  • Porsche x Ferragamo Collaborate for Special Edition 911 and Taycan

Porsche x Ferragamo Collaborate for Special Edition 911 and Taycan

Porsche and the heritage Italian brand Ferragamo are known for timeless design, authentic craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising quality. The two companies have joined forces to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Porsche Italia.

Porsche Italia is launching two special-edition models created in collaboration with Ferragamo, which are based on the 911 Carrera 4 GTS and Taycan 4S. In the style of the fashion brand, the experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur have elaborately refined both the exterior and the interior of the two iconic sports cars. A standout highlight is Blusogno – a special colour inspired by a Ferragamo collection. This shade also features in the interior, and, in combination with the blue Paldao wood décor, conveys a subtle elegance. The special-edition models are available in limited numbers exclusively for the Italian market.

Ferregamo and Porsche are inspired by the same vision

Both pioneers made their dreams come true, laying the foundation for a success story that continues to this day. Salvatore Ferragamo became famous in Hollywood by custom-making shoes for movie stars. In 1927, the ‘shoemaker of dreams’, as he was known, returned to his homeland and settled near Florence. And in 1948, Ferry Porsche realised his dream of building a sports car with the 356 ‘No. 1’ Roadster. This model marked the beginning of a strong brand with products that are still highly sought after today.

“Our dream was to create something truly unique that embodies the spirit that has guided us for the past 40 years: Porsche style combined with Italian culture and aesthetics. That’s why we chose Ferragamo as a partner for this project – a brand with which we share values such as excellence of craftsmanship, timeless elegance and a tireless attention to detail,” says Pietro Innocenti, CEO of Porsche Italia. “The collaboration with Ferragamo and the team at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in Zuffenhausen has enabled us to implement this vision in a way that is both authentic and forward-looking. These values will continue to inspire and guide us in the future.”

“When Porsche asked Ferragamo to contribute to this anniversary, the main idea was to change as little as possible and focus on refined details. Because Porsche is already perfect,” says Leonardo Ferragamo, Chairman of Salvatore Ferragamo. “The aim of this collaboration was to create an authentic and meaningful synergy between two iconic brands that both share the same values: design, excellence, craftsmanship and the courage to innovate. We wanted to tell an emotive story rooted in the idea of dreaming. My father Salvatore was known as ‘the shoemaker of dreams’, while Porsche continues to be driven by dreams.”

The collaboration: a close exchange between the two brands

“Both Porsche and Ferragamo are characterised by a signature design that is of timeless elegance. We have taken this minimalist, purist approach to the extreme with the ’40 Anni Porsche Italia’ models,” says Grant Larson, Director Special Projects Design at Porsche. “Salvatore Ferragamo experimented a lot with unusual natural materials,” the designer continues. “This encouraged us to take unusual paths in the interior and to dye the Paldao wood blue – a novelty for us at Porsche that emphasises the understated character of these limited-edition models.”

Both design teams were in close contact with each other during the project. The Ferragamo team travelled to Zuffenhausen, and the Porsche and Porsche Italia team were guests in Florence. The perfect Blusogno shade was developed using leather and fabric samples from Ferragamo’s iconic shoulder bag and signature fashion pieces.

The exterior: Blusogno paintwork with white fine lines

Through its Paint to Sample Plus programme, Porsche offers customers the opportunity to create completely individual colours for their cars. Blusogno was developed as a special colour exclusively for this special edition. Thin, precise lines – known as fine lines – add an accent that conveys elegance and dynamism. These white fine lines, inspired by Ferragamo design elements, are mounted on the front lid and rear spoiler and elegantly follow the flow of air over and around the car.

Both B-pillars bear a commemorative plaque with a prominent ‘40’, the years 1985 and 2025 and the words ‘Porsche’ and ‘Italia’ – in tribute to Porsche Italia’s 40th anniversary. All these elements are raised slightly so that they can be felt across the surface.

