Porsche enthusiast and horse breeder Jorge Carnicero will soon have a new unique specimen in his stable. As part of the Porsche Sonderwunsch program, a comprehensively customized 911 S/T in Dani Blue has been created. The Kentucky-based sports car collector named the color after Color & Trim designer Daniela Milošević, who developed the shade of paint special for this car. One striking feature of the interior is the tricolor pepita pattern on the seat centers. Like the extensive leather upholstery in Graphite Blue, the pattern complements the blue color of the exterior paintwork. The 911 S/T in Dani Blue will be a featured highlight for Porsche this year at Monterey Car Week.
The sports car collector from the US state of Kentucky named the colour exclusively developed for him after Colour & Trim designer Daniela Milošević. One striking feature of the interior is the tricoloured pepita houndstooth pattern on the seat centres. Like the extensive leather upholstery in Graphite Blue, the pattern runs with the blue colour of the exterior paintwork. The 911 S/T in Dani Blue will be one of the highlights of the Monterey Car Week (15 to 17 August 2024) before Porsche hands the car over to its long-standing customer.
“Blue has always been my colour. I was never a fan of green,” Jorge Carnicero already revealed during one of his previous projects with Porsche. That highly individual 911 GT3 Touring was based on the millionth 911, which had rolled off the line in Irish Green in 2017. Despite Carnicero’s preference, this model from four years ago ended up green after all – British Racing Green.

Atlanta. During the configuration of a 911 S/T, the sports car collector Jorge Carnicero asked the color experts at Porsche to create a special blue that would suit the sporty, pure character of the limited anniversary model. With its ‘Paint to Sample Plus’ program, Porsche lets customers develop colors based entirely on their own ideas. It is rare for the designers at Style Porsche to be involved in the configuration process of a single vehicle, but they were in this case.
Elaborate development of Dani Blue in ‘Paint to Sample Plus’
“Before getting started, we had four “paint frogs” painted in iconic blue colors,” Color & Trim designer Daniela Milošević said, recalling the beginning of this Sonderwunsch project. Paint frogs are miniature cars in the form of a current 911 that enable the effect of colors on a larger 3D body to be better assessed. Enamel Blue soon emerged as the general favorite. This was the color of the Porsche 901 sports coupé from 1964.
Milošević and her colleagues further developed Enamel Blue, adapting it to the current era. During this process, the tone became “a little more colorful, more intense and darker, but not too loud”, she said. She interpreted Carnicero’s taste perfectly, leading him to name the color after her; ‘Dani Blue.’
Even the Gurney flap on the rear and the PORSCHE script are painted in this exclusive color on Carnicero’s 911 S/T. Dani Blue’s exceptional brilliance, particularly in daylight, is a result of its sophisticated coating cycle. Of the four coats of clear lacquer in total, the first was additionally sanded. This also enabled the 911 S/T logos painted in contrasting Brilliant Silver to be embedded flush with the surface.
The customer as a member of the Sonderwunsch family
“Giving the paint my nickname is an overwhelming sign of gratitude for me and my work,” says Daniela Milošević. It’s also the highlight of the customer’s very appreciative attitude towards the Porsche employees, who found working with him very inspiring and motivating.
Carnicero happily returns the compliment: “Porsche doesn’t just create unique cars in the Sonderwunsch program. What’s special for me is the journey itself, the extraordinary team feeling, the people behind it all. Everyone is committed to making a personal dream come true, and for this I cannot thank Porsche enough.” With its Sonderwunsch program, Porsche offers its customers individualizations of the highest quality.
“Jorge Carnicero is a highly valued Porsche customer of many years’ standing and a member of the Sonderwunsch family. We’re so happy that he really appreciates the Manufaktur philosophy,” says Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualization and Classic. “For some reason, a Porsche in his dream color has never worked out until now. Probably the 911 S/T had to come along, the car that this new color suits so perfectly.”
Harmonious overall concept with attention to detail
The classic look that is a feature of all of Jorge Carnicero’s Porsche cars is created by the combination of Dani Blue with Brilliant Silver on the lightweight magnesium wheels, the borders of the side windows (Daylight Opening), and the 911 S/T logos painted in Brilliant Silver behind the front wheel arches. The high-quality overall impression is also underlined by the mirror attachment pieces and the frame of the engine cover around the air intake grille being painted in high-gloss Black.
