    (Munich, 24. October 2023)

Bentley Motors Europe has announced that the order of derivatives of the Continental GT and GTC with the V8 engine will be completed by mid-November. This is in line with the Beyond100 strategy, which provides that by 2025, a hybrid option will be available for each model series. The V8 engine is still available in other markets. To mark this milestone, the designers of Mulliner have created impressive design themes that underline the positioning of the S and Azure derivatives that can be configured as additional equipment for the latest Continental GT V8s.

The five interior packages “Curated by Mulliner” reflect the strong customer demand for a custom design of the Continental GT and represent a unique opportunity to give Bentley’s ultimate Grand Tourer a personal touch. Inspired by vivid color accents found in nature, these special packages are available to Bentley customers in Europe – the Continental GT region.

The styling packages were put together by Bentley’s finishing department Mulliner, based in Crewe, England. They are available for all model variants of the Continental GT V8 and Continental GTC V8 – including the comfort-oriented Azure and performance-oriented S. Customers can supplement the selected styling package for the interior with a colour-matched styling package for the exterior.

The “Curated by Mulliner” styling packages take into account the ongoing demand from Bentley customers for a custom design of their vehicles – a trend that has become increasingly popular since the introduction of the first Continental GT 20 years ago. Each styling package should inspire the customer to create his very own dream version of the Continental GT. The dynamic colours Key Lime, Vivid Red, Mandarin, Klein Blue and Turquoise are offered. Each styling package can be complemented with additional options to complement Bentley’s ultimate
    Grand Tourer even further.

Each of the five packages is based on a motif from nature. Key Lime was inspired by lively citrus pigments that invigorate the interior of the vehicle. Designed for the performance-oriented models GT S and GTC S, Vivid Red is based on the tin-red pigments obtained in the Aeolian landscapes. Mandarin, on the other hand, testifies to the rich shades that can be found in spectacular areas such as the Icelandic Magmac craters or the Namib desert. Klein Blue fits perfectly with the well-being-oriented Azure models and goes back to nuances abstracted from elements of hypernature. Finally, Turquoise refers to the cyan-blue depths of the Icelandic seas and the radiance of the Aurora Borealis at night.

Distinctive color accents from the styling packages tastefully emphasize key elements in the interior of each of the “Curated by Mulliner” vehicles. These elements include the contrasting steering wheel spokes or the gear lever, rounded off by colour-matched contrasting lines on the handcrafted veneer. The seats, held in Mulliner color combinations, are harmoniously complemented by Mulliner floor mats with contrasting micro-keeds in the chosen accent color. Passengers are welcomed by a welcome light “Curated by Mulliner” in the Continental GT when boarding and disembarking. The optional styling package for the exterior, which is only available in conjunction with the styling package for the interior, continues the chosen color theme with accent lines on exterior mirrors and body kit.

The “Curated by Mulliner” styling packages further refine the interior. A diamond kerling gives the metal elements of the dashboard a jewel-like look, while the “Mood Lighting Specification” allows the color and intensity of the lighting in the interior to be controlled.

The Bentley Rotating Display offers three different instrument variants to choose from. In addition, the styling packages also include chrome-plated kee on the instrument panel and an LED welcome light as well as – for the S version of the Continental GT and the Continental GTC – also a “Leather Specification”. The styling package for the exterior is emphasized by the “Styling Specification” as well as by self-aligning wheel emblems.

    • GT Le Mans Collection handcrafted in England by Mulliner – Bentley’s personal commissioning division

Münich, Germany – The first of 24 Bentley Continental GT Le Mans Collection models for Europe is hitting the continent’s roads for the first time in Dusseldorf, Germany. The full collection of 48 limited edition Continental GT and GTC cars are being handcrafted in England by Mulliner, Bentley’s personal commissioning division, with just 24 coupes destined for European customers.

