This very unique Ferrari Testarossa is 1 of 1, converted to Targa specification by Ernst Berg Systems (EBS) in 1985. It’s also the only left man drive Testarossa in yellow for a 1985 European spec with the “flying mirror”.

There aren’t a lot of details in the private party listing linked above, though we found the car also offered for sale in last May’s Bonhams Miami Auction with a detailed listing. That can be found HERE.

This rare colored Dino 308 GT4 was owned by the same family for over three decades until it was sold to the current owner in 2020. The car has been repainted in its original color, Blu Azorro Metallizzato, the same color as used in the brochure (see photo).

A notable detail about the 308 GT4. It is the only factory Ferrari design from Bertone, a Gandini original. Though these don’t carry the premium of earlier Pininfarina Dinos, the 308 GT4 represents one of the genuine bargains in the Ferrari collector world.

Ferrari built just 150 examples of the Dino 206 GT in 1968. The car you see here is the 38th in that run, and one of just three to be produced from the factory in Nocciola Metallizzato (Italian for Hazelnut Metallic).

The car was produced October 1, 1968, and delivered new to a dealership in Rome. It was imported into the U.S.A. in the 1970s, and was refurbished including a repaint to yellow in the 1980s. It next moved to Japan, then back to America where it was refurbished a second time between 205 and 2017 when it was returned to its original color combination including black vinyl with red leather seat inserts.

The 206 GT means it’s got the 2.0-liter quad cam V6, which is paired to a 6-speed transaxle.

The car’s listing on Bring a Trailer is quite thorough, detailing the car’s history in considerably more detail. It also includes two different sets of photos – even more of the studio shots you see here, and also shots outside under sunlight.

    • Ultra-low mileage, one owner 1977 Ferrari 512 BB ‘Wide Body’ set for auction
    • The unique commission benefits from a host of bespoke cosmetic and mechanical enhancements
    • Estimated at £150,000-£170,000, it will go under the hammer with H&H Classics on Wednesday 9th April

    [source: H&H Classcs Ltd]

A one-owner, exclusive commission 1977 Ferrari 512 BB ‘Wide Body’ with just 6,000 miles from new is going under the hammer with H&H Classics at its first Cambridgeshire auction of 2025.

Estimated at £150,000-£170,000, it is thought to be unique among the 101 UK-supplied right hand drive examples and will be auctioned on Wednesday 9th April at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford.

The eye-catching model has been uprated with wider wheels, various engine modifications and reshaped bodywork by supplying dealer Maranello Concessionaires. It has been maintained by Vince Mezzullo, a Maranello employee who bonded with the owner over their shared Sicilian ancestry, both during and after his time at the renowned dealership.

Finished in Rosso Chiaro with black hide and carpets, it has also benefitted from reworked front and rear aluminium clamshells plus reprofiled B-to-C-post sections and enlarged NACA cooling ducts.

John Markey, motorcar specialist at H&H Classics, said: “This Ferrari ‘Wide Body’ was commissioned by a serial Ferrari owner and while other Ferrari’s came and went, and not to mention other high-performance machines, this Prancing Horse always remained in his collection as a firm favourite.”

Now being offered for sale by his wife, this example is reputedly inspired by the factory sanctioned 512 BB Competizione cars which were campaigned by Charles Pozzi and NART at the 1978 Le Mans 24-hours.

John added: “This ‘Wide Body’ enjoys a host of bespoke cosmetic and mechanical enhancements and has been in ownership of the Morello family from new. It is a unique BB and has ultra-low mileage, making it worthy of close inspection.”

All lots will be available to view in person at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford from midday on Tuesday 8th and from 9am on Wednesday 9th April, while the sale then commences at 1pm. Anyone looking to bid on one of the lots can do so in person, online, by telephone or by leaving a commission bid.

You may be noticing a common theme on our site these past few weeks, with seemingly endless references to RM Sotheby’s upcoming Miami Auction during Moda Miami. Simply put, when it comes to offerings with tailored specification, this auction is weighing in heavily. Take for example this 2021 Ferrari SF90 Stradale custom ordered in Rosso Dino.

Sharing nomenclature with Ferrari’s 2019 Formula One car, the SF90 Stradale commemorates the 90th anniversary of Scuderia Ferrari by offering a technical tour-de-force. At its heart is Ferrari’s F154 twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with a hybrid system which includes electric motors at the front and rear. Net power is 986 hp, allowing for a 0-60 mph capability of under three seconds – impressive.

This particular SF90 Stradale was first delivered to Gomez Hermanos Kennedy LLC, the Ferrari dealer in San Juan Puerto Rico. Its specification boasts $60,000 in options that include its custom-ordered two-tone paint of Rosso Dino on the main body and a black roof.

Inside, the black interior received special-order yellow accents in order to tie-in the yellow brake calipers. Other options include the suspension lift system, size large carbon fiber racing seats, Advanced Front Lighting System (AFS), black ceramic exhaust pipes, Scuderia Ferrari shields, titanium wheel stud blots, front and rear parking sensors, advanced front driving camera, electrochromic rearview mirror, and Homelink system.

The car has logged just 667 miles at the time of cataloguing for this auction.

    Why We Love It:

Built via Ferrari’s Atelier program, the SF90 Spider you see here boasts no less than $260,000 of additional options and customization over your average SF90 Spider. This includes striking Atomic Orange 2-layer paint paired with Arancio Mikonos interior. It’s also got the Assetto-Fiorano package and Assetto-Fiorano-Extended package, plus additional carbon fiber everywhere.

All told, the customization budget on this SF90 Spider is greater than the cost of buying a new Roma and the dealership theorizes that this could make it one of the most expensive SF90 Spiders ever ordered… from a production run that is already sold out.

