The new Bentley Flying Spur Speed cuts a perfect line between luxury barge and lithe sport sedan. Order up the appropriate specification, and the car looks authentically fantastic as either. For instance, take a sporting color like Neptune (neptune; metallic UNI; LK5W / 6502; Bentley), a sort of metallic take on French Blue, and add a healthy dose of brightwork delete and you have one highly sporting sedan indeed.

  • Sampling Bespoke: Bentley Mulliner

    Sampling Bespoke: Bentley Mulliner

It was just a simple social media post, but it was also an excellent way for Bentley to show where their tailoring process begins. When considering a Mulliner specification of your own choosing, clients start by choosing the colors and materials.

Will this wood trim look good with that leather, or blue metallic paint? Considering bold or subdued combinations and considering it all is done with sample materials such as these at your local Bentley dealer.

  • Color Check: Bentley Flying Spur in Damson over White Sand

Color Check: Bentley Flying Spur in Damson over White Sand

If there are brands that can pull off retro design cues such as numbers painted on grillework or two-tone paint, then they’re likely British and steeped in heritage. That’s not a large group of marques, and if we narrow it down to brands that can pull this off in a modern way then we’d challenge you to name anyone who does the latter better then Bentley.

Take for example this specification on the Flying Spur Speed, a combination of Damson (damson; metallic UNI; 6410; Bentley) over White Sand (whitesand; metallic UNI; LK1V; Bentley). A colorful combination it is not, but there’s something classic about this multi-shade and modern take on black over white… especially an incredible specification like this new Continental Flying Spur Speed that turned up on the brand’s Global Media Drive. Bentley has released photos of each car on location for the drive. This includes full build specifications. Going forward, we’re going to be color checking all of them, and first up is this particular specification.

Damson is a go-to black for Bentley, while White Sand appears to be a Silvery Beige white the duo-tone paintwork by Mulliner is accented on this car with blackware and black-painted 22-inch ten swept spoke wheels.

Inside, the cabin is a duo-tone Damson and Portland leather, dark-tinted Brushed Aluminum fascias and contrast stitching throughout.

Worth noting, the car also has several options that we’ll list here along with U.S. pricing. These include Mulliner Personal Commission – Duo Tone Paintwork ($33,325), ‘Naim for Bentley Premium Audio System ($9,615), Touring Specification ($7,890), Bentley Rotating Display ($6,955), Illuminated Flying ‘B’ in Black Gloss ($5,315), Flying Spur Blackline Specification ($5,175), Full Length Centre Console 4-Seat Configuration ($5,135), Wellness Seating ($4,670), Dark Tint Diamond Brushed Aluminum Fascia ($4,330), 22″ Ten Swept Spoke Wheels – Black Painted ($4,000).

Miami, FL — Bentley Americas proudly announces an extraordinary collaboration with Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy, the globally celebrated tattoo artist, responsible for the most famous designs on the most iconic people in the world. His company, Bang Bang Tattoo in New York City, recently debuted the revolutionary and groundbreaking tattoo ink technology called Magic Ink. This technology allows the user to “turn on” and “turn off” their tattoos using specific wavelengths of light, allowing clients the ability to change the image in their skin.

The collaboration launches with a one-off art car debuted during Miami Art Week, with a unique UV-activated design that unites two pioneers of artistry, both renowned for transforming their clients’ visions into highly personal projects through the co-creation process.

Bang Bang, together with his 35+ artists spanning 15 countries, immortalizes each client’s stories through tattoos. The process is akin to that of Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house bespoke and coachbuilding division, which crafts one-of-a-kind vehicles that embody the passions and individuality of their owners.

“This is an exciting exploration of the realm of artistic customization in an entirely new medium,” said Bang Bang. “Bentley offers a canvas as luxurious and transformative as my tattoo art. This project allows us to create a masterpiece that celebrates individuality in motion.”

Mike Rocco, President and CEO of Bentley Americas, remarks:
“Bentley has always pushed the boundaries to deliver the ultimate in craftsmanship, personalization and performance. This introduction with Bang Bang showcases our commitment to blending artistry and ingenuity to redefine what’s possible in bespoke luxury.”