The wheels have been painted in Blusogno and finished with white, hand-painted pinstripes. The wheel hub cover also bears the exclusive blue colour, which forms a striking contrast to the red Porsche crest. At the rear, the model lettering is painted by hand in white and outlined in Blusogno, which gives the overall design an almost noble, harmonious touch.

The interior: Blusogno leather with blue Paldao wood trim

Blusogno also features heavily inside the car. Leather and yarn were developed and produced especially for the project in this special colour. The front and rear seats, the GT sports steering wheel and details on the centre console are upholstered in Blusogno leather. Modern Pebble Grey piping on the seats and the corresponding 12 o’clock marking on the GT sports steering wheel pick up on the bright accents of the exterior. The car’s document folder and key pouch are also made of Blusogno leather. In the 911, the gear lever is covered with Blusogno leather on the sides. Red trim strips on the storage compartments and in the trunk provide a contrast.

The dashboard and centre console of the 911 as well as the door mirrors of the Taycan are finished with Paldao wood in the exclusive Blusogno colour too. The large wooden surfaces in the door panels are divided by colour: the upper part in blue, the lower part in elegant black. In the 911, an aluminium inlay with a ‘40 Anni Porsche Italia’ logo further enhances the dashboard on the passenger side. In the Taycan, this logo is affixed to a special plaque in the centre console. A white illuminated Ferragamo logo is integrated into the door sill guards, which are made of black brushed aluminium.

The SportChrono clock at the top of the dashboard has a bespoke dial that plays with the colours of the Italian Tricolour in a subtly elegant way: the rings are green, white and red, and the second hand is red.

The sides of the vehicle key are painted in Blusogno. The edition also includes a custom-made indoor ca cover in the same colour with white piping, a coloured Porsche crest on the front, and white Ferragamo lettering on the sides.

  • Porsche 911 Spirit 70

    Porsche 911 Spirit 70

Exclusive Olive Neo colour, historically inspired decorative graphics and legendary Pasha pattern in the interior: Porsche presents the 911 Spirit 70 at the Shanghai Auto Show, a convertible limited to 1,500 units that embodies the essence of the 1970s and early 1980s.

Created as part of the Heritage Design strategy, this collector’s item is the third 911 model in which Porsche has revived an era with the help of iconographic design elements from earlier vehicles. The technical basis for the 911 Spirit 70 is the current 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet with efficient performance hybrid. In combination with the high-voltage system, the eTurbo and the electric motor in the new PDK, the newly developed 3.6-litre boxer engine achieves a system output of 398 kW (541 hp) and 610 Nm. The 911 Spirit 70 can be ordered immediately. It is expected to arrive at European dealerships from April 2025, with other markets to follow.

“The Heritage Design models occupy a special position within our product strategy from a design perspective,” says Michael Mauer, Vice President Style Porsche. “The limited-edition sports cars visualise what makes the Porsche brand so special. Every design of our vehicles ties in with our history – these vehicles go one step further. They show how we reinterpret historical design elements in a state-of-the-art sports car.”

“The limited-edition collector’s items are particularly desirable for our customers worldwide,” says Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualisation and Classic. “The first two models in the Heritage Design strategy have brought back the lifestyle of past decades and generated a great deal of enthusiasm. We are delighted with this success and are now proud to present the third, highly exclusive model.”

The Heritage Design models emphasise the ‘lifestyle’ dimension, which stands for particularly emotional concepts within the Porsche product strategy. The first model in the series was the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition presented in 2020 in the style of the 1950s and early 1960s. With the 911 Sport Classic, Porsche presented the second collector’s item from the Heritage Design strategy in 2022. This small series, limited to 1,250 units, revived the style of the 1960s and early 1970s.