All GT Le Mans Collection owners will receive a unique car cover as well as a special wooden presentation box, crafted in Piano Black and Verdant – the same as the car itself. Inside, the box contains the car key, as well as an exclusive Speed 8 sculpture and booklet, detailing how the sculpture was made. A plaque inside the lid is signed by Adrian Hallmark, Chairman and CEO, Bentley Motors, and Ansar Ali, Mulliner and Motorsport Director, Bentley Motors.

The box is complemented by a Speed 8 book, written by automotive expert Andrew Cotton. Published by Sportfahrer, the fascinating hardback reveals the full history of the Speed 8 race car project, from the first concept to Bentley’s Le Mans success. With a whole chapter dedicated to Shaun Lynn’s Speed 8 car restoration, the book features a green cover with a silver 2003 wreath, identifying it as unique to the Le Mans Collection.

The GT Le Mans Collection marks the 20th anniversary of Bentley’s sixth victory at the world’s most iconic road race, with the Bentley #7 Speed 8 taking the chequered flag in 2003. This year is also the centenary of the first 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1923, when Bentley recorded the fastest lap.

Like the coupe in Dusseldorf, each GT Le Mans Collection car is delivered with unique features. The Bentley Rotating Display on the dashboard houses a valve from the engine of the 2003 Le Mans winning #7 Speed 8, while evocative exterior styling includes Verdant green paintwork and a Moonbeam racing stripe. A No. 7 emblem on the grille also celebrates the 2003 victory.

Other bespoke details range from the six-wreath emblem inlaid into the high-gloss carbon fibre fascia, marking each of the six outright victories recorded by Bentley at Le Mans from 1924 to 2003, to the Bentley matrix grille, originally designed to protect the radiator on the unpaved Le Mans racetrack of the 1920s. Inside, a luxurious Le Mans Collection cockpit is trimmed with Beluga hide, while the standard 12-hour analogue clock is replaced with a bespoke, 24-hour dial design.

Race-inspired performance comes from Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine, delivering 659 PS (650 bhp) and an extraordinary 900 Nm (664 lb.ft) of torque. This results in a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) and 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds).

Balazs Rooz, Regional Director of Bentley Europe, added:

“Following the recent static European debut of the GT Le Mans Collection at the Le Mans Classic event, I am delighted to see this limited edition now being delivered to our happy  few customers. The brand has played a key role in Europe’s motoring history and in the W12 run out phase, it is a nice farewell and homage to the Speed 8 #7 win in 2003, the same year when the W12 was launched to the world.”

Crewe, England – To mark 20 years since Bentley’s sixth victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and 100 years since the first running of the legendary race, Bentley is creating a limited edition of Continental GT Coupés and Continental GTC’s. Each will be powered by the Bentley W12 engine, the most successful 12-cylinder engine of the modern era. The Le Mans Collection includes unique exterior and interior details that echo the design of the Le Mans winning Speed 8 #7.

All Le Mans Collection models are specified with the three-way Bentley Rotating Display, offering a choice of touchscreen, dual veneer or analogue dials – but with a twist; In place of the standard central dial is a Vitrine displaying an engine valve from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 of the 2003 Le Mans winning Bentley Speed 8. The engine was removed after the contest and preserved, and now 24 of the 32 valves from the engine have been bisected to create 48 artefacts for this exclusive collection of ultimate Grand Tourers.

In another thoughtful touch, the standard 12-hour analogue clock is replaced by a digital clock with a bespoke dial design – a 24 hour one, naturally.

Mulliner, Bentley’s personal commissioning division, has taken inspiration from the dark green Speed 8 racing cars that swept all before them at Le Mans in 2003. From the Verdant green (verdantgreen; metallic UNI; 6606 / 9560016; Bentley) exterior to the sliver of Speed 8 engine displayed in the fascia, the Le Mans Collection is a heartfelt tribute to a long and glorious shared history between Bentley and the Le Mans 24 Hours.

