Fairly base spec, incredibly low miles, Paint to Sample color- this Macan is a bit of a head scratcher. While there is no denying Aetna Blue as a special color, the choices made (or not made) on this Tailored Driver have us wondering why not. Agate Grey partial leather is pretty middle of the road although it does work well here, and the standard 18″ rollers do little to help this Macan stand out from the crowd. Having covered just 13,000 miles in four years of service, there is certainly no shortage of potential here, though. Perhaps you can use depreciation to your advantage, because at $41,000, it sure leaves plenty of room in the budget to further Tailor this future daily driver.

Now your entire (small) family can Kill Bugs Fast. Porsche’s SUVs might not be the shuttle of choice for some of their most hardcore enthusiasts, but it’s quite clear that the original Tailor of this particular Macan Turbo sure is. Porsche’s Arena Red Metallic was most famously used as the communications color (read: Advertisements) for the 993 Turbo, a last-of air cooled breed that routinely trades for new-Turbo money. So perhaps it could be considered a ‘deal’ then, that this Tailored Driver could be had for just $25k.

  • Paint to Sample Mexico Blue 2017 Porsche Macan S in Market

Paint to Sample Mexico Blue 2017 Porsche Macan S in Market

    What: 2017 Porsche Macan S

Fortune favors the bold, and with this Tailored Driver, you’ll need to be just that. Paint to Sample Mexico Blue on a higher mileage Macan S, with airbag-deployment history and, to top it all off, a Canadian export, the low price tag is certainly justified. But if you’re equal parts brave and extroverted, this sub-$25,000 Macan S could be the best Tailored Driver value we’ve shared since starting this journey.

  • Market Find: Paint to Sample Speed Yellow Porsche Macan

Market Find: Paint to Sample Speed Yellow Porsche Macan

While we could opine as to why exactly Porsche’s Macan seems to be the least ran when it comes to their Paint to Sample program despite being one of their ‘volume’ models, we’d prefer to take the middle ground and simply call it a shame. We’re fans of the Porsche Macan for a number of reasons, and one of our founders uses his for daily duty with great pleasure. So when a Macan pops on our radar having been graced by the Paint to Sample treatment, we’re happy to feature it here on Tailored Driver.

This particular Paint to Sample Speed Yellow Porsche Macan (VIN: WP1AA2A54RLB04475) provides a striking contrast from the grey, white, or black examples we usually see. One has to wonder if it was ordered as a companion piece to a different Speed Yellow Porsche in the original Tailor’s fleet- perhaps an older 911, or maybe even a 968 Clubsport.

Having covered just 7,744 miles and being a 2024 model year, it’s clear however that this was more of a Macan for the moment as opposed to a tenured companion. With the all-new EV Macan making it’s way through US dealers, we sure hope the replacement for this Tailored Driver shares an equally bold hue. • Porsche Ushers In Return of Slate Grey with Slate Grey Neo

Porsche Ushers In Return of Slate Grey with Slate Grey Neo

Porsche chose the introduction of the Macan 4S, a middleweight take on the new electric Macan, to confirm its reintroduction of an iconic grey color made famous by Steve McQueen. Slate Grey Neo will now be made available for the Macan E. Interestingly, it also appears to be a standard color on the new 992.2 Porsche 911 GTS hybrid.

If you’ve ever watched the iconic Steve McQueen movie Le Mans, you probably remember the opening of the movie where McQueen’s character rolls through the city of Le Mans’ old historic center and pausing to stop in front of the Roman-era cathedral. In that scene, he’s driving a Slate Grey 911S. Over the years, the movie and that car have all enjoyed icon status. In fact, it left such an impression on McQueen that he ended up owning an identically specced car back at home in Los Angeles.

As Porsche has reformulated some of its classic colors for modern cars and painting with a series of “Neo”-named hues, that it would revisit Slate Grey was probably always to be expected. The overall results are certainly very attractive.

Interestingly, though Porsche confirmed Slate Grey Neo for the electric Macan 4S, it didn’t reveal any photos of that car in that particular color just yet. When we searched the brand’s photo stock inventory though, we did find shots of the new 992.2 GTS hybrid in the same color and have formatted them here for this story.
