Atlanta, Georgia. Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) announced today that it will auction a unique 911 S/T in partnership with RM Sotheby’s, with proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross in support of its work in the United States, specifically those affected by the recent California wildfires.

The car up for auction is 911 S/T is number 1,919 of the 1,963 vehicles created to mark the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911. It is the only 911 S/T to be sold from PCNA’s internal vehicle pool to date, and the very last example in the United States not yet assigned to a customer. The auction will be hosted via RM Sotheby’s Online Only auction platform. Many of those connected to Porsche have contributed their time and energy to the auction, including actor Orlando Bloom who offered to lend his support to raise awareness of the sale, and RM Sotheby’s who are waving their usual fees to maximize the amount that reaches the American Red Cross.

“The work of the American Red Cross has become even more important in the past weeks, during the devastation of many parts of Los Angeles caused by wildfires,” said Timo Resch, President and CEO of PCNA. “We are proud to offer direct support by selling a car that’s truly precious to us that will help fund the work of the American Red Cross, in Los Angeles and across the United States.”

Since the outbreak of the fires in Los Angeles, the American Red Cross has provided over 14,500 overnight stays shelter, 128,000 meals and snacks as well as over 102,000 relief supplies such as flashlights, face masks, water and other essentials to those directly affected.

“We are so grateful for partners like Porsche Cars North America and RM Sotheby’s as we work together to provide relief and hope for communities in the wake of this heartbreaking disaster,” said Anne McKeough, Chief Development Officer at the American Red Cross.

“The wildfires in California have destroyed countless communities, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to make a real impact in helping those affected,” said Gord Duff, President of RM Sotheby’s. “Porsche Cars North America, Orlando Bloom, the American Red Cross, and RM Sotheby’s have come together for a truly meaningful cause—offering one of the most desirable modern Porsches to benefit wildfire relief. Through RM Sotheby’s Sealed platform, collectors can bid with confidence, knowing that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to wildfire victims via the American Red Cross. We’re honored to be part of this effort, leveraging our combined reach to make a difference where it matters most.”

In addition, the winning bidder will receive a unique timepiece being created by Porsche Design. Manufactured in Switzerland, it is only available to 911 S/T customers and will be custom-tailored to the car. In addition, the timepiece features a titanium case and reflects the lightweight principle with which the 911 S/T was designed.

“Porsche Design is proud to support the American Red Cross in its efforts to provide relief to victims of the Southern California wildfires by contributing a matching Chronograph 1 – 911 S/T to the auction,” commented Stefan Buescher, CEO of the Porsche Lifestyle Group. “The engraved chassis number on the case back will make this timepiece a true one-of-a-kind collector’s item.”

A further special touch: This car will also come with an owner’s manual pouch signed by Andreas Preuninger, Director of the GT model line at Porsche.

    Vehicle Details
The 911 S/T being auctioned has already been meticulously run-in (to a pre-prescribed checklist) in Europe to a total of 932-miles or 1,500 kilometers by the preparation team based in Stuttgart – a process that has included detailed checks on every aspect of the car, both visually and mechanically. The car is unregistered and has covered a total of 956-miles and is ready to be enjoyed as its creators intended.

The car is equipped with the optional Heritage Design Package, celebrating 60 years of the Porsche 911. Painted in Shore Blue Metallic (shoreblaumetallic; metallic Uni; R5G; Porsche), an exclusive color for this package, the wheels are in the color Ceramica, also reserved exclusively for this variant. The classic style Porsche crest from the original 911 adorns the front, and can also be found on the center caps of the wheels, the steering wheel, the head rests and the car key, underscoring the historic roots of the 911 S/T, which remains unregistered and is powered by a 4.0 liter, naturally aspirated flat-six engine developing 518 hp, connected to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The interior features Full Bucket Seats with cloth seat centers in Classic Cognac with black pinstripes – another homage to heritage. Two-tone simi-aniline leather trim in Black/Classic Cognac with extensive leather surrounds, a roof lining in perforated Dinamica, and other elements from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur round out the package. The Porsche logo and the 911 S/T model designation are kept in gold.

