I’ll level with you- Long Beach Blue is not the first color that comes to mind when I think BMW Individual, but maybe it should be. Lifted from the first generation M2 among others, Long Beach looks absolutely stunning on this M3 sedan. One of a claimed 3 in this color, this Tailored Driver features Competition pack wheels, a carbon roof, and Silverstone interior, as well as a 7 speed DCT. Having covered 72,000 miles without any claimed modifications (although we can see some aero has been added), this is a very interesting proposition for the right buyer who’s looking to enter the world of Tailored.

    What: 2024 BMW M3 Competition
Color: BMW Individual Wildberry Metallic (metallic UNI; T09; BMW)

    Auction listing: West State Motorsport

In our minds, BMW Individual’s Wildberry Metallic is just about as good as it gets. Not too serious, yet absolutely sinister, it’s a juxtaposition that works incredibly well on M cars across the Tailored spectrum. And while this is an incredibly attractive hue, we do wonder if pairing it with Fiona Red interior was the move. Generally speaking, we like to pick a lane- either the outside is loud, or the inside is loud. The M3 Competition doesn’t exactly follow that ethos, which to be fair is not everyone’s cup of tea. So it begs the question, is this $96,000 M3 a 10 out of 10 or will you wait for the next Wildberry?

Unlike Porsche, BMW doesn’t have a Sonderwunsch department. However, looking over this highly OEM-looking E46 M3 Touring build on Cars and Bids, we’re wondering if they aren’t missing an opportunity. Yes, of course BMW now builds an M3 Touring even though we can’t get it here, but we’re thinking more of reimagined cars like Sonderwunsch’s 993 Speedsters.

What if BMW Classic built M3 Touring out of plain jane 3er long roofs? They’d probably look a lot like this, and what’s not to love? Do we need to mention it’s also a manual?

As of this writing there are two days left on this auction. Go get it wagon fans.

Though not an uncommon color by any stretch, we can’t say we’ve ever seen Gulf Blue on a BMW before. Worth noting then, the car you see here isn’t some über rare BMW Individual build but rather an extensive respray.

We’re typically pretty strict about resprays. We definitely cover them, but prefer to focus on cars that appear to have gone to great lengths to make the new color appear factory and without going too far overboard with modifications. According to the BaT listing, the work on this car totaled $60,000 with Precision Sport Industries in Oviedo, FL.

On the outside, the car looks like a BMW Individual factory car. Inside, changes are more extensive including removal of the rear seat, a half cage, aftermarket steering wheel, stereo, Recaro seats and more. Whether or not that’s for you, or whether you try to find a clean Vader interior is really up to you, but we think it’s pretty wonderfully unique regardless.

Oh, we almost forgot to mention, the overhaul also includes an upgraded S54 engine. Added kit goes well beyond this though, so check out that listing for all the details.

Westchester, PA’s Sky Motorcars is one of those interesting independent used car dealerships focusing on premium luxury cars, made even more interesting by their ability to consistently show cars in their inventory that are so low mileage as to be virtually new. Such is the case for this 2025 BMW M3 Competition xDrive sedan. It’s got under 1,000 miles on it.

More importantly, it’s in a rare and sought-after BMW Individual color. British Racing Green on an M3 Sedan makes for a handsome and sporting daily. Being well-appointed as well certainly adds further to the case. Okay, it’s not a manual, but it is very compelling regardless.

  • Color Check: BMW Frozen Urban Green Solid

Color Check: BMW Frozen Urban Green Solid

As M GmbH is want to do on social media, the BMW performance division has shared another great color from its BMW Individual color pallet. Frozen Urban Green Solid (frozenurbangrün; non metallic UNI; P9Y; BMW) is BMW speak for matte Urban Green non-metallic, and man does it look good on an M3 Touring.

Okay, fair question one can’t answer. Does anything look bad on an M3 Touring? Probably not, but still this does look good. Military-like greens have been a popular choice these last few years from German carmakers, and Urban Green in matte solid is particularly military-looking.

Special editions are always a bit of a grey area in the Tailored Driver world because to be honest, they’re usually just a ploy to move a few units with very specific options. This Frozen Black Edition M3 is the exception to the rule- just 20 were made for the US and if you wanted one, you had to call a hotline at a specific time to get it. Seriously. But while the method of initial procurement is now antiquated to the point of silliness, the M3 still looks incredibly modern. A high revving V8 is paired with the quick shifting DCT, and iDrive is present, meaning a CarPlay retrofit is an easy and worthwhile endeavor. Perhaps the best bit is the price. At $34k, it’s well within the ballpark of what a run-of-the-mill M3 would fetch in today’s market.

  • EU Market Find: BMW Individual Glacier Green E36 M3 Cabriolet

EU Market Find: BMW Individual Glacier Green E36 M3 Cabriolet

    What: 1996 BMW M3 Cabriolet
Color:  BMW Individual Glacier Green Metallic (metallic UNI; 335; BMW)
    VIN: Unknown

    Price: € 119,950

Yes, you read that right. An E36 M3 Cabriolet is six figures, and not just six figure but six figures in Euros. Is it worth it? Well, like many cars of this nature, if you have to ask then you likely aren’t in the running for it. Even still, we think it might be and here’s why.

First, it’s a poster child for BMW Individual. On the outside is subtle yet different Glacier Green Metallic, an ever-so-slightly tinted silver. Inside, it’s got extended Hazelnut Nappa nappa leather that would have had to have been special ordered.

Beyond that, the car has many options for the period, including seat heating, dual climate control, electric exterior mirrors, automatically dimming interior mirror and multi-function display.

There’s one more thing. The car has just 18,500 km on the odometer (11,495 miles), and presents in the photos as if new.

Yes, as perhaps the most subtle of the M3 lineage, we know the E36 isn’t the most desirable M3. To our eye, that only makes it desirable in its understatement… in the way a 964 Carrera RS sort of looks like any other Carrera 2 of its time. This was the standard operating procedure in the 1990s, and this M3 Cabriolet pulls it all off beautifully.

Initially built by the obsessive minds at IND Distribution, this BMW Individual Atlantis Blue Metallic M3 has just about everything you can do to an E9X M3. The subject of more than a few blog posts (like this one), both the history and modifications to this Tailored Driver are well documented. Perhaps it should not be a shock then, that even with a minor on the CarFax the asking price can be described as having a significant bump due in part to notoriety. So while this is in no uncertain terms the most expensive dual-hump DCT E9X for sale, whoever writes this check will also find themselves in one of the most sorted examples ever built.

If you’re looking to have your Tailored Driver featured as a Market Find, a sure-fire way to do so is to paint it some variant of Green, and pair that with either Tan or Brown seats. British Racing is this Tailored Driver’s shade of green, and Tarfuto it’s Brown- never has a more safe bet been placed. And while the G80 M3 might not be everyone’s cup of tea, we think we can all agree this spec does the divisive design a ton of favors.