There’s also a special Easter egg on the exterior: the motto ‘Simply the Best’ on the underside of the rear bumper. Befitting for the derivative, the letters S and T in this motto are typographically emphasized using the design of the model logo.
Comprehensive leather interior upholstery and seats with exclusive pepita pattern
The exterior color concept carries over to the interior. The most striking feature is the tricolor pepita pattern on the seat centers. The iconic check pattern, which first adorned the seats of the Porsche 356 at the start of the 1960s, is composed in this case of threads in Graphite Blue, Chalk and Blue.
The interior also decorated with cross-stitching in GT Silver along the dashboard trim and the upper door panel trim. Each cross stitch is done carefully by hand by the experts at the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur saddlery. The interior of this special 911 S/T is generously upholstered in leather in Graphite Blue, with the natural material also being used for the knee pad and the trim on the A-pillars. Even the air vents are bordered in Graphite Blue leather, which is also used for the door opening loops. The entire roof lining is in Race-Tex of the same color. An eye for high-quality details is also evident in the high-gloss Black belt passages of the carbon fiber full bucket seats. The headrests feature the 911 S/T logo in GT Silver.
Several members of the project team have signed the collector model on the passenger-side dashboard trim. Another Easter egg is to be found in the interior. The lateral ends of the dashboard, which can only be seen when the doors are open, bear an embossed ‘Dani’ signature from Daniela Milošević – a surprise and acknowledgement from the customer to the designer.
One further detail with a personal note: a logo designed especially for Carnicero’s one-off car is embossed on the cover of the center console and on the vehicle document folder. It combines the 911 S/T logo with the current World Champion titles from Porsche. Everything comes full circle here, as a Metallic Silver 911 S from 1971 that carried the iconic ‘Porsche Manufacturers’ World Champion 69, 70, 71’ sticker in the side window was Carnicero’s first Porsche. Thus, with the support of Sonderwunsch Manufaktur, he also had a memento of his first great Porsche love attached to this latest Sonderwunsch project.
As with the car, the luggage compartment has also been extensively customized. It is upholstered in Graphite Blue leather, and the exclusive pepita houndstooth pattern is also used here. The trunk mat and the bag for the roadside warning triangle are made of the tricolor textile that is a hallmark of Porsche.
A special blue car cover with the 911 S/T logo and the 60th anniversary logo in contrasting grey round off the car’s exclusive look. And finally, the vehicle key is painted in Dani Blue.
About the Porsche 911 S/T
The Sonderwunsch model is based on the 911 S/T with which Porsche celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 911. This special edition, limited to 1,963 units, offers a one-of-a-kind combination of agility and driving dynamics. It combines the naturally aspirated, 518 hp 4.0-liter flat-six engine from the 911 GT3 RS with a close-ratio manual transmission. This is complemented by resolutely lightweight construction down to the tiniest detail and a running-gear setup optimized for agility and drivability. The name identifies the new 911 S/T as the descendant of a particularly performance-focused version of the first 911 generation. Starting in 1969, Porsche offered a special racing version of the 911 S. Internally, these vehicles were called 911 ST.
About the Porsche Sonderwunsch program
In the spirit of truly luxury, the Porsche Sonderwunsch program provides bespoke customization services for unique sports cars with a combination of skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. The sports car manufacturer thus reinterprets its legendary Sonderwunsch program from the late 1970s to enable individualized, one-off cars – co-created by the customer and professionally produced by Porsche.
The range of services encompasses individual customer color and material requests directly in production, as well as subsequent modification after the car is delivered to the customer. Practically speaking, everything complying with local regulatory requirements is possible, from new colors and equipment for existing cars to the creation of individual one-off cars at the customer’s request.

Understood by many to be THE quintessential Audi color, Nogaro Blue Pearl Effect (nogaroblau; pearl effect UNI; Z5M; Audi) won over the hearts and minds of many more than 20 years ago. So much so, that it’s not terribly uncommon to see an Audi exclusive build in this color even if you’re not specifically looking for one.
