Woking Harks McLaren F1 Le Mans Winner, Launches 750S Le Mans Special Edition

McLaren is headed back to Le Mans, 30 years since the brand’s most recent victory at the fabled French endurance race. In as much, there’s plenty to celebrate and Woking plans to do that with this special edition 750S coupe.

On June 18, it will have been 30 years since drivers JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas and Masanori Sekiya stood on the top of the podium beneath the iconic Rolex race clock and celebrated their victory – the first appearance at Le Mans for McLaren, though it would be their only victory there since.

Acknowledging that 30-year anniversary will be just 50 examples of McLaren’s 750S. The design features a new MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK) that bestow the 750S with additional track-focused enhancements. Further additions include a roof scoop, unique 5-spoke LM wheel design harkening the wheels of the 1995 Le Mans-winning car plus further Le Mans branding.

Colors will be limited as well, though several will be offered. These include Le Mans Grey or McLaren Orange exterior. Inside, Carbon Black with Dove Grey or Carbon Black with McLaren Orange interiors are meant to complement or contrast.

McLaren plans a return to Le Mans, and is set to arrive in 2027 with a new LMDh prototype squarely aimed at that top step beneath the Rolex clock. Until then, 50 lucky McLaren owners can celebrate the plan in their very own 750S Le Mans special edition.

Further details can be found in the original press release and gallery below.

McLaren Automotive celebrates the 30th anniversary of its winning debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans – completing a unique Triple Crown* achievement – and McLaren’s return to the top class of the event from 2027. With just 50 cars being built, the 750S Le Mans is set to be one of the most sought-after McLaren series production supercars.

On June 18, 1995 McLaren F1 GTR #59 – driven by JJ Lehto, Yannick Dalmas and Masanori Sekiya – won the gruelling 24-hour race, joined by three more McLaren F1 GTRs in the top five placings. Just days before the 30th anniversary, two McLaren GT3 EVO cars – based on the 750S – will compete for LMGT3 honours at this year’s edition of the endurance classic.

The McLaren 750S Le Mans pays homage to the iconic #59 F1 GTR with matching Le Mans Grey exterior paint – with the option of McLaren Orange also available – roof scoop and 5-spoke LM wheels. It will also feature the new MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK), which adds visual drama to the 750S with a raised carbon fibre Active Rear Spoiler with integral endplates. In conjunction with a front bumper featuring an enlarged carbon fibre splitter and rear wing, downforce is increased by 10 per cent compared to the standard 750S, enhancing track performance and echoing the famous McLaren F1 LM edition’s aerodynamic additions. Completing the HDK package is a new body-coloured carbon fibre under-wing panel featuring gloss black louvres.

McLaren 750S Le Mans customers will also have a choice of Carbon Black with Dove Grey or Carbon Black with McLaren Orange interior colour combinations with Le Mans branding and a dedication plaque, with all cars featuring a portfolio of unique features as standard:

Purchasers of the Le Mans edition cars will also benefit from the multi-award winning** benchmark-beating 750S performance delivered by the mid-mounted, 750PS M840T 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 McLaren engine. A motorsport-inspired carbon fibre Monocage II central structure and Proactive Chassis Control III suspension system help to ensure that the 750S is the lightest and most agile car in its class, now enhanced by the HDK aerodynamic additions.

“The 750S Le Mans marks not just 30 years since our debut victory in the iconic race but an exciting time for the brand with McLaren GT3 EVO cars competing in this year’s race and the announcement of our return to the top, Hypercar class in 2027.

Dörr Motorsport Creates McLaren 750S DTM Collector’s Edition

Celebrating the start of the 2025 DTM season, Dörr Motorsport has worked with McLaren Special Operations to create a limited edition 750S Dörr Motorsport DTM Collector’s Edition. The car celebrates the association between Dörr and their McLaren based campaign in the legendary German racing series.

Painted Anniversary Orange (anniversaryorange; non-metallic UNI; 39538; McLaren), the car also features chrome logos, DTM branding and blue accents in team colors. Inside, the model boasts racing harnesses, a roll cage and details harkening the Dörr association including embroidered starting numbers on the seats.

Only six cars will be built – three coupes and three spiders. Unfortunately, this is a European market only affair. Still, if you’re curious, perhaps Dörr and McLaren Special Operations can help you spec something similar.

Sort of the opposite of that line from Field of Dreams, McLaren Special Operations exists in a world of If you come we will build it. Understandably, this can take the form of an infinite number of different Tailored Drivers, so it makes our life a bit more difficult. Take this Satin Urban Green 765LT for example- we simply can’t find a color code, nor can we find another example of MSO painting a car this color. Search after search only returns this exact car wearing different wheels. Now, we can surmise that MSO borrowed an existing color, likely BMW’s Urban Green, and applied it lovingly with a satin clear final stage, and called it a day. If that is indeed the case, then paint code goes from unknown to a variation of the “YA04” that we’ve seen before and is linked above.