A Unique Reveal at Miami Art Week 2024
During the Bentley Art in Motion showcase at Miami Art Week 2024, guests were immersed in a multi-sensory experience featuring projection mapping and UV light installations, inclusive of the groundbreaking UV vehicle wrap with patented ultraviolet printing akin to Bang Bang’s ‘Magic Ink’ technology. A Bentley Bentayga EWB was the canvas for  a striking co-created design led by Bang Bang and Bentley Mulliner designers, inspired by the polarities of the Bentley range and the new collaboration.

Design Consultant for Bentley Mulliner, Rich Morris, explains:
“Initially, the car’s façade presents harsh, tessellated shapes on the bonnet, symbolizing the tension one might feel at the start of a journey. As one moves along the car, these shapes transition into a fluid, structured ripple pattern along the sides, evocative of water droplets and creating Bentley’s signature Azure diamond motif. This seamless transition embodies the transformation of feelings from stress to serene satisfaction upon reaching one’s destination after driving in a Bentley.”

Simultaneously, Bang Bang’s influence injects dynamic energy and power, reminiscent of Bentley’s performance-focused Speed range. Illuminated during the reveal, ultraviolet ‘black lights’ unveil bold, animalistic artwork symbolizing unleashed potential. This vivid depiction complements the Bentley design by occupying negative spaces, creating harmony between tranquility and vigor. As a visual representation of their collaboration, this Bentley perfectly captures the essence of elegance and dynamic energy, setting a new standard for future innovations.

    Peak Personalization
Together, Bentley and Bang Bang redefine the meaning of customization, merging artistic innovation with automotive excellence. Bang Bang will offer his client a unique opportunity to incorporate their personal stories into a one of one Bentley.  From cherished memories to iconic imagery, the collaboration empowers one to transform a Bentley into a drivable expression of personal identity — the next iteration of Bentley x Bang Bang drops in 2025.

    • The Peninsula Hong Kong becomes the second Peninsula hotel to adopt Bentleys, following The Peninsula London which opened in 2023.

Crewe, England – Bentley Motors is proud to have delivered a fleet of four personalised Bentayga EWB Azure SUVs to The Peninsula Hong Kong, the Flagship of The Peninsula Hotels that opened in 1928. Following the arrival of four bespoke Bentayga Hybrid’s at The Peninsula London earlier this year, the original and founding Peninsula hotel has chosen to bolster its fleet of chauffeur-driven house cars to include the extended-wheelbase Bentayga, which offers a larger cabin than any other luxury competitor.

The four cars were specified by The Peninsula in conjunction with the Design team in Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house bespoke and coachbuilding division. The designs make the cars instantly recognisable as Peninsula vehicles, while showcasing the exquisite handcrafted quality provided by Bentley’s craftspeople and artisans at its Dream Factory in Crewe, England.

Starting with the wellness-focused Azure specification for maximum onboard comfort, the team specified the unique exterior shade of Peninsula Green, mastered from sample by Bentley’s Paint Shop. The rich, dark green extends to painted brightware to the lower body and the matrix grilles in the lower bumper apertures, bringing a clean, modern, colour-blocked look. The dark tone is offset by a two-piece coachline in the golden tone of Honey, with the two lines tracing the power line and haunch of the Bentayga EWB’s side profile. The front doors then feature The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited emblem, the parent company of The Peninsula Hong Kong and owner and operator of The Peninsula Hotels

The 4+1 configuration interior is a modern interpretation of classic Bentley themes. The majority of the cabin is trimmed in Saddle leather, with contrast Beluga leather being used atop the door waistrails, across the top of the dashboard and for the steering wheel. The warm tones of Burr Walnut pair the two leather colours perfectly, used across the dash fascias, along the waistrails and to a pair of veneered picnic tables to the backs of the front seats.

Embroidered Bentley emblems in Saddle are added to all four seats, and the cars feature Mood Lighting and Rear Seat Entertainment – allowing rear cabin occupants to work, browse the internet or stream content on the move.