    Tribute to Speed 8 #7

Mulliner’s designers closely studied the winning Speed 8 of 2003, surely one of the most beautiful racing cars ever to triumph at Le Mans. The limited number of Continental GT’s and Continental GTC’s in the Le Mans Collection are finished in Verdant green, with a Moonbeam racing stripe across the bonnet (and Coupé roof). The Blackline specification nods to the black and green livery of the Speed 8, while the carbon-fibre Styling specification body components are finished in black with a subtle pinstripe in Moonbeam. Beluga black is also chosen for the lower front bumper, wing mirror caps and rear ‘horseshoe’ area beneath the bootlid spoiler, while black 22-inch ten-spoke wheels shroud powerful carbon ceramic brakes and red brake calipers.

Meanwhile, the distinctive Bentley matrix grille (originally developed to protect the radiator on the unpaved Le Mans racetrack of the 1920s) features a painted #7 in Arctica white, combining the race-winning number of 2003 with the painted radiators of the Bentleys that won Le Mans five times between 1924 and 1930.

    Bespoke details

The interiors of the Le Mans Collection Continental GT and Continental GTC are far more luxurious than those of the Bentley Speed 8s – but there’s the same sense of sporting purpose. A bespoke 2003 wreath welcome lamp ushers you into a cockpit trimmed in Beluga hide. Performance-bred napped Dynamica fabric covers the seat faces, while the interior’s monochrome colour scheme is relieved by contrast seat stitching and seatbelts in Hotspur. The steering wheel, trimmed in hide and Dynamica, also features Hotspur contrast stitching and six o’clock accent tab.

The dual-finish veneer on fascia and door waist rails is executed in Piano Black and high gloss carbon fibre, with a fine chrome pinstripe separating the two. Matching doors to fascia so the pinstripe flows seamlessly from one side to the other is a mark of the exceptional craftsmanship in every Bentley.

The Le Mans Collection Bentleys feature many bespoke details, beginning with the Speed 8 sill plates and six-wreath treadplates that greet occupants on entering the interior. The fascia displays the six-wreath emblem inlaid into high-gloss carbon fibre, marking each of the six outright victories recorded by Bentley at Le Mans between 1924 and 2003.

    Race inspired performance

The Le Mans Collection Continental GT and GTC are equipped with Bentley’s renowned 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine, delivering 659 PS (650 bhp) and an extraordinary 900 Nm (664 lb.ft) of torque.

With exceptional handling, this results in a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) and 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds). A combination of four chassis technologies give the new limited edition a level of agility, performance and ride quality as expected of a car with this heritage.

Bentley Dynamic Ride and three-chamber active air suspension with adaptive damping play a key role in the balance of the car and provide a formidable foundation to build upon.  The optional and newly-developed Carbon Ceramic Brakes, Variable Electronic Stability Control, All Wheel Steering, and an Electronic Limited Slip Differential bolster the agility and performance even further.

    Bentley and Le Mans

Bentley’s long association with Le Mans didn’t get off to the smoothest of starts. “I think the whole thing’s crazy. Nobody’ll finish. Cars aren’t designed to take that sort of strain for 24 hours.” Such was W.O. Bentley’s reaction in 1923, on hearing that private entrant John Duff planned to contest the first-ever Le Mans 24 Hour race in a Bentley 3 Litre. But the competitive fire in W.O’s soul saw him make a last-minute dash to the La Sarthe circuit nonetheless. Inspired by Duff’s 4th place (despite a lengthy stop to repair a holed petrol tank) and fastest lap, W.O and Bentley Motors returned in 1924 with a works entry – and won. It was the start of a glorious decade that saw five wins in seven years.

Bentley was back in 2001 with the EXP Speed 8, the start of a three-year programme targeting a sixth outright victory. And on Sunday, June 15th, 2003, Bentley’s two works Speed 8s finished first and second in this most gruelling of endurance races. Car #7 of Guy Smith, Tom Kristensen and Rinaldo Capello covered 377 laps at an average speed of 214.33km/h, followed by the #8 Speed 8 of Johnny Herbert, Mark Blundell and David Brabham.

This will complement the breath-taking Mediterranean coastline and surroundings where this one-off Continental GT Convertible will likely be driven and enjoyed.”