The new 911 Spirit 70 pays tribute to Porsche’s enhanced corporate strategy. The sports car manufacturer wants to further expand its customisation options: Porsche already offers more than 1,000 Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur options. Over the past five years, the average sales per vehicle with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur options have doubled. In order to fulfil even more individual customer dreams in the future, the capacity of the Exclusive Manufaktur is to be significantly expanded in the future.

Porsche Design has created a high-quality chronograph exclusively for buyers of the latest collector’s item. With numerous details, it is visually reminiscent of the 911 Spirit 70. For example, the shiny black Pasha pattern on the dial is inspired by the seat centre panel of its motorised role model.

The Porsche Lifestyle Collection matching the 911 Spirit 70 allows you to rediscover the 1970s in style and authenticity. The range of very special collector’s items includes a collection of daywear, sportswear, lifestyle accessories and model vehicles.

Exterior: Special colour concept and badges in historic style

The designers and paint experts at Porsche created the colour Olive Neo especially for the 911 Spirit 70 – a rich, deep green. Bronzite forms an exciting contrast to this colour. The lower rear section, the front section and the Sport Classic wheels in ‘Fuchs’ design are painted in this grey-gold colour. The soft top is black, as is the windscreen frame, emphasising the unique visual presence of the 911 Spirit 70.

Three decorative stripes in black silk gloss run across the bonnet. This detail is reminiscent of the safety stickers from the 1970s: back then, sports drivers applied longitudinal stripes to the bodies of their fast cars so that the sports cars were easier to see in the rear-view mirror at high speeds on the motorway or racetrack. The stripes are continued tone-on-tone on the soft top. The side decorative graphics with Porsche lettering and round start number field (‘Lollipop’) in black silk gloss and individual start number are a nod to the brand’s sporting tradition.

An example of the contrast between tradition and innovation can be found in the centre of the front bonnet: The 911 Spirit 70 bears a Porsche crest there that is almost identical to the historic crest from 1963. There are gold-coloured “Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur” badges on the front wings. The Porsche Heritage badge sits on the grille of the boot lid. Its design is reminiscent of the badge on the Porsche 356, which was awarded in the 1950s when the 100,000-kilometre mark was reached. Other unusual details include the gold-coloured Porsche lettering and the model designation at the rear. The lettering gets its extraordinary brilliance from the galvanised gold-plated surface.

Interior: With Pasha pattern and special instrument cluster

The highlight of the interior is the iconic Pasha fabric pattern in black/olive neo. The graphic design of the fabric is reminiscent of a moving chequered flag. Different sized, cleverly arranged rectangles create a kind of movement in the pattern. Instead of jacquard velour as in the past, the 911 Spirit 70 combines a textile with flock yarns. This gives the fabric an even sportier character, an improved feel and more comfort, especially on longer journeys.

The centre panels of the 18-way sports seats Plus, the door mirrors and even the inside of the glove compartment are covered in the Pasha pattern. The decorative inlays on the seat backrests and the trim on the dashboard are also available in Pasha as an option. The standard range also includes a reversible boot mat in Pasha. The elegant club leather trim in basalt black with decorative stitching in olive neo and the basalt black club leather interior package are also on board as standard.

The instrument cluster combines historic design with state-of-the-art technology. The high-resolution 12.65-inch display has white pointers and scale lines in analogue format. Green digits are reminiscent of the legendary Porsche 356 and the model lettering is elegantly integrated into the fully digital rev counter. White hands and green numerals also characterise the special version of the Sport Chrono stopwatch.

    Time travel to the 70s

Additionally, Porsche is offering a new app for the Apple Vision Pro. This allows users to immerse themselves in the 70s and design their dream vehicle.

Step by step, they can customize the Porsche 911 Spirit 70 and gain valuable insights into the iconic designs of that decade. The app will be available for free in the App Store for the Apple Vision Pro coinciding with the launch of the Porsche 911 Spirit 70.