So here we are, exactly where we find ourselves with many McLaren finds, wondering what the precise code is. It’s admittedly at times a frustrating endeavor, but as Tailored Driver grows we want to catalog and feature builds such as these to provide equal parts reference and inspiration. For now, place this MSO build in that bucket. We can’t wait to see how you interpret it with your very own Tailored Driver.

Okay, this is both not a North American spec car nor is it old enough for easy import. It’s so special though, we’re making an exception. We figure the motivated owner who can afford it likely isn’t terribly worried about importation and road registration in the U.S. or Canada. At least, that was the excuse we’re telling ourselves to add this car to our blog.

The P1 was McLaren’s first hypercar since the legendary F1. In its time, it teed up against the likes of the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari. 375 cars were built, making it more exclusive than either the Porsche or the Ferrari.

The car you see here was delivered new to Qatar, and is painted a non-specified shade of “Matte Green”. It’s one of “only a handful” to boast matte paintwork according to RM. And while that exterior is a bit subdued military spec, the interior is decidedly more rowdy in McLaren Orange. The orange continues to the P1 graphics and McLaren badges front and rear that are typically painted in red. Also orange are the brake calipers, wheel caps, tops of the rear spoiler, hydraulic rams, top of the engine and side skirts just aft the front wheels.

Beyond the seats, McLaren Orange accents continue through the interior including contrast stitching, P1 logos in the headrests, upper dashboard and steering wheel. Elements such as switchgear for the IRIS system, powertrain management, trim surrounding the start button and light and mirror switches on the driver’s side door are also color-matched in McLaren Orange.

    Why we love it:

The chance for a do-over is oftentimes appealing, whether it be something in your personal or professional live. But the opportunity is one that simply doesn’t exist in most situations, so for those select few, if you get the shot you best take it. McLaren Special Operations offered those with a car and cash the chance to do just that in 2022, inviting SLR McLaren Benzes back to Woking for some additional love. The list of goodies is longer than we care to dive into (full review here), and about 30 clients took them up on the offer. This particular Tailored Driver was the recipient of a host of upgrades including body, suspension, cooling and more, but the big winner for us is the fully tailored MSO interior. The combination of Blue with Houndstooth is a clear homage to the 300SL, and looks right at home here.

Market Find: MSO Velocity Fistral Blue to Atlantic Blue McLaren 765LT

McLaren Special Operations will do just about whatever you want, and the original Tailor of this McLaren 765LT (VIN: SBM14SCA9NW765146) made it their mission to push the limits. The result is a vehicle with not just one, but two bespoke MSO paint hues, and a claimed $40,000+ in MSO touches. Mission accomplished.

This McLaren 765 LT features MSO Velocity paint, in this case fading from the bright MSO Fistral Blue to the more subdued MSO Atlantic Blue, with matching MSO painted brake calipers (Fistral up front, Atlantic out back), which we can confirm was worth the risk. It’s an absolutely stunning finish, making it all the better that this Tailor kept the interior tame. Black vented fabric on matte Carbon Fiber Racing Seats was the move, and MSO stitching on the headrest with model designation is a tasteful play.

In all, the McLaren 765LT you see here carried an original sticker of just over half a million dollars. Fortunately for someone, this Tailored Driver could be theirs for $639,765, representing an appreciation of about $80/mile experienced by the prior owner. We’d say that’s money well spent.

Get all the details on this Tailored Driver, by checking out the full listing here.

McLaren’s MSO division makes it’s impact by doing just about whatever their clients demand. Multiple colors, gradients, and even full liveries are all well within scope, admittedly to differing levels of success. In my opinion, this is one big swing that really paid off.

When I think McLaren, I think muted exterior and a wild-ass contrasting interior. In today’s example, MSO went full purple-haze by pairing MSO Bespoke Purple leather with the relatively tame Onyx Black. Although Onyx does have a fairly prominent metallic flake, you’d be forgiven if you never noticed.

Is this insane? Perhaps, but if the above is the litmus, we’d happily be certified.

This Tailored Driver (VIN: SBM14FCA6NW006381) is currently available in Bonita Springs, FL at Gulf Coast Motorworks having covered just under 3,000 miles since it left Woking. It could be yours for an at time of writing $309,995.