Contrasted by the subdued black leather with diamond pattern deviated stitching and carbon fiber trim, this Audi exclusive S5 is a tasteful build all around.
This Audi exclusive Nogaro Blue S5 is currently for sale at Napelton’s Volkswagen of Orlando for $35,900. See more details about this Tailored Driver, here.
Audi has long been quite good at creating an attractive blue, and Ara blue is no exception. Falling sometime between when Sprint blue fell out of series favor, and the darker Ultra blue which currently has Audi’s spotlight shone upon it, Ara blue was a late teens darling that gained notoriety on the Audi S3, TTRS, and RS3 of the day. As such, it also raised the eyebrows of more than a few Tailored Drivers ordering then-new Audi models for their own pleasure.
This 2018 Audi S4 in Prestige trim is squarely within the “enthusiast spec” category, featuring the aforementioned Audi exclusive Ara blue paint, Black Optics package, and Rotor Gray partial leather seats with Alcantara inserts and door cards. While admittedly a bit of a sweaty proposition in the warmer climates, we’d say it’s a tasteful package for Minnesota where the car currently is offered for sale.
At time of writing, this Audi exclusive Ara Blue S4 is offered by its owner for $38,200. More images and details can be found on AutoTrader.

“Speed with silence, the absence of vibration, the mysterious harnessing of great energy, and a beautiful living organism of superb grace.” – Claude Johnson, Managing Director, Rolls-Royce Limited – Original brief for a Rolls‑Royce figurine (1910)

Phantom Scintilla, which honours our enduring muse, the Spirit of Ecstasy, is the perfect expression of these principles.”Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars
For more than a century, the Spirit of Ecstasy has symbolised elegance and human achievement, inspiring countless works of art, from music to photography and moving image. In 2024, the year the marque celebrates its 120th anniversary, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars pays homage to its timeless muse in a unique Private Collection, named Phantom Scintilla. Based on Phantom Extended – the ultimate canvas for personalisation – this magnificent collection celebrates the ethereal beauty, grace and legacy of the Spirit of Ecstasy.
Limited to just ten examples worldwide, Rolls-Royce Phantom Scintilla’s design evokes the wonder of the Spirit of Ecstasy’s fleeting presence: its exquisite interior features were inspired by the apparent movement of her robes, as the motor car glides by.
Graceful Bespoke embroidery flowing throughout the interior captures the Spirit of Ecstasy’s elegant dynamism, culminating in a complex Gallery artwork. Carefully curated design features allude to the figurine’s origins with their references to Parian Marble: it was in this famed material that, more than 2,000 years ago, an unknown genius of Classical Greece sculpted The Winged Victory of Samothrace, the statue that inspired Claude Johnson’s original idea for a Rolls‑Royce mascot.
Phantom Scintilla derives its name from the Latin word for ‘spark’ – a bright flash, witnessed only for an instant. This refers to Claude Johnson’s first flash of inspiration for a mascot, the aforementioned Greek statue, and captures the Spirit of Ecstasy’s ethereal grace – something glimpsed only for a moment as the motor car passes by, but which leaves a lasting impression.
A NEW CHAPTER TO AN OLD STORY In 1910, Rolls-Royce Managing Director Claude Johnson commissioned sculptor and illustrator Charles Sykes to create a Rolls-Royce mascot. Johnson already had an inspiration in mind: on a trip to Paris, he had visited the Louvre and been greatly impressed by the Greek marble statue of a deity descending from the heavens – The Winged Victory of Samothrace, which dates from 190 BCE.
Sykes, however, felt the statue was too domineering to be a suitable subject. Having often travelled in Silver Ghosts, he believed a more delicate, ethereal figure would better express the marque’s grace, silence and subtle power. It is now generally accepted that he took his inspiration for what would become the Spirit of Ecstasy from Eleanor Thornton, Lord Montagu’s secretary and paramour. In creating Phantom Scintilla, the Bespoke Collective has reclaimed some of Johnson’s original inspiration, by introducing new materials and subtle references to the captivating vision of The Winged Victory of Samothrace.
