on Friday evening as part of the concours that took place on lake Como from May 23-25. For this reason, we can share the photos, though the official communications of the car’s details won’t actually happen before tomorrow.

As you might expect then, we don’t have details on the car just yet. Even still, we figured those watching BMW and its illustrious M division would want to see them.

  • Color Check: Maritime Blue 964 RS 3.8 and 718 Spyder at Air Water 2025

Color Check: Maritime Blue 964 RS 3.8 and 718 Spyder at Air Water 2025

Events like Air|Water bring a wave of vibrant colors from the Porsche community. When it’s thoughtfully curated, it feels like being a kid in a candy store. @PTSRS and Air|Water teamed up to present “Colors of Air|Water,” and we spent hours capturing content for our site. The rain didn’t stop us. It added mood and contrast, bringing each color to life in both overcast light and the bright California sun.

We’re kicking things off with Maritime Blue, a color we’ve featured on the site before. In our Color Focus series, we took a closer look at its origins and where it stands today.

Here’s a quick recap: Maritime Blue (maritimblau, nonmetallic UNI, 5MB, Porsche) was either introduced or rose to prominence during the 964 era. According to Porsche Club’s Rennbow database, it was mainly available from 1991 to 1995, with a few exceptions, including a possible appearance in 1979 on the Carrera SC. Rennbow also notes it may have evolved from early Porsche Enamel Blue.

At its core, Maritime Blue is a near primary shade that echoes the early national racing colors of France, often called French Blue, made iconic in the prewar era by Bugatti.

We don’t have many details on this particular 964, but chances are you don’t need us to tell you just how rare this car really is. Built by Porsche Motorsport in 1993, the 964 RS 3.8 is one of just 55 units ever produced. Designed as a homologation special for the 964 RSR race car, it featured a widened Turbo body, a 3.8 liter air cooled flat six, and lightweight construction throughout. With most examples staying in Europe and many destined for the track, seeing one in Maritime Blue is an exceptionally rare occasion. Seeing one in the United States is even more rare.

Using the Bramo app, we get more insights on this 718 Spyder. The owner states, “Car was spec’d in collaboration with @PTSRS and our local dealership. The car originally resided in MA but has been enjoyed by myself and friends in CA for the last year and a half.” Pretty rad to spec it with PTSRS and bring it to an event organized by him.

Check out the video and gallery below for a walk around of both cars.

If an E36 BMW M3 Coupe isn’t on your bucket list of 1990s cars then we need to have an intervention. If you already like E36 M3s then read ahead with interest. If you’re not, well, be prepared to be won over.

What’s that, purples like Daytona Violet aren’t your thing? Okay, we’ll give you a pass on that one. Purple’s aren’t for everyone. But, if they were, then we suspect BMW Individual Daytona Violet is up there when it comes to likable purples.

Now throw in a manual transmission, well-kept vader seats and black leather and you have a really incredible specification. This one’s located private party in Europe, so you’ll need to import it.

  • Euro Market Find: 1 of 1 1996 Mini Cooper S

Euro Market Find: 1 of 1 1996 Mini Cooper S

    What: 1996 Mini Cooper S
Color: Porsche Paint to Sample Riviera Blue (rivierablau; non-metallic Uni; S8 / L39E; Porsche)
    VIN: N/A
    Mileage: 40,000 km
    Price: €32,500
    CarFax: N/A
    Window Sticker: N/A
    Location: DT-Motors, Darmstadt, Germany
    Listing: Link

This car’s a bit of a puzzle. It’s an “ur” Mini. “Ur” means “original” in German, which is how Germans designate the original Audi quattro from every other Audi with quattro. Given this Mini is in Germany, not far from Frankfurt, the German descriptor sort of works.

The car itself is listed as “1 of 1” in Porsche Riviera Blue, with bespoke blue leather interior as well. It’s possible it wasn’t done by the factory, though the amount of interior details and “1 of 1” description makes us wonder if it’s some sort of factory special.

The dealer ad isn’t all that revealing in this regard, so we’ll just not that here. Otherwise, if you’re into something unique and don’t mind going through importation, this Mini makes a compelling case.

  • Color Check: Gunther Werks GW Coupe in Sterling Silver

Color Check: Gunther Werks GW Coupe in Sterling Silver

When it comes to Porsche 911-based remasters, Gunther Werks has built a solid reputation and a specific niche of the last-of-the-air-cooleds 993-generation. Over the years, Gunther Werks has expanded its formula to include more racing-focused cars and Speedsters, but its their core GW specification forms the core.

Getting to the core Gunther Werks formula, it’s hard to argue with the idea of doing a classic and understated silver. Gunther Werks calls this particular version Sterling Silver, and it works well. Stylistically, the understated hue allows all of their incredible detail work to do the talking. In a more literal sense, the audible talking comes from an optimized 4.0-liter normally-aspirated flat six developed by Rothsport Racing.

Market Find: 2002 Audi S4 Avant, Nogaro Blue, Manual Transmission

    What: 2002 Audi S4 Avant

    Listing: Facebook

Okay, technically Nogaro Blue was a standard color offering on the B5 Audi S4. Even still, it’s rare enough and sought after enough by enthusiasts that it bears mentioning. Now throw in excellent specifications like Avant body (wagon in Audi speak) and manual transmission and we most definitely have a winner.

And while black leather with matching blue Alcantara may be the ultimate spec, we’re not going to hate on the light grey found in this car. Yes, it does show wear, but it’s a bold move that looks very period and incredible.

This one’s not exactly delivery miles, but the odometer is low for the age of the car. It’s well kept, and we’d argue it’s fairly priced. Check it out on Facebook Marketplace.