Building on the 750S introduced in 2023 as a replacement for the award-winning 720S, the 2025 model year specification of McLaren’s benchmark-beating supercar offers enhanced optional specification and new levels of colorful visual personalization, including new content packs created by McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

The new MSO Contrast Packs provide the customer with the opportunity to further enhance their 750S with the trademark craftsmanship of MSO, McLaren’s bespoke personalization division. MSO’s dedication to creating the most alluring and unique paint colors – unparalleled in the automotive industry – paired with expert design and the world-class execution of incredible projects such as the remarkable 750S with 3-7-59 Theme, inspires a new range of options.

12 pre-configured themes for the MSO Contrast Packs are available, while other combinations can be explored upon request. The packs are available at time of purchase and within the standard retailer ordering process.

MSO Contrast Pack 1 bundles a selection of MSO Bespoke paints not available as regular colors (Volcano Red, Volcano Orange, Anniversary Orange, Solar Yellow, Napier Green, XP Green, Tokyo Pearl, Viola Viola, Dove Grey, Soho Grey, Tarmac Black, Alaskan Diamond White) with a Bespoke paint for the brake calipers and a unique pinstripe effect on the door mirror caps (matching or contrasting colors for calipers and pinstripe, depending on body paint color selected).

Customers wanting even more MSO content can choose Contrast Pack 2, which features the exterior features of Pack 1 in combination with bespoke interior treatments. These include full Alcantara interior upholstery in Carbon Black and colorful interior accents and MSO motif headrests, complementing or contrasting with the MSO paint color selected.

The range of regular options on 750S extends for the 2025 model year to include Stealth badging, which comprises black McLaren badges front and rear as well as a black McLaren Speedmark on each wheel center cap. Body Color Carbon Fibre Front Fenders with Gloss Visual Carbon Fibre Louvres are also new to the options list, now available separately as a line-fit choice to the combined option of Body Color Carbon Fibre Fenders with Body Color Louvres.

The Stop/Start button on the 750S changes to Papaya orange for 2025 model year cars. Papaya is McLaren Racing’s traditional color, seen first in the M6A Can-Am racer in 1967 and adopted by the McLaren Formula 1 team – then competing under the Bruce McLaren Motor Racing banner – during the 1968 championship.

“In its first year on sale the 750S has been a huge success. The car’s stellar reception with both the media who have driven it and with customers has exceeded all expectations, and the Model Year enhancements for 750S with new options from McLaren Special Operations ensure it remains a benchmark defining supercar with exclusivity and remarkable craftsmanship. It is a core part of our line-up with new Artura Spider and coupe, and the new GTS; a strengthened McLaren line-up that is more thrilling than ever.”
George Biggs, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, McLaren Automotive

2025 model year 750S, the new Artura Spider and coupe and the new McLaren GTS are available to order now at one of over 100 locations in McLaren’s global retailer network, spanning 40 markets. Customers desiring further bespoke personalization for their new order can also explore the possibility of a virtual spec session with McLaren Special Operations by contacting their retailer.

    About McLaren Automotive:
McLaren Automotive is a producer of ultra high-performance, lightweight supercars. Launched in 2010, the company is now the largest part of the McLaren Group.

Headquartered at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) in Woking, Surrey, England, McLaren Automotive is driven by the challenge of creating the world’s most exhilarating, engaging and benchmark setting vehicles. Leveraging the McLaren name’s 60-year history of authentic, racing performance, it has delivered some of the most spectacular supercars ever made.

The company’s product portfolio of GTS, supercar, Motorsport and Ultimate models are retailed in over 40 markets around the world. Its cars are assembled by hand at the McLaren Production Centre (MPC), based on the same campus as MTC in Woking.

McLaren is a pioneer that continuously pushes the boundaries. In 1981, it introduced lightweight and strong carbon fibre chassis technology into Formula 1 with the McLaren MP4/1.

Then in 1993 it designed and built the legendary McLaren F1 road car. Built around a carbon fibre chassis, it established McLaren’s supercar DNA, realized for the 21st century in 2011 with the introduction of the McLaren 12C – McLaren Automotive’s first production car.

McLaren was the first to deliver a hybrid hypercar, the McLaren P1™, in 2013. Launching the Ultimate Series of vehicles, P1™ was followed by the McLaren Senna in 2018 and its track-only GTR derivative followed a year later. 2019 also saw the introduction of the Speedtail hybrid hyper-GT. Its most recent Ultimate model, Elva, is the lightest McLaren road car ever.

McLaren’s LT models represent the ultimate expression of track performance in series production supercars. The name stems from the ‘Longtail’ version of the F1 GTR, introduced in 1997, and was incorporated into McLaren Automotive nomenclature in 2015 with the arrival of the McLaren 650S-based 675LT coupe and Spider. In 2018, the LT legend continued with the McLaren 570S-based 600LT. The latest chapter in the LT story was written in 2020 and 2021, with the introduction of the 765LT coupe and Spider.