MATERIAL MAGIC The famed statue is sculpted in Parian marble, a fine-grained white marble quarried during the classical era on the Greek island of Paros. Known for its purity and radiance, this material allows light to penetrate to a depth of several centimetres, giving it a lustre that appears to come from within.
For Phantom Scintilla, the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine has been given a ceramic finish that skilfully alludes to the texture of Parian marble, while retaining its familiar femininity and ethereality – a Rolls-Royce icon that finally unites the visions of both Johnson and Sykes.
“We were fascinated with the qualities of Parian marble, and this material became the subject of our research for many months. To create a clear and elegant connection to the famed statue, we developed a ceramic finish that captures the translucence and purity of this unique stone, and perfectly embraces the ethereal nature of our icon”. Celina Mettang, Bespoke Colour and Material Designer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
EXTERIOR: GREEK INSPIRATION Phantom Scintilla’s exterior is presented in a two-tone Bespoke finish. The upper body is in Andalusian White, with the lower body in Thracian Blue, inspired by the colours of the sea around the island of Samothrace, whence the statue of The Winged Victory of Samothrace originates. A subtle metallic flake mimics the sparkle of sunlight on the water. The hand-painted double Coachline and Wheel Pinstripes in Spirit Blue complete the graceful exterior.
INTERIOR: EXPRESSIVE MOVEMENT The interior is filled with design elements, textures and a continuous graphic inspired by the Spirit of Ecstasy’s expressive, dynamic form – the result of an intense collaboration between Bespoke designers and artisans. The graphic moves through the cabin, embracing the occupants in an uninterrupted flow of energy.
“We wanted to create a single graphic that almost appears as a watercolour artwork – we call it ‘painting with thread’. To create a luminescent effect, we used four different colours, thread thicknesses and stitch orientations. In doing so, we covered areas never explored in a Rolls-Royce before, achieving the most extensive density of embroidery ever seen in a Rolls-Royce motor car.” Katrin Lehmann, Bespoke Colour and Material Designer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
The lead artisan tasked with bringing this idea to life, Brienny Dudley, experimented with a variety of stitches and hues before selecting the tatami stitch, which was applied over six layers, interlacing in varying degrees of density and complexity. The full interior composition comprises 869,500 stitches and takes over 40 hours to complete.
“Translating this design into a three-dimensional form was a wonderful creative challenge, requiring more than two and a half years of close collaboration with our Bespoke design team to achieve the right level of detail, texture and tactility in the embroidery. Having two canvases – leather and fabric – added another level of complexity, as these materials respond to stitching in different ways. 36 individually embroidered panels had to be carefully curated so that they aligned perfectly, creating a seamless, flowing motif through the interior suite.” Brienny Dudley, Bespoke Craft Specialist, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
The embroidered motif on the doors – the most complex door design ever seen on a Rolls-Royce – is made of 633,000 stitches combining Blue Grey, Arctic White, Spirit Blue, Powder Blue and Pastel Yellow thread, complemented by illuminated perforations. By night, the embroidery takes on a mesmerising, luminescent sparkle and appears to glow from within. The seats are upholstered in a twill fabric with a subtle reflective sheen, providing an additional complexity to the material interplay within the interior. 236,500 stitches applied in Blue Grey, Arctic White and Spirit Blue thread continue the complex graphic spanning across the four doors.
‘CELESTIAL PULSE’ GALLERY ARTWORK The centrepiece of Phantom Scintilla is a Bespoke artwork in the Gallery which runs the full width of the front fascia. Entitled Celestial Pulse, the work consists of seven ribbons, each individually milled from solid aluminium, before being adorned with the same finely-grained ceramic finish as the Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. The edges are polished to a mirror shine so that they catch the light, creating a sense of movement and fluidity.
Claude Johnson’s original brief for a Rolls-Royce mascot is displayed on an embossed plate concealed in the glove compartment. These words, written in 1910, wonderfully capture the essence of the Phantom Scintilla Private Collection: ‘Speed with silence, the absence of vibration, the mysterious harnessing of great energy, and a beautiful living organism of superb grace’.