  • Color Check: New Porsche 911 Carrera T Cabriolet in Gentian Blue Metallic

Color Check: New Porsche 911 Carrera T Cabriolet in Gentian Blue Metallic

The latest 992.2-generation Porsche 911 just dropped this morning and it’s the Carrera T. Not only that, but some great new T specification equipment was revealed, along with a whole new model – the 911 Carrera T Cabriolet.

Let’s focus on the specification first. We already dug into the color-matched blue graphics and wheels on the Pure White 911 Carrera T Coupe we featured just moments ago (HERE), and this Gentian Blue Metallic (enzianblaumetallic; metallic UNI; W96; Porsche) launch specification Cabriolet appears to adopt many of the same bits minus the blue exterior accents. The same handsome tartan seat surfaces, deviated stitching, colored dials and wooden shift knob carry over, making for a much richer Carrera T experience.

The biggest news is the addition of the 911 Carrera T Cabriolet. No doubt there’s market demand for this new model, but we’ll admit we’re a little perplexed. The heavier Cabriolet doesn’t really lend itself to the lightweight driver’s concept that is the Coupe. It’s more hardcore, and less weekend cruiser for towns with “Palm” in the name – looking at you Palm Beach and Palm Springs retirees. Maybe you want something edgy too though, and we have no doubt the Carrera T Cabriolet fits the bill. We just wish it was a 911 Speedster T.

    BEGIN PRESS RELEASE:

The new 911 Carrera T as a coupé or a cabriolet

    • Exclusively with six-speed manual transmission
    • Up to 42 kilograms lighter than the 911 Carrera
    • Available as a cabriolet for the first time
    • Rear-axle steering as standard and particularly agile tuning

The Porsche 911 Carrera T is about concentrating on the essentials. The focus on agility, lightweight construction and an emotive soundscape, as well as its six-speed manual transmission, make this the ideal Carrera for purists. Equipment packages specially tailored to the Carrera T offer stylish individuality. For the first time, the new version of the Carrera T is also available as a cabriolet.Stuttgart. Porsche is extending the model range of the new 911 with the addition of the light, dynamic 911 Carrera T. Weight-reduction measures, dynamic tuning and a six-speed manual transmission make this a puristic Carrera for superlative driving pleasure. With its lightweight windows, reduced insulation and six-speed manual transmission, the lightest configuration of the new 911 Carrera T, with full bucket seats, weighs just 1,478 kilograms. Equipped like that, the car is more than 40 kg lighter than the current 911 Carrera. For the first time, the 911 Carrera T is also available as a cabriolet.

The ‘T’ stands for Touring, and at Porsche this goes all the way back to the homologation of the 911 T as a touring car in 1968. The first 911 T was produced up to 1973. Since 2017, the 911 Carrera T has been back in the model range, positioned between the Carrera and the Carrera S. Pure driving pleasure, agile handling, emotive sound and a focus on the essentials are the distinguishing features of this rear-wheel drive sports car.

Powertrain: manual transmission and six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer
The 911 Carrera T is driven by the 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo boxer engine of the 911 Carrera. It delivers 290 kW (394 PS) and develops torque of up to 450 Nm. A standard six-speed manual transmission transfers the drive power to the rear axle. When shifting down, an intermediate throttle function (auto-blip) can be selected to automatically and specifically compensate speed differences between the engine and the gearbox. With the standard Sport Chrono Package, the Carrera T Coupé sprints to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (Cabriolet: 4.7 seconds). Its top speed is 295 km/h (Cabriolet: 293 km/h). In line with its increased power compared to its predecessor, the Carrera has a bigger braking system with an all-round brake disc diameter of 350 millimetres and six-piston fixed callipers at the front. In combination with the reduced interior insulation and the auto-blip function, the standard sports exhaust system makes for a particularly emotive soundscape.

