Crewe, England – Bentley Motors is proud to announce the continuation of its creative collaboration with acclaimed British fashion designer, Supriya Lele, unveiling a new bespoke colour, Nīla Blue, which will be available exclusively to Mulliner customers. Deeply inspired by Lele’s Indian heritage, Nīla Blue draws its name from the Sanskrit word for “sapphire” and represents a seamless blend of personal history and artisanal craft. This distinctive hue, infused with personal and cultural significance, represents the seamless fusion of automotive luxury and high fashion, reflecting the ultimate in craftsmanship, innovation, and personalised expression.

Bentley Mulliner is renowned for its ability to craft virtually any colour imaginable. Whether inspired by the world of fashion, art, or personal memory, Mulliner’s artisans work closely with each client to develop bespoke paints that reflect individual vision and style. Nīla Blue stands as an example of how Mulliner can create something wholly unique, translating a client’s aspirations into a lasting expression of craftsmanship.

Known for her sensual, delicately crafted, and body-celebrating silhouettes, Lele has always been inspired by the colour blue, a shade she frequently uses in her fashion collections. Her connection to the colour is rooted in her Indian heritage and further influenced by William Gass’s 1976 philosophical treatise ‘On Blue,’ which explores the symbolic significance of blue in relation to themes of sex, sleaze, and sadness. This bespoke hue, subtle yet distinctive, echoes the sense of luxurious restraint and enduring elegance that defines both her collections and Mulliner’s design philosophy.

To showcase Nīla Blue,  Supriya co-created a one-of-one specification, working with Mulliner designers to explore the possibilities of personalisation through bespoke finishes. A bespoke Bentayga S provides a stunning canvas, to display the uniquely commissioned Nila Blue. The lower brightware has been matched with the rest of the exterior paintwork and using the freshly commissioned blue, a pinstripe has been added to the 22” sports style wheels. A bright Mulliner White accent to the carbon fibre bodykit provides a contrast that is echoed through to the interior. The interior includes a multitude of bespoke features, from the satin black Naim audio speaker grilles to the open pore black stained crown cut walnut veneers, all bordered by the Nila Blue edging. This exclusive edition embodies the bold and elevated confidence that defines Lele’s fashion work, featuring luxurious and experimental fabrication that evolves the fluid silhouettes synonymous with her label.

Supriya Lele, commented: “Creating the colour for Bentley has been an exciting and special experience. Colour plays a key role in both my practice and brand identity. This shade of blue feels distinctive yet subtle, slightly different from the usual. It’s this nuanced difference—the inability to exactly define it—that I love about creativity. I incorporate this subtlety into my work, so collaborating with Bentley to bring this unique color to life using my own references and brand has been truly rewarding.”

David Parker, Chief Commercial Officer at Mulliner, commented: “The Bentley Mulliner Bespoke Studio continues to push the boundaries of what is possible. This collaboration invites customers to explore a world where the only limits are those of the imagination. Nīla Blue is an expression of subtlety and depth, a tone that reflects both Supriya’s artistic vision and Mulliner’s expertise in crafting the finest bespoke finishes. It is a hue that speaks to the discerning tastes of those who appreciate quiet luxury.”

Nila Blue is available to customers exclusively via the Mulliner Bespoke Studio. Enquiries can be made through Bentley retailers.

Bentley Batur Convertible W12 Begins Sign-off Journey

    • Pair of Batur Convertible development cars begin final development trails across Europe
    • 16 Batur Convertible examples among the last W12-powered Bentleys, after the retirement of the engine in July
    • Extensive whole vehicle development program includes 120 individual tests over more than a year
    • Testing opens with 3,000 km drive from Germany to Spain, ahead of high-speed assessment at Idiada proving ground
    • Both development cars reflect the choices available to Mulliner customers, with bespoke colours and finishes to every single surface of both the cabin and the exterior

    [source: Bentley]

Crewe, UK – The most powerful W12-engined Bentley – the highly exclusive Batur Convertible – has begun its final suite of sign-off testing. Created by Mulliner, Bentley’s in house bespoke division and the longest standing coachbuilder in the world, the Batur Convertible is the third car in Mulliner’s Coachbuilt family, following the Bacalar barchetta and the Batur coupe. Strictly limited to just 16 units, the Batur Convertible is the most powerful W12-powered drop-top Grand Tourer in Bentley’s history.

Bentley announced the retirement of the W12 engine earlier this year, with the last engine leaving the production line in July. The 16 customer examples of the Batur Convertible will be among the recipients of the final W12 engines, each producing 750 PS as the most powerful iteration of the engine ever developed.

