Market Find: 2016 Audi exclusive Nardo Grey A7

    Mileage: 91,900 miles
Price at Time of this Writing: $16,000
    CarFax: N/A
    Window Sticker: N/A
Location: Avilone Auto Group, Dallas, TX
    Dealer listing: Link

    Why we love it:

The nuance of what is truly special or not can be tiresome to most, but our guess is that if you were in that camp, you wouldn’t be here. It’s through that lens, that we feature this Tailored Driver. Nardo Grey was offered on the Audi A7 as a standard color on the Competition variants, of which this is not and it predates by two years. Squint harder, and you’ll see this A7 has standard (non S-line) bumpers, comfort seats, a round steering wheel, and lacks the red painted brake calipers of the Competition. Wood grain on the dash and door panels further separates this from it’s Competition package brethren, but RS 7 wheels and grill do add back some aggression. The best part? That’d be the price- just $16,000.

  • Market Find: 2016 RS 7 performance in Nogaro Blue at Audi Naples

Market Find: 2016 RS 7 performance in Nogaro Blue at Audi Naples

Price at Time of this Writing: $69,240

    Location: Audi Naples, Naples, FL
    Dealer listing: Link

    Why we love it:

Our friend Sam Brandes from Audi Wilmington told us recently that he’s seeing a renaissance for the C7 RS 7 Sportback. According to Sam, he’s moved several over the last few weeks and he’s buying any good examples he can find for his dealership’s inventory in order to satiate this market desire. In the vein of C7 RS 7s then, we’re not sure there are many specs that are more desirable than an RS 7 performance painted Audi exclusive Nogaro Blue. Bonus points for low mileage and condition.

In the case of this RS 7 that’s just entered inventory at Audi Naples, there’s a premium for the low mileage of 22,900. From our perspective, that’s either collector grade miles or it’s about as new as you’re going to find in this market should you be a Zuckerman and want to buy the ultimate vintage example then drive it because that’s what one does with great cars.

Other notable equipment includes a sport exhaust from the factory by Akrapović. At the time, Audi had invested in the Slovenian manufacturer of titanium exhaust systems, and Akrapović was developing race exhausts for the RS 5 DTM and R18 e-tron quattro LMP1 Le Mans racer. The tie-in offered the ultimate credibility to the purveyor of ultimate titanium exhausts. In period, Audi did offer S6 and S7 exhausts from the dealer and built to Audi spec, though the exhaust on this car is believed to be an Akrapović exhaust sold via their own Akrapović retailers.

If you’re seeking the ultimate specification C7 RS 7, we’re not sure you can do better than this one. Yes, you’ll find them cheaper, but we doubt you’ll find one this nice.

Market Find: 2016 BMW Individual Frozen Black Metallic M6 Coupe

    What: 2016 BMW M6 Coupe

    Location: North Port, FL
    Auction listing: Link

    Why we love it:

To quote Cars and Bids founder Doug Demuro, now THIS is cool! A Tailored Driver that’s just as spec-rare as it is production rare, this BMW Individual Frozen Black M6 coupe is one of just 23 total LCI models to be optioned with a 6 speed manual, and one of 68 to feature it throughout the model’s 5 year run. As an added bonus, this M6 was also optioned with a BMW Individual Opal White interior. While it does carry a Lemon branding on the title, this could be a cheap ticket to one of the most rare modern BMW’s available.

  • Market Find: 2016 Porsche Paint to Sample Birch Green Cayman GT4

Market Find: 2016 Porsche Paint to Sample Birch Green Cayman GT4

    What: 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4
Color: Porsche Paint to Sample Birch Green (birkegrün; 253; Porsche)
    VIN: WP0AC2A88GK191175
    Mileage: 17,253
Price at Time of this Writing: $139,900
    CarFax: N/A
    MonroneyLabels.com Window Sticker: Link
    Location: Portland, Oregon
    Dealer listing: Gran Prix Motors

    Why we love it:

We’ve long been fans of the Cayman GT4, and equally fans of the more ‘acidic’ greens like Lotus’s Krypton Green which was one of the less common colors applied to their Exige and Elise models. We’re also suckers for detail and theme. Here, Paint to Sample Birch Green flows from the exterior to the cabin of this Cayman GT4, with Birch applied to the cloth door pulls, seat belts, and key fob. Rounding out what we feel to be a top tier GT4 spec are Bucket seats, extended leather dash (with Race Tex on the lower half), and steel brakes.

  • Market Find: BMW Individual Austin Yellow 435i

Market Find: BMW Individual Austin Yellow 435i

While we sadly are not able to verify, this Tailored Driver screams “Auto Show special.” It’s a relatively simple concept- a manufacturer needs to maximize eyeballs in a competitive environment, so they swing for the fences. This is generally even more apparent in large markets events that are manufacturer supported, with shows like Miami and LA being the best examples. If that is indeed the case with this BMW Individual Austin Yellow (austingelb; metallic; B67; BMW) 435i, we say it’s a job well done.

Painted in the aforementioned BMW Individual Austin Yellow paint, more commonly seen on the F80 generation M3, this 435i (VIN: WBA4B1C55GG241995) is a fairly divisive proposition. Apart from the color, BMW simply calling this a 4-series rather than a 3-series was something that rattled the enthusiast community. Thankfully, BMW quickly put that fire out by unveiling the new 4 series with it’s controversial grille.

Getting back on topic, we’re big fans of Austin Yellow and the similar Phoenix Yellow that precedes it, and while Ivory White leather isn’t at the top of our list, we think the build works incredibly well. This Tailored Driver has covered approximately 34,000 miles since new, and is currently on offer at Hollywood, Florida’s Godspeed Motors for an asking price of $25,995. • Market Find: Audi exclusive Goodwood Green RS 7

Market Find: Audi exclusive Goodwood Green RS 7

Some variation of “I’d take the fast one, in some shade of green” is a common utterance around our office, so to say this fits the bill would be an understatement. Offered currently on Bring a Trailer, this 2016 Audi RS 7 was Tailored in Audi exclusive Goodwood Green (goodwoodgrün; pearl effect UNI; Z6X; Audi), a color which Audi has tried their best to make ‘stick’ with limited take-rate in each instance. We’ll blame the dealers, because to us it’s damn near perfect.

In fact, the pairing of Audi exclusive Goodwood Green over Silver Valcona leather with the slightly deviated Rock Grey stitching is so striking, it seems the owner enjoyed looking at it more than they enjoyed using it. Just 16,000 miles has been covered since this RS 7 was delivered in 2016, which is a real shame.

Your chance to right this wrong is just days away however, as this Audi exclusive Goodwood Green RS 7 will go to a new owner when the Bring a Trailer auction closes later this week. Follow the auction live, here.