The car being auctioned is also equipped with a number of options that further enhance its enthusiast appeal and touring capability. This includes the front axle lift system, which provides greater ground clearance at the touch of a button to navigate speed bumps or driveways, and extended range 23.7 gallon fuel tank, auto-dimming mirrors with integrated rain sensor, rear Park Assist and the BOSE Surround Sound audio system.

The 911 S/T is offered without reserve, selling to the highest bidder. Potential bidders can find more information on the unique package being offered and the registration process at rmsothebys.com. Bidding opens on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Interested parties can also view the car at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles during business hours (Tuesday – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST).

We’re noting a theme amongst the cars from the Todd Blue LAPIS collection, mainly blue and sometimes triple blue (blue body, blue wheels, blue interior) with some sort of incredible fabric pattern on the seats for good measure. Such is the case with this 991-era 911 GT2 RS “Weissach Package”, an incredibly unique build with a long list of special wishes touches.

How unique? The original MSRP on this GT2 was $588,115, including over $232,000 worth of specific tailoring from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur (option code CXX). That all adds up to a 101% increase in CXX options alone over the base price of the 911 GT2 RS!

The configuration begins with paint to sample Albert Blue bodywork with blue carbon fiber accents. The color dates back to Porsches of the early 1970s, though looks the part on this more modern 991 GT2 RS, especially with color-matched Albert Blue wheels.

Inside, leather to sample Yachting Blue leather is accented with Chalk stitching and Graphite Madraskaro plaid. The leather has been extended to what appears to be every interior space available. The roof liner is in matching Yachting Blue Alcantara. Silver Grey seatbelts accent tastefully with the plaid-centered carbon fiber backed seats.

Dials on the gauges and Sport Chrono have been specified to black, with black gloss carbon fiber trim and yatchting blue floor mats.

Order book options begin with the Weissach Package ($18,000) including carbon used on the fiber roof panel, anti-roll bars, front trunk lid and additional components. Interestingly, CXX tailoring was even specified here at Mr. Blue’s request, adding dark blue tint to the carbon fiber on the roof panel, front fender louvers, mirrors and rear wing. According to RM, this car is one of just three to be fitted with the blue carbon fiber specification. The Weissach package also included magnesium wheels, with the wheels on this particular car tailored in color-matched Albert Blue. All told, Weissach cars weighed in at just 3,241 lbs.

Other options on the car include the Light Design Package, Sport Chrono Package, front axle-lift system, extended range fuel tank and Porsche Dynamic Light System.

The car was delivered new to Todd Blue’s LAPIS Collection via Porsche of North Houston

When it was launched in 2017, the 991-era 911 GT2 RS was the most powerful 911 Porsche had ever produced. It featured a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter flat six delivering 700 horsepower to the rear wheels via 7-speed PDK (DSG) transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 mph was accomplished in just 2.8 seconds and it was capable of a top speed of 211 mph.

Another from the Todd Blue LAPIS collection is this über rare 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.8 RS, #261 of 1,104 examples ever produced. It was delivered new in Germany. Of those, it’s the only example produced in Riviera Blue with Clubsport aerodynamics and black leatherette interior with Grey seat centers and Riviera Blue accents from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

Other options include the Clubsport front spoiler, Clubsport rear wing, Clubsport strut tie bar, power steering, motorsports steering wheel in leather, air conditioning, German market equipment group, radio, locking differential and special-order heated and power adjustable Clubsport sport seats with Riviera Blue color-matched fiberglass shells. RM shares that they also have an accompanying build shit confirming further Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur options such as door pulls and seat belts in matching Riviera Blue.

For those who don’t know, a 993-generation Carrera RS 3.8 is effectively a homologation special. These cars were built to qualify the visually similar Porsche 911 3.8 RS for BPR GT3 and GT4 classes of racing. Like many homologation specials, this effectively makes the car a bit of a racing car for the road. It’s widebody stance is also believed to be an inspiration to the RWB Porsche movement and the Idlers racing series from which it spawned.