Mulliner Riviera Collection highlights how anything is possible for Bentley’s most discerning customers. The world’s oldest coachbuilder is based at the home of Bentley, in Crewe, England, and now offers craftsmanship on three levels. Curated by Mulliner are cars and features available in the online Bentley Configurator. Mulliner Bespoke are cars and features only available through the retailer, such as the Mulliner Riviera Collection, while Mulliner Coachbuilt are truly unique, one-off cars hand-built by the Mulliner team such as the recently unveiled Mulliner Batur.

The roots of Mulliner date back to the 1500s, when the company created luxurious, horse-drawn carriages in England. In 1923, Mulliner craftsmen worked on a Bentley chassis for the first time, hand-building the bodywork for the 3 Litre model exhibited at the Olympia Show in London.

In 1952, Mulliner coachbuilt the body for one of the most iconic Bentley’s ever. The R-Type Continental was the inspiration for today’s Continental GT. It was followed five years later by the Continental Flying Spur, a special, four-door saloon built on the Bentley Continental chassis. By 1959, Mulliner had officially become a part of Bentley Motors, setting up its workshops in Crewe.

Crewe, England – Bentley Beverly Hills has used the dizzying portfolio of finishes, materials and features on offer via Bentley Mulliner to commission a limited edition of three Continental GTC Speed models in colours and finishes that recall the golden age of Hollywood.

1920’s residents such as Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Will Rogers and Rudolph Valentino gave Beverley Hills a cachet that it has never lost, and the colours of that Art Deco era have been brilliantly evoked in the Jetstream Blue, Sage Green and Hollywood Blush Pink finishes of the three Mulliner Bentleys.

The first of the three Beverley Hills special edition Continental GTC Speed models features Jetstream II blue finish for both the bodywork and the 22” ten-spoke wheels, with the subtlest of pinstripes to the wheel edge. Highlights of the interior include Linen main hide and contrast stitching with secondary hide in Imperial Blue. Sweeping from waist rail to waist rail across the dashboard is a high gloss Piano Linen over Imperial Blue dual veneer. All models feature the Styling, Touring and City specifications and as a subtle nod to Hollywood’s golden era the words ‘The Beverly Hills’ are rendered in a ‘30s typeface on the illuminated sill plate.

The second of the three Beverly Hills commissions mirrors the specification of the first, but with the pastel tone of Sage Green as the dominant exterior colour on bodywork and wheels. The interior’s dual colour split features Cumbrian Green and Linen, with the same two colours inventively used as a dual veneer on dash and waist rails.

The final Beverly Hills commission of the trio is finished in a subtle, pale ‘Hollywood Blush’ pink. A harmonious contrast is provided by the sumptuous interior, with Linen as the main hide and the deep red Cricketball hide as the secondary contrast. The same two colours are selected for the dual veneer on dashboard and waistrails.

Describing the inspiration for the three-car Beverly Hills Collection, Danika Quinn, Bentley Brand Manager comments:

“Beverly Hills has always been the epitome of glamour, particularly during Hollywood’s Golden Age. This collection is a nod to the bygone era of Old Hollywood encapsulating the spirit of that time; bold white wall tires, soft colour palettes and unique designs that illustrate the “class” of classic cars. The experts at Bentley Mulliner brought my vision to life and helped curate a masterpiece collection for Bentley Beverly Hills that not only exemplifies the allure and grandeur of yesteryear, but also one that highlights the refinement and grace of modern-day Bentley craftsmanship.”

With its W12 engine delivering 659 PS (650 bhp), a 0-60 mph sprint time of 3.6 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds) and a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) the Continental GT Speed Convertible sits alongside its coupe sibling at the performance pinnacle of the Continental GT family. The Beverly Hills Collection shows what can be achieved through the Mulliner personal commissioning process, where customer, retailer and Mulliner’s design team collaborate to create truly unique cars.