Chassis and tuning: development exclusively for this model
As always, the Sport Chrono Package, which includes the Track Precision App, is part of the standard equipment of the 911 Carrera T. Additionally, for the first time Porsche is equipping the model with rear-axle steering as standard in combination with a more direct steering ratio on the front axle, thus significantly optimising handling. Lateral acceleration is generated faster and the steering responds more directly, while stability is simultaneously increased. The tuning of the rear-axle steering was developed specifically for the 911 Carrera T.

The PASM adaptive sports suspension, which is lowered by 10 mm, is also standard and has been given model-specific, sporty tuning to make the Carrera T even better, and even more agile, to drive. The standard rear-axle steering and an aerodynamic balance optimised exclusively for the 911 Carrera T have enabled the anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles to be tuned for neutral handling. The 911 Carrera T has 20/21-inch Carrera S light alloy wheels. The front tyres are 245/35 ZR20 and the rears are 305/30 ZR21.

    Exterior and interior
Numerous features distinguish the Carrera T from other models in the series. A sticker with the shift pattern logo on each of the triangular rear windows identify it as a manually-shifting and particularly purist representative of the model line. The model designations on the rear are in a contrasting colour, Vanadium Grey. The inlays on the rear lid grille, the upper and lower trim of the exterior mirrors, and the machine-polished light alloy wheels are painted in matching Vanadium Grey Metallic. Another feature of the Carrera T is the aerodynamically optimised spoiler lip taken from the 911 Carrera GTS.

For the Porsche Carrera T, the Legends colour scheme offers the body colours of Shade Green Metallic, Crayon, and Slate Grey Neo, while the Dreams colour scheme comprises Guards Red, Lugano Blue, Gentian Blue Metallic and Cartagena Yellow Metallic. The Shades colour scheme offers a choice of the more muted Jet Black Metallic, GT Silver Metallic and Ice Grey Metallic. Contrasts offers the solid Black and White colours. Further body colours are available via the Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus programmes. The top of the 911 T Cabriolet is optionally available in the colours Black, Red, Blue and Brown.

Sporty and black, with contrasting stitching on request, Porsche has given the interior of the Carrera T an emphatically purist look that’s typical of the T-model. The eye-catching stopwatch in the standard Sport Chrono Package is prominent on the dashboard. A number of special details emphasise the exclusivity of the 911 Carrera T as a manual sports car: the shortened gear lever is topped with an open-pore walnut laminated wood gear knob, which offers a special visual and tactile experience. In front of the gear lever is a badge with the ‘MT’ (Manual Transmission) logo. The shift pattern logo is printed on the passenger side of the dashboard. The list of standard equipment also includes the leather-upholstered and heated GT sports steering wheel, fitted with a mode switch. Alternatively, a Race-Tex steering wheel is also available. The decorative inlays in the dashboard and the centre console are Vanadium Grey, with the door panel inlays being black brushed aluminium.

Befitting the sporty character of its interior, the Carrera T has black, four-way electrically adjustable sports seats with Sport-Tex seat centres as standard. The tartan fabric pattern of the interior is exclusively reserved for the 911 Carrera T. The 911 logo is stitched into the headrests. Customers can order the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus (18-way adjustable) or particularly light full bucket seats as options.

Carrera T packages for exterior and interior
The exclusivity of the 911 Carrera T is further enhanced by the Carrera T design packages for the exterior and the interior. These come in the classic Porsche colour Gentian Blue to create a striking colour contrast. On the exterior of the car, the inlays in the rear lid, the Carrera T decals on the front and rear lids and doors, the MT stickers, and the light alloy wheels with a gloss-lathed front face come in this colour. The upper shells of the exterior mirrors are in Black. Contrast stitching in Gentian Blue, instead of the standard black stitching, enhances the interior and the seats also come with Gentian Blue contrast stripes. The same colour also adorns the seat belts, the trim of the centre console and the door panels, as well as the contrast inlays and the stitched 911 logos on the headrests.