Of the 1,104 911 Carrera RS 3.8s built between 1994 and 1996, 227 were spartan Clubsport versions. It’s not known how many were standard RS versions utilizing the lightweight Clubsport options as did #261 that RM will be selling as part of their Miami sale this year.

The 993 Carrera RS 3.8 is powered by a 3.8-liter version of Porsche’s normally-aspirated M64/20 engine. It produces 296 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 262 lb-ft of torque at 5,400 rpm. As with the previous 964 3.8 RS, the 993 3.8 RS also makes use of 18-inch modular 3-piece alloy wheels from Speedline, though their magnesium centers were updated to match the 993 era “Cup 2” design.

As for the Riviera Blue paint color itself, it is a hue that seems to harken earlier decades like the 1970s, but was actually introduced as a 993 launch color. Like many colors over the years, Riviera Blue was a bold color Porsche introduced with their new models that suffered in period from being polarizing enough that the take rate was very low. However, it aged gracefully and today is highly sought after by collectors both for its unique hue and its rarity.

The car was delivered new to Porsche Center Dusseldorf in June of 1995. It remained in Dusseldorf until 2007 when it next spent its time in several significant Porsche collections in England, Holland and France before being imported into the U.S.A. prior to being 25 years old via NHTSA’s “Show and Display” exemption. Today, it is titled in the USA.

From the Todd Blue LAPIS collection comes this 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic, #269 from a worldwide production of just 1,250. Even in that rare group though, this particular Sport Classic comes heavily laden with special details via a truly remarkable Sonderwunsch tailored focus.

How remarkable exactly? RM Sotheby’s reports the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur CXX-code options add up to no less than $111,355. That’s some serious tailoring, so let’s dig into the details.

The exterior paint color is Manuas Blue, a hue added to the Porsche Paint to Sample program the same year this car was produced. Its Fuchs-like 5-spoke wheels are color-matched in Manuas Blue, while other detailing like the Porsche script stripes are in Shadow Blue.

Inside, the car features a truly unique interior taking a tone-on-tone approach of using blue nearly everywhere. The main leather color used on the seats is Graphite Blue with Pebble Grey stitching, extending also to the air vents, center tunnel, knee pads, front trunk, rear side panels, lower dashboard, inner door sill guards and also the owner’s manual wallet.

And while a bold leather choice might do it for some, this car goes so much further with its details. Striking Paldao Wood inlays are found on dashboard, door cards, cupholder surround and vertically on the seatbacks. In the centers of the seats is a bespoke Pepita houndstooth in Black, Chalk and Speed Blue that is said to be inspired by the fabric used in the 911 Carrera “Sally Special” built by Sonderwunsch as a tribute to the Cars character and auctioned for charity by RM Sotheby’s in August 2022 and generating $3.6 million. This car is one of very few and reportedly possibly the first to receive this exclusive fabric.

As RM’s Moda Miami event weekend takes on The Amelia for spring concours week bragging rights, it would seem there’s a bit of a throw down to be found between RM’s Miami sale and auctions at The Amelia. We aim to bring a spotlight to the highlights.

While those without Paint to Sample (PTS) allocations may beg to differ, the reality when it comes to special paint at Porsche is that the take rate for PTS is considerably higher than it has been historically. Yes, PTS has been offered by Stuttgart for decades, but today it is a an extra mark of exclusivity for a brand enjoying a definite heyday. So, even if you have a PTS allocation, the trick is to choose a more obscure color or go further with special Exclusive Manufaktur CXX special requests. For those watching the Amelia Island week auction dockets, it’s notable that this particular 911 GT3 Touring sports both an obscure color and special interior.

