What: 2014 Audi RS 7 Color: Verdant Green (verdantgrün; metallic UNI; LO6A; Audi) VIN: WUAW2AFC9EN903062 Mileage: 46,100 Price: $62,000 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: Private Party, Undisclosed, MI Listing:Link
Verdant Green is a color Audi borrowed from Bentley, the ultra luxurious British marque that’s a sibling to Audi in the Volkswagen Group. And while the hue looks natural on something Anglo and stately like a Continental GT, we’d also argue it looks the business on an RS 7.
This one is up for private party sale on AutoTrader. It does sport some modifications (those black wheels in the photos are clearly not factory), and the owner also sounds pretty specific about imperfections it has collected in its first 46,100 miles.

Every car has a story, and this Tailored RS 4 is no exception. Previously offered on Bring A Trailer before being withdrawn, this RS 4 was “structurally” damaged at Summit Point Motorsports Park- an unfortunate side effect of proper usage. In the roughly 13 years since repair, the car has been driven approximately 10,000 miles. Using Ed Bolian math, that’s a generally a decent way of saying that while the car may not be as it was when it left Neckarsulm, it’s certainly a hell of a lot better then when it left Summit Point, West Virginia. This certainly not the first somewhat risky proposition we’ve featured on Tailored Driver before, but we’re glass-half-full kind of people, and some among our faithful likely are as well. If that’s you, and you don’t mind rolling the dice, we think this Tailored Driver could be right up your alley.
We ran a check on this car and drew a blank. No information was available via our first check source. And while we can go to a contact at the factory for additional information, we try to only do that when we’re stumped. In this case, we’re not really stumped and are fairly certain the car is Cumulus Blue.
Dear Audi, can you please put a color code on your Monroney window stickers? The dealer in this case has the Monroney in the listing and so we include it below, but not including that information on the sticker doesn’t allow dealerships to know what they have… sometimes even Audi franchise dealerships… which seems like something a brand would want to fix. And don’t even get us started on taking the time to purchase or find an Audi exclusive car only to find the CGI rendering in your My Audi app is boring silver, while your boring factory colored Audi ins the same app are as-delivered correctly colored.
Okay, rant over. We think this car is Cumulus Blue. Fortunately, there aren’t a lot of colors in the Audi exclusive portfolio that are remotely close to this color. There’s also a Cumulus Blue Audi in one of our staff’s garages so we think we’ve got a better understanding than most about the many shades from white to Gulf Blue that a Cumulus Blue car can take.
Whatever the case, this is a handsome RS e-tron GT, so handsome in fact that Audi recently included this color on its own German market Audi exclusive information page. And while they car on that page is of the facelift J1.2 variety, it’s effectively the same car as this visually… all the way down to the wheels.
It’s a great spec. The apparently factory agrees. If you are looking for a really unique tailored EV, we’d add this one to the short list.
What: 2018 Audi RS 5 Coupé Color: Audi exclusive Nogaro Blue(nogaroblau; pearl effect UNI; Z5M; Audi) VIN: WUAPWAF53JA904798 Mileage: 42,442 miles Price: $46,590 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: Philadelphia, PA Listing: Carvana
It’s always fascinating when you find a tailored specimen on a mass platform like Carvana. Sort of like happening upon a Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt toy in a bin at Walmart, it makes for a delightful experience you’re not likely going to replicate anytime soon.
We’ve been watching CarMax for a while now, though have now added Carvana to our list as well after seeing the car’s former owner post about seeing his car on the mass market used car dealer’s site.
According to the claimed original owner, there are a few things to know about the car including some engine modifications and some mechanical needs it had when he owned it (apparently before he traded it). He says he’s open for further questions about the car but is unaffiliated and that Facebook post can be found HERE.
What: 2016 Audi S8 Color: Goodwood Green (goodwoodgrünperleffekt; metallic UNI; Z6X; Audi) VIN: WAUJSAFD8GN009652 Mileage: 86,230 Price: $34,900 CarFax:Link Window Sticker: N/A Location: Jaguar Land Rover Solon, Solon, OH Listing:Link
A car like the Goodwood Green Audi S8 you see here makes a compelling case for a number of different reasons. For starters, it’s a nearly ten-year old S8 (D4 generation) stemming from a time before diesel gate, meaning cost cutting at Audi and its parent the Volkswagen Group hadn’t yet truly begun. For many, this makes it relatively pinnacle in that era of great cars coming from a large manufacturer managing historically renowned marques.
Also, at nearly 10 years old (and 86,230 miles), this car slots in at a relatively affordable price. If you’re looking for a budget-level entry into the tailored automotive market, we’d definitely advise cars like this S8 be considered.
