What: 1997 BMW M3 coupe Color: BMW Individual Aegean Blue Metallic (ägäischblau; metallic; 336; BMW)VIN: WBSBG91000EW36422 Mileage: 59,000 kilometers Price at Time of this Writing: €59,000 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: CarJager, Aix-en-Provence, France Dealer listing:Link
Why we love it:
Say it with us- BMW Individual Aegean Blue Metallic over Cream Nappa Leather. In 1997 this particular Tailored Driver was the choice of an M3 connoisseur, choosing the classiest of color combinations at their dealer and achieving a jaw-dropping finished product. Understandably the former custodians of this car loved looking at it, but it seems they liked looking more than spending time behind the wheel as the car has covered just 59,000km in it’s 28 years of existence.
Introduced in 1992 on the E36 M3, Estoril Blue (estorilblau; metallic; 335; BMW) has become one of the more memorable rad-era colors to come from BMW M. BMW shares that the color was inspired by the blues of Portugal where the Estoril racing circuit calls home. Whether it’s the cool blue surf of the Atlantic Ocean off the Portuguese coast or the almost always-clear skies overhead, the reference to Estoril definitely sticks. That BMW Motorsport in both two and four-wheeled forms has plenty of history with the Portuguese track doesn’t hurt either.
What: 2021 BMW M3 Competition Color: BMW Individual Dravit Grey Metallic (dravitgrau; metallic; C36; BMW) VIN: WBS33AY09MFK97991 Mileage: 42,444 miles Price at Time of this Writing: $65,841 CarFax:Link Window Sticker: N/A Location: BMW South Albany, Glenmont, NY Dealer contact: Beckie Kiernan – sales@bmwofsouthalbany.edealerhub.com Dealer listing:Link
Why we love it:
BMW’s Dravit Grey Metallic is an incredibly cool shade of Grey, featuring metallic flake with hints of Gold that genuinely pop in the right lighting. Sadly the images of this Tailored Driver are not that lighting, but this doesn’t mean the color is any less stunning. Of note, in 2021 BMW Individual was not a full option code 490 Individual color, but it was noted as an Individual shade within BMW’s order guide and fetched a $1,950 premium over other ‘standard’ hues. All that in mind, this $65,000 Tailored Driver is every bit as special in our eyes as a full-boat 490 car, and would make a great addition to the discerning enthusiast’s garage.
What: 2025 BMW M3 Sedan Color: Laguna Seca Blue (lagunasecablau; non-metallic uni; 448; BMW) VIN: WBS13HJ09SFU04156 Mileage: delivery Price at Time of this Writing: $88,825 CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: see gallery below Location: Gainesville, FL Dealer listing:Link
Why we love it:
Laguna Seca Blue is a recent reintroduction added to the BMW Individual palette. The color first dropped on the E46 M3, also going on other M cars throughout the years. Its return has made it a popular color amongst BMW Individual clients, and this one appears to have popped up as available at BMW Gainesville.
Interestingly, the dealer doesn’t have photos of it on the site at the time of this writing. However, Alyssa Trainer in sales at the dealership has already nabbed these mobile phone shots and shared it on the BMW Individual Market & Discussion Group on Facebook. If you’re reaching out to the dealership to inquire on this car, check in with Alyssa and let her know you saw the car on Tailored Driver.
What: 2004 BMW M3 Color: BMW Individual Estoril Blue Metallic(estorilblau; metallic; 335; BMW) VIN: WBSBL93464PN58640 Mileage: 66,572 Price at Time of this Writing: $23,000 CarFax:Link Window Sticker: N/A Location: Doylestown, PA Auction listing:Link
Why we love it:
While not offered on the E46 generation M3, BMW Individual Estoril Blue was such a hit on other M cars of the day that more than a few Tailors opted to tick the box. It is much less common though, that those same Tailors continued down the path of Individual in selecting an off-menu interior as we see here. BMW Individual Estoril Blue and Black Nappa Leather on this M3’s manual-adjust (!) seats is an incredibly tasteful touch inside this Tailored Driver, as are the host of modifications mentioned in the PCar Market auction. The right blend of OEM+ (CSL trunk, OEM 6-speed conversion, Euro console tray), track-focused (JRZ 2-way adjustable coilovers, Brembo GT big brake kit, numerous polyurethane bushings), and recent maintenance work to make this BMW Individual Estoril Blue M3 the kind of proposition that early 2000s dreams are made of.