One wonders how you order a car this special and then only log less than 300 miles on it, but that’s a conversation for another day. We’re going to go ahead and post the list of options as itemized by the dealership below. Check out more details, photos and information on the car via the link above.

    Why We Love It:

Popping up in RM Sotheby’s Private Party sales is this very desirable 1986 Ferrari Testarossa. Granted, it’s a factory order book specification car, so why is it desirable? We’d point to two reasons.

First, it’s a ‘Monospecchio, Monodado’ configuration. For the non-Italians amongst us, that translates to “single mirror, single nut”. From the beginning of production of the Testarossa in 1984, Ferrari fitted cars with a single mirror mounted half-way up the A-pillar, and center-lock single nut alloy wheels. When the car received its mid-lifecycle freshening in 1987, the mirror was replaced with two conventional mirrors at the base of the A-pillar, and the wheels now had exposed conventional lug nuts.

Next up, it’s Bianco over Bianco leather. Monochromatic colors are always a unique decision – red over red on the F40, green over green, blue over blue, and so on. Bianco over Bianco (white over white) was a standard yet rare option that helps make this car so very 1980s poster spec whether that’s because of the product placement presence of a near identical car in Miami Vice or because that television show likely helped inspire the phrase “cocaine white” for such configurations – cocaine being also associated with the gluttonousness of the 1980s that inspired the Testarossa itself.

This is a European specification example delivered new to Salem Ali Abdul Al-Sabah of Kuwait, a member of the Kuwaiti Royal Family, via the Ferrari dealer in Kuwait. It was imported into the USA in 2001.

We notice this car has what appears to be plus-sized replicas of the original wheels (possibly via Augment Wheel Company where we’ve seen these offered, but we’re not entirely sure and it’s not disclosed in the listing). What is disclosed is that the car is accompanied by its four original Monodado wheels, some original Testarossa marketing literature, a set of manuals, tool kit, jack, original key, Ferrari-branded car cover, and OEM Ferrari seat covers. It’s also got a period-correct Nakamichi head unit with an A/D/S amplifier.

  • Modern Coachbuilding: Niels van Roij Design Teases Ferrari Testarossa “Superamerica”

Modern Coachbuilding: Niels van Roij Design Teases Ferrari Testarossa “Superamerica”

Typically in our series of Remasters, we tend to focus on firms performing limited series production of similar cars built to a largely similar formula. This allows these companies to perfect the car for the most part, which is where clients come in to commission a specification tailored to their desires. With Niels van Roij Design, the idea of bespoke goes quite a bit further for a truly bespoke result.

In this case, that result is a 1987 Ferrari Testarossa whose owner wants more of an open-top motoring experience. Sure, that owner could seek out one of the rare Testarossa Spyders out there. While Ferrari and Pininfarina may have produced one or two here or there, Straman converted Spyders and the like do exist out there somewhere. However, this client wanted something a bit more unique, an idea that’s more Targa and perhaps more structurally rigid… perhaps. And, while they could go the route of a lift-out Targa style roof like the Ferrari 308/328 GTS, it appears the quirky hinged glass application of the 575 Superamerica has been identified as an even more luxurious design befitting the V12-powered Testarossa.

Okay, they likely won’t call it Superamerica. Ferrari, the same company that allegedly gave Pininfarina fits when James Glickenhaus commissioned a neo P4 body conversion for his Enzo, probably would have issues. Still… it’s a rad idea and we’re watching it with great interest.

Niels van Roij has a project page on their own website where they’ve been sharing photos of the Testarossa job so far, and that can be found HERE. They’ve also been sharing images on social media, and recently shared the sketches also seen in this story that depict this “Superamerica” style top design (again, that label is our assessment and not their use).

This particular job was reportedly commissioned by a British expat who currently resides in Andorra.

Niels van Roij Design has been performing coach built transformations for a long time. Remember that Tesla Model S station wagon that popped up a few years back? That was van Roij. So too was a Ferrari 575 Maranello-based shooting brake “bread van” inspired by a similarly configured Ferrari 250 GTO back in the day.

  • Market Find: 2005 Ferrari Superamerica in Azzurro California Headed to Amelia Island Sale

Market Find: 2005 Ferrari Superamerica in Azzurro California Headed to Amelia Island Sale

    What: 2005 Ferrari 575 Superamerica

Location: Broad Arrow Auction at The Amelia, Amelia Island, FL
    Auction Link: Link

    Why We Love It:

Based on the 575 Maranello, Ferrari created a truly unique open-air version from 2005-2006 called the Superamerica. Uniquely, the Ferrari factory deployed a backwards rotating roof made from a single piece of electro chromatic glass. Flipping about 180 degrees on the axis perched near the top of the B-pillar, it came to rest on the top of the rear deck lid when fully opened. That aforementioned B-pillar was actually a reinforced buttress on each side, while the rear window operated as deflector when the top was down.

Just 559 cars were built, with this one built for the North American market in 2005. Even for such a rare car, it is an even more rare specification of Azzurro California over Blu Scuro leather and optional contrast stitching in Grigio Chiaro. Other options include Scuderia Ferrari fender shields, electric seats, High Power Hi-Fi audio system with six-disc CD changer. It also got the GTC Handling Package that came with 19-inch five-spoke split-rim magnesium wheels from Speedline, stiffer springs front and rear, and integrated roll bar, sports exhaust and carbon ceramic brakes with red brake calipers.

Originally registered in Quebec, the car then moved to Oahu Hawaii, Florida and California before its most recent home in Ohio.

The car is one of many cars to be sold at the Broad Arrow sale planned at The Amelia. Interested parties should inquire with Broad Arrow or attend the sale during The Amelia weekend.