The validation activities include durability for both the engine and whole vehicle, environmental compatibility and sunlight simulation, high speed stability, aerodynamics, noise and vibration, and driving dynamics. More than 120 individual tests in all cover everything from the quality of the surface finish of the gold “organ stop” ventilation controls to the new W12 engine hardware and software.  Over 58 weeks of vehicle validation have been scheduled across  a pair of pre-series cars – Batur Convertible Car Zero and the Batur Convertible Engineering Car.

The real-world testing campaign started with an extensive 3,000 kilometre , five-country drive across Europe to simulate real world conditions. The route left Germany and travelled through Italy, France and Spain, across mountains, highways and cities, with the cars pausing briefly for an afternoon in Monaco for photography before continuing their journey to Idiada in Spain, where high speed testing will begin on private test tracks.

Paul Williams, Chief Technical Officer for Mulliner, comments:
“The purpose of an engineering validation public road drive is to test a vehicle’s performance, safety, and reliability under real-world conditions. It allows our engineers to assess how the vehicle operates in a variety of environments, traffic scenarios, and weather conditions that cannot be fully replicated in controlled testing environments. This stage is critical for identifying potential issues, validating system integration, and ensuring the vehicle meets regulatory standards and customer expectations as part of the engineering development test program. At the start of the project it was clear that this car had to be the ultimate open-air Grand Tourer and so every element from the exterior design, engine power and hand-crafted interior has been created without compromise.”

At the proving grounds, the Batur Convertibles will begin seven weeks of durability work on handling tracks, mixed road conditions, high speed testing and abusive surface conditions. During all of these activities data and feedback are collated ensuring the technical targets are being met.

    The Final W12 Grand Tourer
The Batur Convertible furthers the innovative design DNA introduced by its coupe sibling that will ultimately guide the design of Bentley’s future cars.

Created by Mulliner, the Batur Convertible follows the exquisitely hand-crafted Bacalar barchetta and Batur coupe. With the Batur Convertible, Mulliner continues its long tradition of crafting truly individual cars, tailored to the wishes of each of its extraordinary clients.

The Batur Convertible retains the most powerful version of Bentley’s iconic W12, with a 750 PS, hand-assembled 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine that has metaphorically and literally powered Bentley’s success for the last two decades. The Batur Convertible will be the last ever Bentley to use this incredible powertrain.

The convertible roof delivers an aesthetic of beauty as a modern, tactile alternative to a hardtop roof. A combination of insulation material, sealing system refinements and acoustic treatments create a cossetting environment in a system which can be deployed or stowed in just 19 seconds, with the car travelling at speeds of up to 30 mph (50 km/h), transforming the car from a luxurious coupe into an open-top Grand Tourer at the touch of a button.

Mulliner’s in-house design team will help co-create every Batur Convertible with its customer, working together through a specially created Mulliner visualiser that allows any part of the car to be customised in colour and surface finish. Endless samples of unique materials bring texture to the process, and the resulting designs will be truly individual and created by the customer – limited only by their imagination.

    Batur Convertible Car Zero
Like all Mulliner Coachbuilt vehicles, the Batur Convertible is infinitely customisable – with each customer able to specify the colour and finish of literally every single surface of both the exterior and cabin of the car.

The engineering development car – Batur Convertible Car Zero – has had the same level of attention to detail as a customer’s own specification. The exterior paintwork is a bespoke colour – Vermillion Gloss over Vermillion Satin Duo tone – that provides a vibrant colour across the contemporary surfaces. The bodywork is underscored by front splitters, side skirts and rear diffuser in high gloss carbon fibre.

The front of the car features a grille of exceptional art – with the main matrix finished in Gloss Dark Titanium, accented with contrast chevrons in a horizontal ombré pattern that flows from Beluga in the centre and lighten to the vibrant sides in Vermillion Gloss. The “endless bonnet” line is finished in Gloss Dark Titanium paint, as are the 22” wheels – with the spokes in Gloss and Satin Black Titanium with Vermillion Gloss accents.

The second development car – known simply as the ‘Engineering Car’, features an entirely different specification. Midnight Emerald exterior paintwork is finished with a high gloss carbon fibre body kit and Satin Dark Titanium finished bonnet brightware and lower bumper meshes The wheels are tri-tone – with a Satin Dark Titanium body, gloss Porpoise accent faces and gloss Mandarin pinstripe. The same combination of Satin Dark Titanium and Mandarin is joined by gloss Beluga for the three-colour ombré fade to the front grille. The cabin echoes the exterior, with Cumbrian Green and Porpoises leather being accented with Mandarin stitching and piping, complemented with machined titanium Organ Stops and Bullseye vents. The veneer is Mulliner’s exquisite “guitar fade”, where the colour across the width of the cabin changes gradually from gloss Beluga, to high gloss carbon fibre, and back to gloss Beluga, and finished with a laser-etched audio signature of the W12 engine.