Also in 2021, the company unveiled its all-new high-performance hybrid supercar, the McLaren Artura. The Artura is the first McLaren to benefit from the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). The MCLA is designed, developed and manufactured at the McLaren Composites Technology Centre in the Sheffield region of England using world-first processes and will spearhead the brand’s electrified future.

2022 saw McLaren announce the Solus GT, a single-seat, closed-cockpit track car which brought to life a futuristic concept that was originally created for virtual gaming.

In 2023, McLaren unveiled its lightest and most powerful series-production supercar, the 750S – a thorough development of the award-winning 720S supercar. McLaren also introduced the new GTS, replacing the McLaren GT.

The McLaren Artura Spider was revealed in early 2024 as the brand’s first high-performance hybrid convertible. Its introduction was part of a major model year uplift for the Artura nameplate, and meant McLaren’s series-production line-up of GTS, new Artura and 750S had been introduced within 12 months of each other.

McLaren Automotive also chooses to partner with like-minded, world-leading companies and organizations who push the boundaries in their respective fields. These include Ashurst, Bowers & Wilkins, Dynisma, Gulf, Monroe, Pirelli, Plan International, Richard Mille and Tumi.

Formula 1 star Lando Norris has collected his own McLaren 765LT Spider, personalised by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) and originally presented to him at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, England.

The 23-year-old chose a unique specification for his car, heavily influenced by his personal branding. The MSO Lando Norris 1 of 1 is instantly recognisable by its Gloss Blue Tint Visual Carbon Fibre exterior with contrasting Satin Visual Carbon Fibre details, which echoes the lightweight and strong material that has formed the basis of all McLaren road and race cars since the revolutionary MP4/1 Formula 1 car in 1981.

The distinctive exterior finish of Lando’s 765LT is complemented by Satin Black wheels and is contrasted by Lando Yellow brake calipers, the same colour used for Lando’s own four stripe Graphic – reflecting his race number – which appears above the right-side eye socket and under the active rear wing, the latter feature visible only during high-downforce deployment. The wing also features MSO branding in Gloss Blue Tint Visual Carbon Fibre on a Satin Carbon Fibre insert on its upper surface.

Other external features include all three Carbon Fibre Exterior Upgrade Packs, which incorporates the Front Splitter, Front fenders & Rear Diffuser, Air Intakes, Side Skirts and Door Mirrors. The roof Tonneau and Rear Aero Bridge are also finished in MSO Defined Carbon Fibre. The exterior is finished with the MSO Defined Carbon Fibre Hood, adorned with a lightweight Dark Chrome McLaren badge. In addition, the Stealth Pack adds a discreet finish to the Rear Wing mechanism and the Titanium Exhaust’s signature quad-exit.

The interior continues Lando’s colour scheme, which is visible from the outside when the Retractable Hard Top – featuring a glass Electrochromic Roof – is lowered. The Carbon Fibre Racing Seats are trimmed in Navy Blue with Napier Stitching. In addition, the head rests are embroidered with Lando’s personal initial ‘LN4’ branding. There are also Navy Blue Alcantara and Napier Stitching highlights on the door and dash trim and the door appliques have a painted white pinstripe.

There are additional hidden interior features, most noticeably the MSO Custom Dark Tint Carbon Union Flag Sill with Lando Graphic visible when opening the doors. Below the MSO Custom Steering Wheel with Blue Tint Carbon Fade, 12 O’Clock Marker in white and Lando Yellow Lando Graphic, is the MSO Custom Floor Mat – repeated on the passenger side – with LN4 branding and Napier Stitching, placed ahead of Blue Anodised Pedals. The distractive interior is completed with a unique MSO Dedication Plaque confirming the exclusive commission by Lando.

The personalisation is complete with the keyfob finished in Gloss Blue Tint Visual Carbon Fibre with Lando Graphic in Lando Yellow.

The McLaren 765LT is the latest car to carry the hallowed Longtail name, which was first associated with the legendary McLaren F1 GTR in 1997. The 765LT is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine developing 765PS and 800Nm, delivering a blistering acceleration time of 0-200km/h in just seven seconds. Astonishing levels of driver engagement, ultra-light weight and sophisticated track-developed suspension contribute to a thrilling driving experience.

With just 765 examples made – all of which have been sold – Lando’s McLaren 765LT Spider is one of the most exclusive of the production run. Watch Lando collect his car at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azuJ5QJvfjw