‘FLEETING MOMENT’ STARLIGHT HEADLINER Phantom Scintilla’s Bespoke Starlight Headliner features an animation inspired by the Spirit of Ecstasy’s flowing gown. 1,500 fibre-optic ‘stars’, all placed and fitted by hand in a unique pattern, illuminate in sequence, adding to the sense of motion. The design is completed with a further 4,450 perforations deliberately made larger than usual to reveal glimpses of a metallic silver fabric beneath, creating a subtle interplay of light.
GRACEFUL DETAILS The sense of movement continues on the rear picnic tables, with a delicate graphic capturing the Spirit of Ecstasy’s fluidity of motion. The motif is applied with the masking technique on top of the glossy iridescent surface, then hand-sanded and coated with a matte finish, creating the illusion of two subtle, shifting colours. The full wood set is rendered in Arctic White and finished with a lacquer mixed with iridescent metallic particles. To achieve the effect, craftspeople apply up to 19 coats of lacquer – a process that takes more than 190 hours per motor car.
The Private Collection name is engraved on the polished stainless-steel treadplates. As a finishing touch, each commission is supplied with a Bespoke car cover.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Scintilla Private Collection is available exclusively through the marque’s international Private Office network.

A long press opens the Configurable Dynamics(5) menu, where the driver can tailor the dynamic characteristics of Range Rover Sport SV to suit their preferences.
The enlarged gear‑shift paddles incorporate innovative LED Edge‑Lighting Technology. The +/‑ symbols are illuminated white when the vehicle is switched on. When SV Mode is activated, the illumination changes to red.
There’s something about a primary-ish blue Audi Avant that just seems right. You can thank the original Audi RS2 for starting that theme… or at least sending it into icon status, but every medium blue Avant since definitely hits this note in some capacity. And while the car you see here isn’t a rare 1 of 25 Audi RS 6 RS Tribute Edition, it is a C8 long roof in a color you’d be forgiven for mistaking as Nogaro Blue.
It’s not Nogaro Blue though, and how we know this deserves calling out. Yes, this blue is unlike any of the conservative and forgettable factory A6 allroad colors, so we already knew it’s an Audi exclusive build. Such cars are easy enough to find on classified sites, but knowing whether it’s any number of medium blues depending on lighting for the photography can be a real challenge. Even Audi dealers, more often than not, don’t include the name of the Audi exclusive color in an online listing. So, when a Ford dealership in Tennessee lists it, we don’t exactly have high hopes. Or, more accurately, when Ford of Franklin confirms the color in the listing, Firmament Blue to be exact, it’s worth calling out and offering a golf clap.
The car in question (VIN# WAU92BF23MN037703) is also a nice spec beyond just the color. It’s a 2021 Prestige package car (Audi’s Best on the Good, Better, Best scale), and includes full body paint over the fender flares for a sportier appearance. This fresh trade has also covered 26,909 miles. Listed at $55,382 it’s roughly half the price of the equivalent RS 6, getting you a fair degree of the big body Audi long roof experience at a fraction of the RS 6 price.
Commissions Starting at $375,000–The RSR Project Channels Ethos of Lightweight Design with Newly Presented 1986 Custom Build
[source: The RSR Project]
BEDFORD HILLS, NY – The RSR Project is intensely focused on honoring the illustrious seventies racing style of Porsche in all of the company’s custom builds inspired by the very same era. Newly presented, The RSR Project proudly unveils another delightfully analogue one-of-a-kind restoration and modification of a 1986 Porsche channeled into an absolutely stunning Gulf Blue (gulfblau; non-metallic / non-metallic UNI; 328; Porsche) 911 custom paying homage to the iconic 1973 RennSport Rennwagen (RSR). Starting at $375,000, the new 235-hp 1986 Gulf Blue 911 from RSR Project is made for daily driving and unlike many restorations, meant to be used by clients for enjoying the open road.
Starting life as a 1986 911, the latest highlighted RSR Project build features a 3.4L engine upgraded from the original vehicle’s 3.2L, significantly increasing overall power output to 235-hp. The additional horsepower and performance is specially designed by RSR Project to mirror the uniquely raw, crisp experience found behind the wheel of an original RSR classic. RSR Project also concisely integrates a host of other body modifications to further reduce vehicle weight.