Bentley and Mulliner: a 99-year partnership

Mulliner’s association with Bentley goes back to the earliest days of the company. Now Bentley’s in-house personal commission division, Mulliner plays a key role in defining the company’s future design DNA, as demonstrated to stunning effect by the extraordinary new Batur coupé. From special features and finishes to unique and limited-edition coachbuilt vehicles, the Mulliner name continues to represent the ultimate in Bentley design and craftsmanship.

Customers are showing an increasing appreciation of the individuality that a Mulliner feature can bring to their chosen Bentley. Since 2020, the percentage of Bentleys with specific Mulliner features continues to grow. The demand for Mulliner special paint finishes has more than doubled; and the number of Mulliner personal commissions, bringing a truly individual vision to life in the Mulliner atelier, has tripled.

Regional teams are also taking advantage of the unique ability to curate bespoke collections, specific to their own customers interests and passions.

Originally founded in 1760 with a contract to provide coaches for the Royal Mail, the Northampton-based firm of F. Mulliner was still making horse-drawn carriages as the 20th century dawned. It took the vision of pioneer motorist Henry Jervis Mulliner to propel them into the automotive age. His coachbuilding business H.J. Mulliner established close ties with Bentley Motors, starting with the coachwork for a Bentley 3 Litre at the 1923 Olympia Motor Show. Thus began a family tree of Mulliner Bentleys whose highlights include the Speed Six Saloon in which Woolf Barnato beat the Blue Train, and the inspired synthesis of lightweight materials and aerodynamic design that was the 1952 R Type Continental.

As well as offering curated Bentley models such as the Continental GT Mulliner, Flying Spur Mulliner and Bentayga Mulliner, the division is the home of Bentley’s most exclusive vehicles, both recreating the distant past of the company and exploring its future design direction.

The craftsmen and women of Mulliner Classic painstakingly recreate legendary Bentleys from the past, including the recent series of twelve 4½ Litre Supercharged ‘Blower’ Bentleys based upon the company’s own Birkin Team Car. Last year, Mulliner Classic embarked on its most ambitious and challenging project to date: the resurrection of a truly legendary coachbuilt Bentley, the 6½ litre Bentley Speed Six works racing specification.

In contrast to the work of Mulliner Classic, Mulliner Coachbuilt looks to the future, researching and developing new and sustainable luxury materials and bringing to life the vision of Bentley’s design team. Two such examples are the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar, a two-seat barchetta created as an edition of twelve, and the Bentley Mulliner Batur, a limited edition of 18 hand-built coupés unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2022. Already sold out, Batur affords a glimpse of the road ahead for the styling, features and materials that will define Bentley in the years to come.

Crewe, England – Bentley Mulliner has created a unique collection of new Bentleys to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the British marque’s presence in China. Each of the four special models has been inspired by a famous location in London, where W.O. Bentley founded Bentley Motors in 1919.

Mulliner’s considered design and meticulous handcraftsmanship have been applied to the Continental GT, Continental GTC, Flying Spur and Bentayga to create the four families of cars within the collection, with each one numbered as one of 20 to denote its exclusivity.

The four models – The Guard, The Carnaby, The Pall Mall and The Savile Row – introduce unique designs, embroidery and Mulliner features that characterise the cars and celebrate their iconic London muses. 20 cars in each family are due to be individually handcrafted by Mulliner, and all are destined for Chinese clients.

    The Guard

The first car in the collection is The Guard, inspired by the famous Royal Guards who protect the Royal Household. St James Red (saintjamesred; metallic UNI; 6331 / 9561031; Bentley) pearlescent paint with a Beluga roof mimic the red tunic and 18” black bearskin hats worn by the Guards. The bodywork is complemented by 21” ten-spoke wheels, painted black but with a bright machined finish, and a carbon fibre Styling Specification body kit (front splitter, side sill extensions, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler) also painted in Beluga but finished with a Moonbeam pinstripe. Subtle ‘The Guard’ exterior badges in black, denoting the car as one of 20, adorn the front wings.

Inside the cabin, a bespoke three-tone colour split in Linen, Beluga and Hotspur is completed by Beluga lambswool rugs. Veneers match the leather, being finished in Piano Hotspur over Piano Black, demonstrating Mulliner’s ability to paint wood veneer to match any interior hide or exterior paint hue. Contrast stitching and piping add the final accents of colour.