    Ready for immediate order
The new Porsche 911 Carrera T can be ordered now, with prices starting at 141,700 euros including VAT and country-specific equipment. The 911 Carrera T Cabriolet costs 155,800 euros.

Color Check: New Porsche 911 Carrera T (type 992.2) in Pure White

The latest updated Porsche 911 of the 992.2 generation has dropped and it’s the Carrera T. And while the biggest news is likely the addition of a Carrera T Cabriolet (more on that in our next post), our focus is always the specification. Yes, this Carrera T is standard launch spec and about as blank canvas a paint as they come – Pure White (purweiß; nonmetallic UNI; Z99; Porsche), it’s the detail work that grabs our attention with the car.

The Carrera T has always been thick on value and driving experience within the 911 range, making it a strong contender for a 911 buyer seeking an entry-level GT car. From a specification standpoint though, it’s always been a bit bland and limited to a few stickers and its own wheel design that didn’t exactly draw attention. And while we’re not here to criticize the idea of a sleeper, the old Carrera T left us wanting a bit more. It seems that designers and product planners at Porsche seemed to agree, as the new car has some great unique and/or color-coded details such as dials, tartan seats, wood shift knoib, deviated stitching and even wheels.

With these changes, the new Carrera T really sets itself apart from the standard Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S. That’s not just important for Carrera T buyers, as it also likely ups the ideas and options for buyers of other 911s as they consider what sort of special wishes to ask of Porsche’s Sonderwunsch department.

Check out the full press release below including details on the Cabriolet, and check our blog for photos of the convertible version as we’re going to make a separate post about it. Regarding the Pure White launch specification coupe, we’ve gone ahead and formatted all available press photos and a few marketing shots dropped on social media channels in order to give you the best mix of images through which to see all these new OEM details. See that gallery at the bottom of this post.

The New 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring package

The 911 GT3 has offered the ultimate combination of racing genes and day-to-day usability since its introduction in 1999. To mark its 25th anniversary, the new model will launch simultaneously in two versions for the first time: as a track-focused sports car with a rear wing and as a more understated version with a Touring package. With tailor-made packages and innovative options, the GT3 variants can be further customised to the customer’s taste and intended use.

Porsche is relaunching the 911 GT3. The exceptionally track-ready road sports car makes its debut in its anniversary year with an expanded lightweight strategy, a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre boxer engine with 375 kW (510 PS) and 450 Nm, and new, highly customer-focused options. The Weissach package, available for the first time in the 911 GT3, offers even more custom configuration options for use on the track. In addition, the sports car comes with more extensive standard equipment and other options that further enhance its precision and sportiness.

    911 GT3 with modern styling

The new 911 GT3 models feature a sharpened design in the front and rear as well as adapted aerodynamics. In both variants, the re-contoured front diffuser, the refined shape of the spoiler lip and modified fins on the underbody increase downforce and optimise the air flow. Redesigned Matrix LED headlights, available on the 911 GT3 with an optional white accent ring, combine all the light functions of the 911 and eliminate the need for additional lights in the front apron. This enables an enlarged air inlet area and a clearly structured look. In the rear, the diffuser, air inlets and rear lid have been redesigned. The rear wing of the 911 GT3 has new angled sideplates.

Porsche uses specially developed, aerodynamically shaped trailing arms with a teardrop profile on the double-wishbone front axle. They increase downforce in the wheel arch at high speeds and improve brake cooling. To ensure that the downforce balance between the front and rear axles is maintained even when braking from high speeds, the suspension engineers have reduced pitching (antidive). On the new 911 GT3, the front ball joint of the lower trailing arm has been set lower on the front axle to facilitate this. The 911 GT3 has adopted these modifications from the current 911 GT3 RS. The 911 GT3 comes standard with 255/35 ZR 20 (front) and 315/30 ZR 21 (rear) sports tyres with improved wet grip; optionally, track tyres with road approval are available.