Final Mulliner touches include bespoke towel bins and tissue boxes fitted to the rear door pockets, additional USB charging sockets in the rear cabin, 70mm metal signage in the rear armrests, picnic tables, front seat backs and headlining, and bespoke ‘THE PENINSULA” illuminated treadplates.

The four cars commenced service in late November 2024 as part of The Peninsula Hong Kong’s immaculate chauffeur service.

Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Bentley Motors commented, “On behalf of Bentley Motors, it was a pleasure to present these four magnificent bespoke Bentaygas to The Hon. Sir Michael Kadoorie and The Peninsula Hong Kong. The team of artisans at our Dream Factory in Crewe, England, which individually handcrafted and personalised these cars are rightly proud of the end result, and we are delighted that The Peninsula Hotels continues to adopt Bentleys into their chauffeur fleets.”

    • Four bespoke Continental GT Speed Convertibles show range of creative possibilities offered by Mulliner Personal Commissioning
    • Each design inspired by the stunning landscapes, scenery and skies around Palm Springs
    • Satin exterior finishes, stone fascia veneers and one-off blind embossed upholstery among the many bespoke features
    • 75 per cent of Bentley customers now add Mulliner content to their car

    [source: Bentley]

Crewe, England – ‘Expressions of Texture’, a collection of four Continental GT Speed Convertibles, provides a visual and tactile showcase for the creative possibilities offered by Mulliner Personal Commissioning. The Collection was a co-creation between Bentley Rancho Mirage and the Mulliner bespoke team, each side inspiring the other to greater heights of creativity.

All four models are specified in satin paint from Mulliner’s 15-colour range, with each finish taking up to 55 hours of painstaking craftsmanship. Other exceptional features include wafer thin 200-million-year-old stone veneers, and blind embossed upholstery whose design reflects the landscapes of the Colorado Desert’s Coachella Valley.

    Reflections of landscape
The desert resort city of Rancho Mirage is set amid the varied and spectacular landscapes of the Coachella Valley, with arid desert, vivid greenery and rugged, age-weathered mountains all within easy driving distance. This variety provided the inspiration for the team at Bentley Rancho Mirage, expressed through the specifications of the four Continental GT Speed Convertible models in the Expressions of Texture Collection.

The clear, star-studded night skies of the Coachella Valley inspired a Continental GT Speed Convertible in Peacock Blue satin, the exterior subtly enhanced by a tri-tone Styling Specification featuring satin carbon fibre, Electro Blue and Peacock Blue. For the interior, a two-tone fascia in Peacock Blue satin is paired with Slate stone veneer and divided by an Electro Blue pinstripe, the same colour outlining the bullseye air vent vanes and headrests. Other exquisite details include Serenity quilting on the seat uppers and tonneau cover.

The rippling, fluid forms of sand dunes sculpted by the desert wind are reflected in another model from the collection, finished in Ghost White Pearl satin with Tungsten wheels and featuring a Silver Tempest pinstripe. The blind quilting of the seat uppers and tonneau cover was created specifically for this model, their flowing graphics inspired by the desert dunes. A fascia and console in Ghost White Pearl satin over Autumn Stone veneer is a masterclass in subtle sophistication.

The inspiration for a Havana satin Continental GT Speed Convertible came from the rugged mountains that surround the Coachella Valley and their earthy tones in the glow of the setting sun. The interior of Cognac and Burnt Oak hide is enhanced by bespoke, blind quilted seat backs and tonneau cover whose design represents the topographic features of California’s Death Valley. The same topographic map design is even carved in 3D on the floor mats, while the fascia and console feature the exterior finish of Havana satin over Copper Stone veneer, divided by a pinstripe in Bronze.

Adventures in colour, texture and form
All four models in the ‘Expressions of Texture’ Collection, which also includes a Continental GT Speed Convertible in British Racing Green satin, demonstrate that the choice of colour is just one element in the personal commissioning journey. The tactile softness of Dinamica upholstery, the cool touch of stone veneer and the yielding contours of quilting all offer customers a limitless palette of creative possibilities.