The gold tunic buttons of the Guards’ uniform are reflected by Gold Organ Stops to control the cabin heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, while the speakers of the Bang & Olufsen sound system are finished in black and gold to match. Headrest embroidery, an overlay to the passenger fascia and bespoke treadplates all carry The Guard graphics.

    The Carnaby

The Convertible model in the collection is The Carnaby, based on Carnaby Street in London’s Soho district. Known for its energetic and lively atmosphere and bright colours, Carnaby Street has inspired an equally vibrant Bentley available in four different colours – Radium (radium; metallic UNI; 6640 / 9560236; Bentley), Jetstream II (jetstreamii; metallic UNI; 6572 / 9560249; Bentley), Orange Flame (orangeflame; metallic UNI; 6201 / 9560002; Bentley) and Onyx (onyx; metallic UNI; 6935 / 95g0161; Bentley). 22” wheels are black-painted and then finished with a solid white (Arctica) accent, which is matched by an Arctica pinstripe to the Styling Specification body kit. The Carnaby badging is fitted to the front wings.

Inside, bespoke Radium hide accents and matching contrast stitching in both Radium and Silver bring a splash of vibrancy through Beluga leather, along with a colourful diamond motif set into the passenger fascia, that represents the four colours in the family.

The centre console features new dark tint diamond brushed aluminium, while embroidery uses the same diamond motif as the fascia – with the exterior colour shown more boldly in the four-colour design.

    The Pall Mall

In 2002, the same year that the first Bentley was sold in China, Bentley delivered a new State Limousine to Her Majesty The Queen, in celebration of her Golden Jubilee. 20 years later, the car is still the official State Limousine of Her Majesty, and often seen on formal and state occasions.

The Pall Mall Flying Spur is a 2022 homage to the State Limousine, featuring bespoke duo-tone Beluga (beluga; non-metallic UNI; 6901 / 9561026; Bentley) over Claret (claret; mica metallic UNI; 6322 / 9560117; Bentley) paint with matching 22” ten-spoke wheels in a claret-painted and bright-machined finish. Exterior bright chromework and a “The Pall Mall” badge to the C-pillar complete the regal exterior.

In the four-seat cabin, a bespoke and unique front-to-rear colour split separates the rear seats from the front, flowing from Imperial Blue in the front to the bespoke hide colour of Baroda Blue (colour-matched to the hide in the State Limousine) for the rear seats. A full length centre console separates the two rear seats. The veneer uses one wood species with two different finishes – Open Pore Burr Walnut over High Gloss Burr Walnut, for a beautiful combination of pattern and texture. The rear doors are finished with Burr Walnut, while the backs of the front seats house picnic tables finished in Piano Baroda Blue.

The finishing touches to the cabin include bespoke micro-piping in Pale Gold, contrasting with seat piping in Imperial Blue. A bespoke crown motif is embroidered to the seats, and the rear seats include loose leather-trimmed cushions. The crown motif is also repeated as a veneer overlay in Gold to the centre rear console, the passenger fascia and the rear door panels.

    The Savile Row

The final car in the collection is The Savile Row – a Bentayga that uses the world-renowned home of tailoring as its inspiration. Traditional tailoring materials are given a modern twist, with a design that pays respect to the craftspeople of Savile Row.

Clean Cumbrian Green (cumbriangreen; metallic UNI; 6615 / 9560152; Bentley) bodywork is twinned with 22” ten-spoke wheels, Cumbrian Green-painted and with a bright machined finish. Inside, the four seat cabin with rear centre console uses a beautiful bespoke colour split in Cumbrian Green and Portland hides, with carefully selected areas of contrast stitching. Mulliner’s ‘Serenity’ seat quilting to the seats, doors and backboard is complemented by bespoke and exclusive High Gloss Burr Elm veneer on the fascias, centre consoles and door waistrails – the first time this veneer has been used in a modern Bentley.