Touring package available from launch and even more customisable

With the model change, Porsche is defining the variants of the 911 GT3 even more clearly. For the first time, the popular Touring package will be available right from the market launch. The “Touring Package” designation goes back to an equipment variant of the 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7. It has been part of the GT3 programme since 2017. It’s even more distinctive in the new 911 GT3, as reflected in the “911 GT3 touring” logo on the rear lid grille. The 911 GT3 with Touring package dispenses with the fixed wing and thus preserves the timelessly elegant line of the 911. An extendable rear spoiler with a tear-off edge, the famed Gurney flap, and an adapted fin design on the underbody provide aerodynamic balance. The interior offers a high-quality leather interior and a classic sporty ambience.

For the first time, a rear seat system for the 911 GT3 with Touring package is available as an option. This allows the everyday sports car to be adapted even more individually to the wishes of the customer for maximum driving pleasure on winding country roads. “Particularly on winding country roads, you can clearly feel that the steering is even better tuned than its predecessor,” says Porsche brand ambassador Walter Röhrl. “It instils even greater confidence in the car because it responds more calmly from the centre position without losing any of its directness. The shorter gear ratio also significantly enhances driving pleasure on country roads.”

    Lightweight design throughout

Its low overall weight contributes to the agile and direct handling of the 911 GT3. The new 911 GT3 goes all-in on lightweight design. A new, silver-coloured lightweight aluminium wheel reduces the unsprung masses by more than 1.5 kg compared to the previous model. Optionally, magnesium wheels are available with the Weissach package or the Leichtbau (lightweight) package. They save nine kilograms. A new 40 Ah lithium-ion lightweight battery contributes to the athletic body mass index by shaving off another roughly four kilograms. In the lightest configuration, the new 911 GT3 weighs just 1,420 kilograms.

    Eight percent shorter gear ratio

The 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine in the new 911 GT3 has been designed for current, significantly stricter exhaust standards and equipped with two particulate filters and four catalytic converters. With this extremely powerful emission control system, Porsche also delivers a gripping soundscape. The engine power of the six-cylinder boxer engine was attained through a series of optimization measures. The cylinder heads have been revised, and the sharper camshafts of the 911 GT3 RS provide even more dynamic performance in the upper engine-speed range.

In addition, flow-optimised individual throttle valves and optimised oil coolers are used. The boxer continues to deliver 375 kW (510 PS). This means that each kilowatt of the revamped high-speed naturally aspirated engine only has to move 3.8 kilograms (2.8 kg/PS) in the lightest vehicle configuration. In addition, both the 7-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK) and the 6-speed GT manual transmission have a final drive ratio that is eight percent shorter than in the predecessor. Both gearbox options are available for both the 911 GT3 and the 911 GT3 with Touring package. The new 911 GT3 accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with PDK and reaches a top speed of 311 km/h (manual gearbox: 3.9 s; 313 km/h).

On the track, the new 911 GT3 enables even better control because it holds even steadier and handles better on bumps and when driving over kerbs thanks to the optimised damper tuning,” says brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister. “The anti-dive system noticeably reduces the pitching movement when braking. As a result, the balance of the car remains significantly more consistent under all conditions.”

    Innovative lightweight sports bucket seat

For the new 911 GT3, a new lightweight sports bucket seat with a folding backrest and a seat shell made of CFRP is available as an option. The seat is equipped with an integrated thorax airbag, electric height adjustment and manual longitudinal adjustment; a three-stage seat heater is available as an option. A part of the headrest padding can be removed. This improves ergonomics for most drivers when wearing a helmet during circuit use. The folding function of the backrest, which is activated via a loop, enables access to the optional rear seat system offered for the first time in the 911 GT3 with Touring package. As an alternative, you can order the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with electric 18-way adjustment.