What: 2008 Audi R8 V8 Color: Audi exclusive Night Blue Metallic(nachtblau;metallic UNI; LZ5D; Audi) VIN: WUAAU34298N005625 Mileage: 83,200 miles Price: $68,000 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: San Francisco, CA Listing: Built for Backroads
It’s been 17 long years since Tony Stark drove an R8 in the first Iron Man, a defining moment that put Audi’s then-new R8 on the map. In fact, the R8 was somewhat of a media darling in the product placement sphere, spear-heading a massive push that will be studied in future Marketing and Advertising classes if it isn’t already. So it comes without shock that in-period buyers wanted to opt for something a bit more exclusive for their own R8. Highlights here are Audi’s Night Blue Metallic paint, and the ever-so-subtle R8 V10 side blades in Carbon Fiber. What does come with a shock though, is the price. Early V8 powered R8 models have suffered the wrath of depreciation, now trading for as much as a fully loaded Audi S3. When we’re this close to what we think could be the floor, now may be the time to add a Tailored R8 to your own fleet.
What: 2022 Audi RS Q8 Color: Audi exclusive Merlin Purple(merlinpurple; pearl effect UNI; 4B / LZ3W / Z3W; Audi) VIN: WU1ARBF14ND029378 Mileage: 26,523 miles Price: $103,942 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: Manheim, PA Link: Manheim Imports
The formula here is pretty simple. This is a well-appointed RS Q8 in Audi exclusive Merlin Purple with black wheels and black optics that mute the purple just enough. However, it doesn’t end there.
Beyond the factory spec, this RS Q8 also sports a few added extras. For starters, it’s got matte PPF that transforms the Merlin Purple to Matte finish while also protecting it. It’s also got some choice Audi Accessories like rubber mats and roof bars – nothing extreme, but some niceties you don’t need to purchase yourself should you pick this one up.
Sometimes, from the archives of the world wide web, we uncover something worth noting. We check forums, social posts, and even old dealer listings. That’s exactly what happened with this find. Lamborghini Newport Beach, thank you for posting those photos online; they’ve found their way to the Tailored Driver audience.
Here we have an Audi exclusive Frosted Glass Blue Metallic R8 V10 Performance Spyder. If you know your blues, you know this is not an original Audi color. This blue originates from Aston Martin’s “Q” special-order palette and has been adopted by Audi through its Audi exclusive program.
We weren’t able to source a color code from Audi, but looking at it’s origins at Aston Martin, the official color code is 6003D, also referenced as AST6003D or AM6003. This color is described as a light blue metallic with a subtle white flake, achieved using actual glass particles to create its unique shimmer.
While Audi does not publicly list a specific code for this color, a user on Reddit mentioned that the Audi/BASF code is DE01-2018-2218-4. However, this code may not be universally recognized.
Love it or hate, you’ll have to admit this is a pretty rare color for the 4 rings brand. In our research, we came across a few models wearing this Aston Martin blue, including a TT RS, RS 6 Avant, and RS 4 Avant. While this specific R8 is no longer for sale, we find the VIN in hopes of learning more. We didn’t get far. But if you’re up for a deep dive, the VIN is WUA4BCFX4L7900884. Let us know what you find.
What: 2002 Audi S4 Avant Color: Nogaro Blue(nogaroblau; pearl effect UNI; Z5M; Audi) VIN: N/A Mileage: 123,500 Price: $23,999 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: New Milford, CT Listing: Facebook
Okay, technically Nogaro Blue was a standard color offering on the B5 Audi S4. Even still, it’s rare enough and sought after enough by enthusiasts that it bears mentioning. Now throw in excellent specifications like Avant body (wagon in Audi speak) and manual transmission and we most definitely have a winner.
And while black leather with matching blue Alcantara may be the ultimate spec, we’re not going to hate on the light grey found in this car. Yes, it does show wear, but it’s a bold move that looks very period and incredible.
This one’s not exactly delivery miles, but the odometer is low for the age of the car. It’s well kept, and we’d argue it’s fairly priced. Check it out on Facebook Marketplace.
Audi AG showed off their new e-tron GT quattro this week. With likely no plans for American sale, the car is an interesting spec fitting in below the S e-tron GT in the brand’s fine-tuning of the e-tron GT range since the facelift was released. More importantly, it gave Audi the opportunity to show off some Audi exclusive specs.
For Audi exclusive watchers, that’s bit of a hack worth watching. On the Audi AG website, each model sub-page tends to get its own Audi exclusive photo set. Click on the e-tron GT range (S, RS, RS performance and now quattro) and you get a different spec.
In the case of the e-tron GT quattro, the spec is Cumulus Blue exterior paint. Inside, there’s Black Fine Napa Leather with contrast stitching and leather segmentation in Diamond Silver. It’s most definitely a handsome look.