Color Check: Bentley Continental GTC Speed First Edition in Bronze

As part of the Global Media Drive for the new Continental GT Speed in Andermatt Switzerland, Bentley has released photos of each car on location for the drive. This includes full build specifications. Over the last few days we’ve been color checking all of them, and our final specification is this tasteful brown droptop.

Technically, the Mulliner hue is known simply as Bronze. Whether bronze (little B) or brown we really don’t care. It’s attractive, and that is especially so when paired with granite painted exterior brightware and machined 22-inch ten swept spoke wheels.

The specification gets even better on the inside where the monotone cabin is Cumbrian Green leather with Camel accents, dark tint Engine Turned Aluminum fascias and contrast stitching throughout.

Worth noting, the car also has several options that we’ll list here along with U.S. pricing. These include First Edition Specification ($41,190), Carbon Ceramic Brakes with Painted Calipers ($18,820), Extended Range Solid and Metallic Paint ($8,655), 22-inch Ten Swept Spoke Wheels ($4,000) and Contrast Stitching ($3,930).

First Edition Specification includes Touring Specification, Front Seat Comfort Specification, Front Wellness Seating including postural and lumbar adjustment, Naim Audio, Bentley Rotating Display, Technical Veneer Choice or Single Finish Veneer, Animated LED Welcome Lamps by Mulliner, Mood Lighting Specification, Deep Pile Overmats front and rear, First Edition Exterior Badge, First Edition Treadplates, First Edition Embroidery to Seats, Garage Door Opener and Valet Key.

Front Seat Comfort Specification (included in First Edition Specification) includes Adjustable Seat Bolsters, Adjustable Seat Cushion Length, Power Adjustable Headrest, Ventilation and Massage, Heated Front Armrest and Hide Trimmed Seat Belt Buckles.

Touring Specification (included in First Edition Specification) includes Lane Guidance, Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control, Night Vision and Head-up Display.

Crewe, United Kingdom – Bentley’s new portfolio of daily supercars expands today with the addition of the Mulliner versions to the fourth-generation Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur, from Bentley’s bespoke division. Building on the specification of the performance-focused Speed models with the addition of even more options and luxury details, the Mulliner range offers a striking visual difference with bespoke craftsmanship, increased wellness features and additional technology as standard. The Mulliner versions define the pinnacle models of each of Bentley’s newest product families.

To the exterior, all models receive a new Mulliner signature ‘Floating Diamond’ radiator grille with chrome surround and centre bar, chrome lower grilles, chromeware to the side of the car and chrome-finish tailpipes. The chromeware is complemented by Satin Silver mirror caps. Alternatively, all of the exterior chrome and the mirror caps can be specified in gloss black, through selection of Mulliner Blackline. The Mulliner range also includes a specifically designed 22” wheel in two different finishes, Tungsten Grey or gloss black, both with polished accents and finished with self-levelling Bentley Mulliner wheel badges.

For the Continental GT Mulliner and GTC Mulliner, the fourth-generation face of the car features twin single headlamps with a new, unique and highly intricate ‘cut crystal’ reflector, while a Mulliner badge is fitted to the front wings. For the Flying Spur Mulliner, the Flying B radiator mascot is included as standard (with chrome or black finish), as well as a new Mulliner wing vent with double-diamond detailing.

Welcome and Coming Home light sequences featuring an animation of the Bentley wings are among the many other delightful Mulliner features, as are red-tinted tail lamps (replacing the grey-tinted lamps of the Speed).

Mulliner illuminated outer treadplates and deep-pile overmats welcome passengers inside the ultimate Bentley cabin, which offers a Mulliner curation of custom-made, three-colour combinations. The sumptuously trimmed cockpit is complemented by accent colour piping and unique Mulliner embroidery to the hand-stitched seats with a newly designed Mulliner diamond perforation pattern. For the Continental GTC Mulliner, the new stitching pattern extends to the tonneau cover, visible whenever the seven-bow fabric roof is lowered. New standard features for the Mulliner range also include Wellness seating with Postural Adjust and Auto Climate to the front seats (and to the rear in the Flying Spur), minimising fatigue and providing a level of relaxation and onboard wellness that is truly unique.

The Mulliner design theme continues in the LED driver’s instrument panel, with stylish and exclusive graphics. The now famous Bentley Rotating Display, sports pedals, heated duo-tone three-spoke steering wheel and panoramic sunroof for the Flying Spur and Continental GT add further to the luxurious ambience.