The black two-seater standard cockpit in the new 911 GT3 is based on the design of the current 911 models. Unlike the Carrera models, however, the 911 GT3 is not started with a button, but still has a rotary ignition switch. An optionally available roll-over bar demonstrates the proximity to motorsport. The digital instrument panel in the centre supports the driver with a clearly structured display and control concept. Thanks to the contrasting colour scheme, the rev counter and stopwatch can be read in a flash. The “Track Screen” display mode reduces the digital displays to the left and right of the tachometer to key data on tyres, oil, water and fuel and indicates the optimal shifting time to the driver by way of a shift flash. If desired, the tachometer display can be rotated so that the cut-off speed of 9,000 rpm is at the 12 o’clock marking.

    Individual packages for 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 Touring

Porsche offers various equipment packages for the new 911 GT3. With the Weissach package available for the first time, the 911 GT3 is even more individually configurable for use on circuits. The anti-roll bar, coupling rods and shear panel on the rear axle are made of CFRP as are the roof, sideplates of the rear wing, exterior mirror top shell, mirror triangle and the airblades in the front area. Additional leather and Race-Tex upholstery enhance the look of the interior. For the first time, the upper side of the dashboard on the 911 GT3 is accordingly covered in anti-glare Racetex. CFRP door handles and storage nets optimise the interior door panels for a lightweight design. A CFRP roll cage and magnesium lightweight forged wheels are available as options.

For the 911 GT3 with Touring package, Porsche offers the Leichtbau package. Here, the roof painted in the exterior colour as well as the stabiliser, coupling rods and shear panel on the rear axle are made of CFRP. The lightweight magnesium forged wheels and the lightweight door panels are also part of the package. In conjunction with the standard 6-speed GT sports gearbox, the shortened gear lever from the 911 S/T is used. In front of the gear lever, a plaque with the inscription “Leichtbau” indicates the package.

For the 911 GT3 with rear wing, the Clubsport package for track use is available at no extra charge. It includes a bolted steel roll cage in the rear, a 6-point harness for the driver and a hand-held fire extinguisher. The optional lightweight sports bucket seats are a prerequisite for this.

“The new 911 GT3 has become even more exhilarating and individual. We dug into a wealth of details and gave it many features that our customers wanted. This allows the GT3 to be adapted even more specifically to the purpose or preferences of the driver,” says Andreas Preuninger, Head of GT Cars.

Exclusive chronograph is a “sports car for the wrist”

Exclusively for owners of the 911 GT3 and the 911 GT3 Touring, Porsche Design presents an exceptional timepiece that translates the design and performance of the sports car to the wrist. The 911 GT3 chronograph and the 911 GT3 Touring chronograph are equipped with the precise, COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200 movement, which has a flyback function. The ultra-lightweight titanium case, optionally with black titanium carbide coating, combines sports car design with modern watchmaking.

The GT3 design dial with yellow accents and hexagonal structure evokes the vehicle’s instrument panel, while the winding rotor is based on the design of the GT3 rims. The dial ring is available in all exterior colours of the 911 GT3 and the Touring package, as well as in the colours of the Paint to Sample programme. The band, crafted using original Porsche interior leather and thread, is also matched to the respective configuration of the vehicle.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 and the new Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring package can be ordered from the end of the year.

Porsche Teases First 992.2 GT Car (Likely GT3 and GT3 Touring) Confirms 10/18 Debut

Porsche is about to launch its first 992.2-based GT car, and it’s likely the updated freshening of the GT3 and GT3 Touring. To message that, they dropped this teaser image along with confirmation of a digital world premiere on October 18 at 18:30 CEST (12:30 EST).

How do we know it’s the GT3? Call it an educated guess. The image shows a car with no vented front fenders and a fixed rear wing. The statement by Porsche also confirms two versions of its first 992.2 “GT Car”… like say a GT3 and a GT3 Touring.

Of course, this being Tailored Driver, it’s also worth mentioning that Porsche stated, “Both (versions) have become even more emotional, offer customers even more individuality and come up with innovative detailed solutions.”