What: 2018 BMW M3 Competition Color: BMW Individual Nardo Grey (nardograu; non-metallic UNI; P6K; LY7C/T3; Audi) VIN: WBS8M9C52J5J78816 Mileage: 76,557 Price at Time of this Writing: $46,000 CarFax: Link Window Sticker: Pictured below Location: Louisville, KY Dealer listing:Link
Why we love it:
Nardo Grey had a moment in the early to mid 2010s, there’s simply no denying that. After appearing on several Audi RS models, the color quickly made it’s way to other brands with Tailoring programs like BMW (shown here) and Porsche, and shortly after spawned me-too colors like Porsche’s Chalk and BMW’s Brooklyn Grey. The staff of Tailored Driver loves a good cross-brand build, and this M3 is an incredibly well executed example. Aforementioned Nardo Grey (in BMW code P6K) is paired exquisitely with Amaro Brown extended leather, elevated by the appearance of BMW’s Competition pack seats with strategic cutouts. Sure you lose lumbar adjustment, but speed holes are just cool. We look forward to seeing additional images once this Tailored Driver is cleaned up, but at this price, it just might not last that long.
What: 2013 BMW M3 Competition Color:Individual Santorini Blue(santorinblauii; non-metallic uni; 327; BMW) VIN: WBSKG9C5XDJ594007 Mileage: 18,164 Price at Time of this Writing: Auction CarFax:Link Window Sticker: Pictured below Location: Leander, TX Auction Listing:Link
Why we love it:
On the Tailored Driver spectrum, there are simply so many variants of Blue that the best way to describe on is quite possibly to reference others. Case in point, BMW Individual Santorini Blue featured in this instance on an E92 M3, exists somewhere between BMW’s Laguna Seca Blue and Porsche’s Voodoo Blue. A bright, bold, non-metallic Blue that is far from shy in our opinion represents an incredibly fitting shade for an M3 competition package car, and this is only further bolstered by Santorini’s similarity to the light blue featured within BMW’s roundel branding. Moving inside, this Tailored Driver also features extended leather with deviated stitching in Tobago Blue, which provides an incredibly subtle tie to the bold blue exterior.
What: 1995 BMW M3 GT Color: British Racing Green (britischesrenngrün; non-metallic uni; 312 / 553; BMW Individual) VIN: WBSBF99040EA40109 Mileage: 101,900 Price at Time of this Writing: $51,000 Bid / 5 Days Left in Auction at Time of Writing CarFax: N/A Window Sticker: N/A Location: San Diego, CA Dealer listing:Link
Why we love it:
For E36 aficionados, what you’re looking at here may be one of the ultimate models – the European market only BMW M3 GT built exclusively in British Racing Green during the 1995 model year. The car was actually a homologation special, built to qualify the M3 for use in the FIA GT race series. Built only in coupé form, the M3 GT was powered by BMW’s S50B30 inline six tuned to 295 hp and sent power to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual. Production was limited to 356 units.
Other special equipment includes aluminum doors, special finish on the wheels, motorsport badges in various places, larger lip spoiler, larger adjustable trunk spoiler, sport steering wheel, black Alcantara interior with Mexico Green leather seat centers and red flecked carbon fiber.
At the time of writing, this car is still well south of the six figures where the M3 GTs usually price in. This car does show wear, including chips and scratches on the exterior, with more wear on the inside. How that affects its results in comparison to the $105,738 average we’re seeing at time of writing on Classic.com remains to be seen.
Given this car is on Cars & Bids, it has the advantage that Doug Demuro had a chance to review this specific car. Watch it in the video embedded here in this story.
We’re always fans of those creating tailored specifications electing to cross brand borders in selecting a color. Take for instance this 2025 BMW M3 Competition xDrive at Sewell BMW Plano. Ethan Ledbetter from the dealer posted it over on the BMW Individual market & discussion Group on Facebook and confirmed it’s “Smyrna Green”. Based not eh pictures, we’re next to positive it’s Porsche’s Smyrna Green (smyrnagrün; non-metallic uni; S0A; BMW).
How do we know it’s Porsche’s color? Google it and you’ll see this non-metallic green on the teal side of the green spectrum is pretty unique. While the photos in the post aren’t the greatest lighting, it’s kind of hard to mistake that color.
Here’s what else we know about the car. It’s got Orange/Black extended Merino leather, Parking Assistance Package, Executive Package, M Drive Professional, M Sport Differential, Mobility Kit, Adaptive M Suspension, M Shadowline Lights, M Carbon Bucket Seats, Drive Recorder and M Carbon Exterior Package.
We’re going to go ahead and include a link to the Facebook post along with the associated photos for reference below.
Facebook Marketplace can be an excellent place to treasure hunt for unique specification cars, as evidenced by this 2016 M3 sedan F80 sedan (wildberry; metallic; T09; BMW) painted in BMW Individual Wildberry Metallic (wildberrymetallic; metallic UNI; T09; BMW Individual) paired with Silverstone light grey interior. The car looks modified, though cleanly and minimally so, and well kept. And, for critics of the latest bucktooth BMW M3/4 generation, it’s the better-looking previous generation.
The car has 37,000 miles, making it not exactly unused, but also low mileage for its age. The owner states that he’s installed a GTS style hood, but that he still has the original that can go with the car. And while we’re sure it’s a pain to move or store, we think we’d want it even for the next owner if we purchased this great-looking Bimmer.
We’ve added photos of the car to this post, however you can find even more pictures and video along with the full listing on Facebook Marketplace HERE.