This 911 is PTS Black Olive, a medium dark non-metallic green. The color has a bit of a retro look about it, almost making you wonder if it comes from the 356 era. It doesn’t, and was only briefly offered from the factory in the 997.2 and 991 eras, and occasionally chosen by PTS customers. It’s a subtle handsome look, but not one that’s going to scream look at me like a Gulf Blue or Viper Green.

A perfect pairing of satin white gold wheels from Exclusive Manufaktur only emphasizes the classic feel of Black Olive.

Open the door for a peek inside and we’d argue that’s where this car becomes truly special. It features over $35,000 in CXX requests. The color is Exclusive Manufaktur Truffle Brown and Black, over Porsche’s carbon bucket seats. It also includes quilted door panels and deviated stitching throughout.

Broad Arrow’s lot description includes the following further description of the interior. “at delivery it was taken even further with the addition of body color Black Olive-painted seat belt pass-throughs and Black and White houndstooth check fabric seat inserts.”

We’re not sure exactly what that means and would suggest those with a very strict appreciation for factory specification only cars may want to take not here and inquire for further details from Broad Arrow. Their description also notes that, “The lengthy list of options and CXX special wishes is on file and available for review.”

Other options include 6-speed manual transmission, Front Axle Lift, Touring Pack in Black, full body-color carbon roof, Extended Range fuel tank, BOSE sounds system and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes with Black brake calipers featuring Chalk Porsche lettering. All told, the car stickered at $370,000.

The car has logged only 482 miles, which makes it practically new in our book.

  • 1991 “Oppenheimer Commission” Singer DLS Goes Sealed Bid with RM Sotheby’s

1991 “Oppenheimer Commission” Singer DLS Goes Sealed Bid with RM Sotheby’s

What: 1991 Porsche 911 DLS “Oppenheimer Commission” by Singer
Color: Brilliant Blue Metallic (sonicblue; metallic Uni; 896; Mercedes-Benz)

Another Singer DLS has hit the market, this time in a sealed bid sale with RM Sotheby’s. Built as a left hand drive yet UK registered. So, while it’s based in the UK, its age and configuration make it fairly easy to certify and register in other markets like the U.S.A.

“The Oppenheimer Commission” was named for the Oppenheimer Blue diamond and not for the nuclear physicist. Said diamond is a 14.62-carat rock that is the largest fancy vivid blue diamond classified by the Geological Institute of America ever sold at auction.

While light weighting and performance was the main mission of the DLS, opulence befitting a gargantuan blue diamond also sort of fits cars costing more than seven figures to build. And, opulent Oppenheimer is, utilizing Mercedes-Benz Brilliant Blue Metallic contrasted with a generous amount of clear carbon fiber coated with navy tint gloss lacquer around the exterior and also throughout the cabin. This is particularly elegant in the blue lettering and striping on the car, subtly contrasting in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it sort of way with the Brilliant Blue paint.

Oppenheimer also sports several one-off features Singer hadn’t tried before constructing it. For instance, the underbody of the car was fitted with underbody protection film. The smoked DLS-specification taillights aren’t one-ff, but they are seldomly seen and reportedly an $18,000 option.

Inside, the primary leather color is Cream, contrasted with Navy Blue Alcantara that is color-matched to the blue carbon fiber throughout. The car’s carbon bucket seats also get offset navy blue stripes in leather, while the shift knob is maple.

Singer only built 70 examples of the DLS. Now combine this one owner car’s odometer showing not much more than delivery miles and the opportunity should be obvious. Granted, that the price will be high should also be obvious. Even still, if you want to skip the line then Oppenheimer may be worth watching.

London, England – Broad Arrow, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, has collaborated with Henry Catchpole to create a stunning film for Hagerty’s “The Driver’s Seat” series, featuring two very special Porsche models, recently consigned to Broad Arrow Private Sales.

Broad Arrow is well known for offering modern classic supercars to discerning collectors around the world, and the ultra-rare Porsche 911 TAG Turbo and RUF CTR Anniversary in this epic Hagerty and Broad Arrow film, bring that reputation to life.

