Market Find: Audi exclusive Merlin Purple RS 6 Avant performance in Englewood, NJ

Most of the time, Audi exclusive orders are “sold orders”, meaning they’ve got an eager buyer waiting on them who carefully chose their specification. Sometimes that buyer is unable to take delivery, and sometimes these tailored cars get ordered for inventory. We can’t say we know the back story on this RS 6 Avant performance (VIN: WUA1DBF21RN905489) in stock at Audi Englewood in Englewood, NJ.

How do we know? Audi Englewood’s Andrew DeTerlizzi posted the car in the Audi Exclusive Classifieds / Listing Spotters (USA) user group on Facebook. We could see the car along with actual photos of the car on Audi Englewood’s website (HERE), but until Andrew posted it we weren’t sure of the exact color of purple. Now, thanks to him, we can confirm it’s Merlin Purple (merlin purple; pearl effect; 4B / LZ3W / Z3W; Audi). Thanks to Andrew for posting it in the group (a regular haunt of ours), and his confirming the final color.

Here’s what we know about the car. It’s an RS 6 performance (basically all MY2024 RS 6s short of the GT are), and features Black Optic Package, Executive Package, and Audi Guard Protection Kit. It’s listed with an MSRP of $151,355. We have not contacted the dealer to verify if any dealer markup is involved.

  • Color Check: Paint to Sample X Blue on Porsche 911 Turbo S Lightweight “000” Commission at Porsche Main Line

Color Check: Paint to Sample X Blue on Porsche 911 Turbo S Lightweight “000” Commission at Porsche Main Line

Porsche is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 911 Turbo this year, and 000 Magazine is doing the same this coming weekend with their Turbo 50 celebration at Summit Skywalker Ranch. Given that, it’s worth celebrating this X Blue 911 Turbo S owned by Drew Coblitz, purchased through Porsche Main Line. It is reportedly the first delivered 911 Turbo S “000 Commission” and was recently detailed more specifically by @PTSRS.

Given all that, let’s dig into the details. For starters, the X Blue (xblau; non-metallic UNI; Z91; Porsche) color is Paint to Sample and non-metallic. This blue is a modern blue formulation created for the 911 (992.1) Belgian Legends Edition created in 2020 to honor Jacky Ickx 75th birthday. It’s a solid blue that is reportedly darker than Dark Sea Blue and is offered on the 911 and Taycan. Given the Ickx association, it’s quite likely it also harks the dark blue of Rothman’s Racing liveries his Porsches wore in races such as the Paris-Dakar Rally or 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Side Note: @PTSRS has an interesting indexing format for paints seen here (name; type; code), and we’re going to adopt that with the addition of brand (name; type; code; brand) since we cover more than just Porsche. The intention is to adopt more universal standardization of paint code identity when we know the code and type. In this case, it’s (xblau; non-metallic UNI; Z91; Porsche).

Back to the 000 Commission specification, it’s based on an “off the menu” mix created to be built in conjunction with the a 911 Turbo S with factory Lightweight Package. From there, special wishes details were chosen along a theme celebrating David Donner‘s victory at the 100th Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb. In that race, Donner’s 9 minutes 53 second record run was performed in a 000 Magazine liveried 911 Turbo S #000. A creative mix of details and easter eggs thanks to ample deployment of Sonderwunsch services complete the specification.

@PTSRS inventories the Sonderwunsch details as such:

    • Laser-etched “000” on Front Bumper Grille as on Pikes Peak Winner
    • Exterior Mirrors in Carmine Red as on Pikes Peak Winner
    • “Peak 100” Logo Decals on Doors
    • 000 Decal under Rear Wing as on Pikes Peak Winner
    • Illuminated Door-Sill Guards in Matte Carbon with 000 Logo
    • Center Armrest embossed with Pikes Peak course map and “9:53”
    • Custom Dashboard Inlay denoting #000 911 Turbo S’s Class Win and PPIHC Certified Course Time
    • Derpy in the Fuel Cap

For a client to order an “000 Commission”, they must build from a 911 Turbo S Coupe allocation, adding the Lightweight Package, Full Bucket Seats or 18-way Sport Seats Plus, 20/21-inch 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels, Wheel Inlays Painted High Gloss Black and Calipers in High Gloss Black.