Mulliner’s Chief Commercial Officer, David Parker comments, “We hope that the Expressions of Texture Collection will inspire customers to explore the full range of possibilities offered by the Personal Commissioning Guide. At Mulliner we believe that whatever our customers can imagine, we can create.”

First Bentley Speed Six Delivery in 94 Years, as a Blower Finishes a 24 Hour Race

    • First Speed Six customer car since 1930 leaves the Mulliner workshop
    • The first of 12 Speed Six Continuation Series cars, each handcrafted over the course of eight months
    • Follows completion of development programme in July
    • Destined for an existing Blower Continuation Series customer in the USA, and curated in a classic Parsons Napier Green specification
    • Meanwhile, a Blower Continuation Series customer car completes a 24 hour endurance race at Portimão as part of the ‘Benjafield’s 24’
    • The achievement marks the first time a factory-built Bentley Blower has ever finished a 24-hour race

    [source: Bentley]

Crewe, England – The first customer Speed Six Continuation Series car has been completed, and is soon to be dispatched to the USA – marking the first delivery of a new Bentley Speed Six since 1930. Existing Mulliner customer John Breslow will be the first person to receive his Speed Six as a racing companion to his Blower Continuation Series.

Commissioned just over 12 months ago, the classically curated Speed Six is resplendent in Parsons Napier Green bodywork on top of a black-painted chassis. The iconic face of the Speed Six is dominated by the twin round headlamps, finished in Chrome with a protective mesh and separated by a large number ‘4’ on the radiator.

Crafted by hand from scratch, each car takes eight months to complete, with the expert team of Mulliner technicians and artisans working closely with a network of specialist suppliers across the UK to recreate every detail of the original Speed Six with exactitude.

The cockpit is as authentic as the exterior, with every gauge, switch and control exactly as per the specification of the Speed Sixes that raced at – and won – Le Mans in 1930. Leather trimmed in a rich deep brown with dominant red tones, the Rust leather and carpet pair seamlessly with the Parsons Napier Green to the exterior.

At the start of the project, the Mulliner Classic team visited the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire, to verify the five authentic period Parsons Paints that are available to customers. Over 600 individual new parts, including a new engine block casting, were fabricated for the new 6½ Litre race spec engine, which at the time developed 200 bhp. Dyno testing has shown the Continuation Series engines to develop 205 bhp; while higher outputs have been achievable with the aid of modern engineering materials (as many classic racing teams do), the aim of the Continuation Series team was to create a Bentley exactly as it would have looked and performed in 1930.

The Speed Six is regarded as one of the most important Bentleys in history, being the most successful Bentley racing car ever produced. Using the same manufacturing processes as the original car from the late 1920’s, the Speed Six is the second pre-war Continuation Series by Mulliner, Bentley’s bespoke and coachbuilding division.

The Blower Continuation Series was the first pre-war continuation series ever created, and has been built by hand using a combination of modern laser-scanned data and original drawings. Both the blueprints and the 3D data were taken from the 1929 4½-litre supercharged Team Car #2 – the most famous Bentley in the world, and one of the icons of the Bentley Heritage Collection.

Famous for pushing Bentley’s main competitor Mercedes-Benz to the point of breakdown in the Le Man 24 hour in 1930, the Bentley Blower was known for outright pace – at the sake of reliability – whereas the Speed Six was known for its dependable performance.

To celebrate Bentley’s first ever win at the Le Mans in 1924, the Benjafield Racing Club hosted a 24 hour endurance event at the famous Algarve circuit of Portimão. The event consisted of 25 period Bentleys, piloted by 87 club members, with one of the competitors being a Blower Continuation Series customer car, entered into the event by its dedicated owner. In a defining moment for the Blower family and of the Continuation Series, the car completed the race – becoming the first factory built Blower to ever finish a 24-hour event, and highlighting the quality of engineering behind the world’s first pre-war continuation series.