This is the first time the stunning Mint Green (mintgrün; non-metallic UNI; 22R; Porsche) pair have been together on film, providing a rare chance to see, hear and experience both cars being driven as intended, as Hagerty’s Henry Catchpole puts them through their paces. In this exhilarating test, he tackles the picturesque Anglesey Circuit, capturing the raw nature, and sounds, of both cars while revealing their unique personalities.

Both cars impressed Catchpole with their unique character and exceptional performance on track. The RUF he described as “utterly extreme” and a “proper wild child” with its 710hp engine powering just the rear wheels. The TAG Turbo seemed to steel his heart. Expecting a car ruled by its engine, he noted how well-engineered the car is, concluding it felt like “one of the very best 911s” in history, and yet perfectly useable day-to-day.

The 2023 RUF CTR Anniversary is one of only 50 limited production models, and is a brand-new car finished in PTS Mint Green over a Black Alcantara interior. Offered with very low mileage and a digital copy of its original build sheet, it has been optioned with front axle lift, foldable Kevlar carbon bucket seats, lightweight door option, and harness crossbar in Alcantara. Powered by a 710-horsepower flat-six twin-turbo engine paired with a seven-speed manual gearbox, it is capable of 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds with a 224-mph top speed.

Alois Ruf is rightly proud of this very special car, saying; “The first automobile that was completely conceived and manufactured by us marks a very special chapter in our company’s history, a 30th birthday celebration of the Yellowbird.”

The 1988 Porsche 911 TAG Turbo, consigned to Broad Arrow Private Sales, is one of only 11 built by Lanzante and this particular example was completed in 2020. Custom finished in Mint Green over Black leather with Blue/Green tartan cloth, it is offered with less than 300 miles since completion. Power comes from a 1.5-litre TAG Turbo “TTE P01” V6 Formula One engine developed by Porsche and rebuilt by Cosworth, which revs to 10,250rpm via a custom Porsche 993 six-speed gearbox and has a claimed top speed of 200 mph. The engine in this car was raced by four-time Formula One World Champion Alain Prost at the 1986 German Grand Prix and the 1987 Hungarian and Japanese Grands Prix.

Dean Lanzante said of his Porsche TAG Turbo creation: “It’s a car that celebrates history, the history between two amazing brands. But it will remain extremely rare because it has to be. We couldn’t get any more engines from McLaren, so this is it. There will never be another car like it.”

Broad Arrow VP of Sales for EMEA, Joe Twyman, provided driver support on the day and is behind the wheel of the second car throughout the film. Joe is a highly experienced driver in his own right having raced many important cars at events around the world. Speaking of his time with both cars, Twyman said: “While both are finished in the same colour, the cars themselves are very different. Both are extremely powerful but encourage the driver to get the best from them. They are also beautifully built, and exceptionally well developed and compliant both on track and on the road. The film will provide a real insight into the cars and will be both a joy to watch for any enthusiast while also providing an unrivalled level of insight for any potential buyer.”

Interested buyers should note the RUF CTR Anniversary has recently been sold, proving the ability of the Broad Arrow team to find the right buyer for specialist cars, swiftly.

The Porsche 911 TAG Turbo will be available to view on the Broad Arrow stand at the Retromobile show taking place in Paris on 5–9 February. Members of the Broad Arrow team will be on hand to show the car in detail to any interested buyers.

The story of Porsche and McLaren International – how the Porsche TAG Turbo was created
McLaren’s Ron Dennis approached Porsche in early 1981 to build a turbocharged Formula One engine and was initially told it would not be possible. Later, Porsche agreed to design a new 1.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, funded by Techniques d’Avant Garde Group S.A. (TAG), for McLaren.