While original RSR 911 iterations regularly sell at auctions for millions of dollars, RSR Project presents clients with a reimagined car that is meant to be driven in the same captivating style and sublime on-road driving experience as the classic. First conceived in 1973 as the absolute apex of the Stuttgart factory’s incredible engineering prowess, the lightweight RSR cars historically built a reputation as being the cars to beat in global racing challenges on track and off, including the 24-Hours of Le Mans. Literally translated from German “RennSport Rennwagen” to English “Racing Sport Racing car,” RSR cars became the alpha version of Porsche’s venerated 911 series.
“I actually started RSR Project to build a custom for myself. As soon as enthusiasts and collectors took a look at my finished car out on the road, many wanted one for themselves. My background is in operations and manufacturing, so my professional skill set has served RSR Project well as more and more clients commission cars with us,” comments Richard Schickman, Founder of The RSR Project. “Original RSR cars are almost impossible to find these days, and if a collector does manage to procure one, they seldom drive it. Inversely, RSR Project builds cars that are made to be driven. While many companies strive to make classic cars into something decidedly modern, RSR Project recaptures the original essence of the RSR in a period correct way that better suits drivers today. RSR Project cars are not for everyone, but driving purists that know the original car can come to us.”
RSR Project starts every commission by sourcing a donor body from a vehicle dated between 1984 – 1989. Porsches from this era were built with galvanized bodies preventing many from rusting even decades later. The approach allows RSR Project to streamline the conversion process, as there are less differences in body and interior styling from that era than with newer nineties renditions of the 911. Following a complete disassembly of the donor vehicle, RSR Project deletes all superfluous vehicle features including the original factory electric windows and electric seats to reduce overall vehicle weight to the absolute minimum.
Clients have the option of a subtly integrated A/C unit, but the Gulf Blue client opted to go without this upgrade to keep the car even more nimble. RSR Project further reduced weight by removing the car’s front and rear impact bumpers and front and rear metal deck lids. Clients can also reduce further weight by having RSR Project integrate a special aluminum hood. RSR Project also introduces a special ducktail spoiler to reimagine the beautiful silhouette of the original vehicle.
The RSR Project takes a minimalist approach to the cabin, lining the contours of the saloon in ultra-lightweight Perlon carpet and vinyl appearing throughout the headliner, dashboard, and door panels. While many restoration specialists introduce opulent interior customizations, RSR Project instead focuses on recapturing the spartan, race-ready essence of the original. The new 1986 RSR Project custom includes the classic RS door panels alongside original styled seats, which are swathed in super-premium leather and Scottish Tartan. A vintage dashboard is integrated along with fully updated new gauges, and a WEVO racing-style shifter. RSR Project also offers a roll-cage option for safety. RSR Project engine modifications include the installation of race spec cams, which introduce aggressive lift and duration profiles to optimize airflow and power at high RPMs. Additionally, RSR Project fine-tunes the ECU with a Steve Wong Chip (SW Chip), resulting in improved throttle response, increased horsepower, and enhanced overall engine performance. To further boost the engine’s capabilities, RSR Project has increased the engine displacement from 3.2 liters to 3.4 liters. This increases displacement, combined with the high-performance camshafts and custom ECU tuning, delivers a smoother, more powerful driving experience that exhilarates.
RSR Project engines are comprehensively rebuilt and detailed to factory-new condition with clients having the option between 3.2L, 3.4L or 3.5L engine formats. Additional engine appointments can include stock, PMO or custom fuel injection. All gaskets and rubber on board each engine is fully replaced, making each customized build absolutely brand new inside and out. Clients have the option to choose between the original single-piston factory brakes or upgraded four-piston brakes with sharper stopping power. The new RSR Project 1986 Gulf Blue build features upgraded four-piston brakes engineered for improved on-road driving dynamics. The vehicle’s suspension is also completely rebuilt with new Bilstein shocks and bushings with Braid wheels (11×15 in rear and 9×15 in front) wearing sticky Michelin TB-15 tires.
Prior to each vehicle delivery, every RSR Project car is thoroughly road tested and shaken-down to rigorous standards to ensure the highest expectations of quality and performance. Commissions for a bespoke RSR Project car now start at $375,000 with vehicle delivery typically taking 12 – 18 months. To learn more about The RSR Project, please visit www.thersrproject.com.