Mulliner models receive leather-bound keys in a unique, Mulliner-branded handcrafted presentation box, matching the three-colour cabin configuration of their car. The two keys are provided in colour-matched cases with contrast stitching.

All of the Mulliner range also include Touring Specification, Colour Specification, animated welcome lamps, mood lighting and Grand Black veneers with a Mulliner overlay. Customers may opt for any of Bentley’s other mainstream veneers in lieu of Grand Black, at no cost.

Visual delight and hand crafted opulence

The interior of the new Mulliner models is a masterclass of craftsmanship showing painstaking attention to detail. A wide choice of new Mulliner-designed hide colour splits is further enhanced by a third accent colour in the form of a distinctive design line.

The new Mulliner models are offered with Comfort Seat Specification, available for all four seats of the Flying Spur Mulliner and the front two seats on the two-door Continental models. Wellness functions such as Postural Adjust and Seat Auto Climate minimise fatigue and promote a sense of relaxed comfort even on the longest journeys. The wellness and comfort of driver and passengers is further enhanced by an air conditioning system that now includes air ionisers, a new particulate matter filter and displays showing air quality outside and inside the vehicle. The system synchronises with the car’s satellite navigation, knowing when it might be necessary to improve cabin air quality (for example by recirculating the cabin air when in a tunnel).

    Abundant power and refinement

As befits such pinnacle models, the new Continental GT Mulliner, Continental GT Convertible Mulliner and Flying Spur Mulliner feature Bentley’s remarkable new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain, shared with the Speed versions. The new powertrain combines a new 4.0 litre V8 engine capable of producing 600 PS (584 bhp) with a 190 PS (187 bhp) electric motor. Peak system output is 782 PS (771 bhp) and 1000 Nm (738 lb ft) of torque. The new powertrain delivers extreme performance and sets the latest Bentleys apart from their competition – with more horsepower, more torque and a significant drop in CO2 and fuel consumption figures to around one tenth of equivalent conventional petrol powertrains. In turn, this provides an extraordinary range of driving capability, from extreme but daily supercar performance to effortless electric luxury.

At one extreme, it’s capable of serene, silent progress in pure EV mode for up to 50 miles (81 km) for the Continental GT (47 miles (76 km) for the Flying Spur), ideal for Zero Emission Zones or city travel. Full electric mode can be deployed at speeds of up to 87 mph / 140 km/h, with throttle applications of up to 75 per cent. The battery can be fully replenished in as little as 2¾ hours thanks to significant improvements in charger and battery capacity, with 11 kW peak charging power.  When more spirited driving is desired, the combined 782 PS of Bentley V8 and e-motor delivers sensational performance. Complementing the power of the new Ultra Performance Hybrid is a new dual valve damper system and dual chamber air springs, which enables more sophisticated tuning options. The result is that the new Mulliner models can achieve an even more impressive combination of performance, handling, and magic carpet refinement.

    A palette of choice

For all three Mulliner models, customers can choose from a paint range of 101 colours, though this can be expanded to any colour from Bentley’s past, and bespoke paint-matching is also available. For the interior, 15 primary hide colours, 11 secondary shades and 6 accent colours offer endless colour combinations, while Mulliner can also utilise bespoke shades of leather to expand the range even further. The leathers are joined by eight wood veneer options and a further three technical finishes – which can be utilised as single or dual finishes and can also be paint matched to any interior hide or exterior paint colours.

    Seamless integration of technology

All models benefit from the latest generation of electrical architecture, providing a significant step forward in infotainment and driver assistance technology. This technology is the most advanced in the luxury segment and includes an environment display (shown in the driver’s instrument panel) that supports and enables driving in semi-assisted mode. The ownership experience is further enhanced via My Bentley App Studio, Bentley’s digital ecosystem for customers. This offers access to a wide variety of vehicle and third-party applications which can be downloaded directly to the infotainment system, independent of a smartphone.

  • Color Check: Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner in Grey Violet

Color Check: Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner in Grey Violet

Do you spell “grey” G-R-E-Y or G-R-A-Y? Stylistically we tend to go with the E for a bit of British flair, so we’re thrown off when Bentley goes with an A. Take for instance this Facebook post by Bentley depicting one incredible looking FlyingSpur by Mulliner.

The color in question is Grey Violet (a.k.a. Gray Violet to Bentley’s social media team). Whatever your vowel preference, we can probably all agree that Grey Violet is a great-looking medium purple, especially when paired with high gloss black and polished silver adornments. It’s a great spec.