The TAG-Porsche powered McLaren MP4/2s triumphed at 12 of the 16 Grands Prix in 1984, taking the Constructors’ Championship and giving Niki Lauda the Drivers’ Championship. 1985 brought a further six wins, a second consecutive Constructors’ Championship and Prost achieved his first Drivers’ Championship with five wins. Prost won the Drivers’ title again in 1986 with Porsche’s 1.5-litre TTE (TAG Turbo Engines) V6, now producing 910 horsepower in race trim and 990hp for qualifying. For 1987, Prost partnered with Stefan Johansson, and while the season wasn’t as successful as in the past, the Frenchman still managed three wins.

In March 1987 the TAG V6 was installed in a Porsche 911 Turbo. This unique car remains in the McLaren International collection and, aside from a surprise appearance at the 2012 McLaren Employee Motorshow, this special car has remained under wraps. What was gifted to McLaren by Porsche at the conclusion of their partnership appeared to be a lightly modified Grand Prix White 911 Turbo with RUF five-spoke Speedline wheels and a RUF front valance. Yet this valance hid two large radiators, and out back, two massive intercoolers were fitted underneath a relatively stock looking Turbo tail with a subtle ram-air scoop at the trailing edge.

Over the years, many of those aware of the car’s existence had made direct overtures to McLaren to acquire it, including Dean Lanzante, yet the answer was always no. Lanzante was persistent and persuaded the company to provide a 1.5-litre TAG Turbo intending to produce a second Formula One-powered Porsche Type 930. In the end, Lanzante and his team embarked on constructing 11 TAG-powered 930s—a car for each pilot in each year a McLaren MP4 was powered by a Porsche TTE engine.

The engine was extensively re-engineered by Cosworth and features new pistons, connecting rods, valves, valve springs, modern turbochargers, an updated cooling system, oil heat exchangers, and an Inconel exhaust with titanium tailpipes. The engine itself is an incredible 286 pounds lighter than the 3.3-litre air-cooled flat six it replaces. A Cosworth ECU and a bespoke Raychem motorsport-grade wiring loom manage the engine, paired with a six-speed H-pattern manual transmission featuring bespoke gear ratios for a 200-mph top speed via a twin-plate hydraulic carbon clutch.

  • Market Find: Singer Dynamics and Lightweighting Study at Graham Rahal Performance

Market Find: Singer Dynamics and Lightweighting Study at Graham Rahal Performance

What: 1990 Porsche 911 Singer DLS
Color: Dark Olive (unknown color code)
    VIN: WP0ZZZ96ZLS408205
Mileage: 1,415 miles (believed since restoration/conversion)
    Price: $3,149,995
    CarFax: N/A
    Window Sticker: N/A
Location: Graham Rahal Performance, Zionsville, IN
    Dealer Listing: Link

    Why We Love It:

The DLS formula for Singer reimaginings is a remarkable thing. Launched in 2018, it created perhaps the ultimate specification for a classic 911, complete with all-carbon bodywork and 500 horsepower 4.0-liter flat six developed by Williams Advanced Engineering. The car was both incredibly expensive and very sought-after, making for years of waiting to get one or prices in the millions if you can find one (see above).

Should you wish to skip the line, Graham Rahal can help assist with this Dark Oliver over Antique Tan example. The black-painted Fuchs-like wheels give it an extra unique appearance even amongst other DLS where exposed silver star protrusions are the typical finish applied. That’s all a very tasteful mix, though there’s a premium attached. Check out the link above for more information, photos and contact details.

When covering these creations from Singer, we usually like to keep track of the Commission or title name given to the car. We’re not seeing one on this car, nor in the listing so if you happen to know then drop us a line or share it in the comments section below.

Thanks to Kevin Baker for the tip.

  • When You Build a Mint Green 911 GT3 RS and It’s All About the Interior

When You Build a Mint Green 911 GT3 RS and It’s All About the Interior

It’s hard to imagine building a brand new Porsche 911 GT 3 RS in Paint to Sample Mint Green (mintgrün; non-metallic UNI; 22R; Porsche) and yet all anyone wants to do is talk about the interior, but that’s exactly the case with this elfer going through pre-delivery at Porsche Colorado Springs and shared to Facebook HERE.

Imagine the task. You already know you’ve chosen one of the most iconic 964-era Carrera Cup colors, a color amongst an era that also established as greats the likes of Rubystar / Rubystone and Maritime Blue. Now, pick an interior to top that, and don’t do anything dumb like choosing a leather color that only has a shot of being cool in an ironic sense.

How do you do it? Well, if you’re this particular Porsche Colorado Springs Client, you lean into CXX special wishes and dig into unexpected classic tones and patterned fabric. Light grey leather is the name of the game here, over sport buckets with centers in Pepita houndstooth.

That’s unexpected, because Pepita tends to get paired with black, or maybe brown on rare occasions. Not only does it look amazing on light grey, it might serve to wear a bit better than had the whole seat been done in such a lightly toned hide.

Kudos to Porsche Colorado Springs for sharing this. And, kudos to the builder who created this specification. With so many Paint to Sample and Sonderwunsch GT3 RS examples out there, it’s getting harder and harder to wow those of us who feel sometimes like we’ve seen it all before. No question though, this car has done just that.

  • Market Find: 2023 Sonderwunsch Porsche 911 Sport Classic Set Broad Arrow Amelia Island Sale

Market Find: 2023 Sonderwunsch Porsche 911 Sport Classic Set Broad Arrow Amelia Island Sale

What: 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic
Color: Dolphin Grey (dolphingrau; non-metallic UNI; Z99 / 6410; Porsche)
    VIN: WP0AG2A92PS252355
    Mileage: 2,383 miles
    Price Estimate: $450,000 – $500,000
    CarFax: Inquire
    Window Sticker: N/A
Location: Broad Arrow The Amelia Auction 2025, Amelia Island, FL
    Auction Listing: Link

    Why We Love It:

It takes a special kind of buyer to dip into Paint to Sample, much less Sonderwunsch, orders with a solid approach to subtlety. It happens though, and we appreciate it because what makes the car special becomes less of a look-at-me scream and more of an invitation of if-you-know-you-know nods from those who get it.

Cars like this 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic in the very light and almost-white looking Dolphin Grey paired with color-matched wheels are textbook if-you-know-you-know. To many, this may look like just another white 911 with a ducktail, but to the Porsche-aware it is just so much more.

To the uninitiated, the Sport Classic dusts of the name of the 997.2 era 911 and reformulates it ever-so-slightly, basing this most modern Sport Classic on the 911 Turbo S. This means Porsche’s most potent turbocharged model, which trades its whale tail for a retro duck tail. It is the Sport Classic and only the Sport Classic where a manual can be had with the 911 Turbo S engine, a configuration this car most definitely boasts.

Dolphin Grey comes from the latter 356 and earliest 911/901 era of the mid-60s at Porsche. Such subtle pastel takes of that era are en vogue again, and translate well to modern cars with timeless design. In this case, that’s even more pronounced by a pairing with Black Heritage Design Classic leather interior with Pepita (houndstooth) seat centers.

Since it’s a Sport Classic, standard features include the aforementioned Classic Black Heritage Design trim and Black carpeting, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, Sport Chrono, PASM Sport Suspension, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Adaptive Sport Seats Plus with Backrest Shells in Leather, Extended Dashboard and Door Panel Package in Leather, Front Axle Lift and Carbon Fiber Roof. Options include the Burmester Surround Sound System, Interior Trim Inlays in Leather, Inner Door-Sill Guards in Leather, Ambient Lighting, and Under Door Puddle Light Projectors.

Though not mentioned in the auction listing, we also note that the Sport Classic-specification modern center-lock Fuchs 5-spoke wheels appear to be distinctively color-matched to the car’s Paint to Sample Dolphin Grey body panels for a further flourish of subtle tailoring.

As shown on the badging, this car is #299 of the 1,250 Sport Classics manufactured. It was delivered new in Minneapolis, MN and, thus far, has had two owners.

This car will be part of Broad Arrow’s auction at The Amelia 2025. Interested parties should plan to bid on it there.