From there, they can coordinate with their Porsche dealer to create a Sonderwunsch order with the factory. And while the “000 Commission” can be ordered on any color 911 Turbo S so-fitted, they’ll also need a Paint to Sample allocation if they wish to do special paint like the Coblitz X Blue car.

  • Market Find: First Publicly Available 2024 Aston Martin Valour

Market Find: First Publicly Available 2024 Aston Martin Valour

So far as we know, the car you see here is the first Aston Martin Valour to hit the open market and come publicly available. We found it via UK Aston Martin specialists Nicholas Mee, and rather unsurprisingly… it is UK spec with right-hand drive.

Specifically, this car is believed to be one of just 20 UK-specification cars built, Aston Martin’s Q division finished it in Special Caribbean Pearl, a color that is a throwback to the 1960’s era of production. Inside, the car boasts bespoke Onyx Black, Sahara Tan and Alcantara.

Optional extras added to the specification of this car include; 110th anniversary pack, Bronze anodized front grille and rear strip, Bronze interior brightwork, walnut gear knob, Bronze coloured brake callipers, Carbon Fibre performance seats, Dark Knight carpets, gloss Carbon fibre lower package, gloss carbon fibre side fender vent and Exo blades, gloss Carbon fibre interior upper package, gold under bonnet pack, Q sill pinstripes, Q 21” Bronze tinted wheels, Q Satin Carbon fibre treadplates, Sports steering wheel with Carbon fibre and Alcantara, Havana Tan interior stitching and Tan seatbelts. Further, unique features to this particular car also include, Union Jack Aston Martin wing badges and leather headlining with Aston Martin artwork. A full and detailed specification is available on request.

The Valour is undoubtedly a future classic, with design highly-inspired by Aston’s one-off Victor. It’s powered by Aston’s 5.2-liter V12 twin turbo boasting 705 bhp and 550 lbs ft of torque. That’s all paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, offering the highest performance paired with an analog experience.

Check out more photos and an in-depth description on the Nicholas Mee website HERE.

  • Market Find: Paint to Sample Nato Olive Porsche GT4 RS Manthey Racing

Market Find: Paint to Sample Nato Olive Porsche GT4 RS Manthey Racing

As with all Porsche models wearing the RS badge, the Porsche GT4 RS is no slouch in standard trim. And for those who like to tinker, it proves one hell of a starting point. Enter Manthey Racing, diverting some attention from running GT works competition for Porsche Motorsport, to offer their hyper-focused expertise via Porsche Techquipment for GT4 RS owners.

This particular example (VIN: WP0AE2A85RK274334) is what we’d call peak spec- Paint to Sample Nato Olive paint, contrasting yellow seat belts, door pulls, and model script, wheels finished in gold, and the Weissach Package. To further sharpen the knife, Manthey contributes revised aero, bespoke coil over suspension, and stainless steel brake lines among numerous other touches.

Currently on offer at the legendary Champion Porsche in Pompano Beach, Florida for an asking price of $304,900, this Paint to Sample Nato Olive Porsche GT4 RS Manthey Racing has covered just 82 miles since new, making us think it’s served as a promotional piece. • Market Find: Paint to Sample Speed Yellow Porsche Macan

Market Find: Paint to Sample Speed Yellow Porsche Macan

While we could opine as to why exactly Porsche’s Macan seems to be the least ran when it comes to their Paint to Sample program despite being one of their ‘volume’ models, we’d prefer to take the middle ground and simply call it a shame. We’re fans of the Porsche Macan for a number of reasons, and one of our founders uses his for daily duty with great pleasure. So when a Macan pops on our radar having been graced by the Paint to Sample treatment, we’re happy to feature it here on Tailored Driver.

This particular Paint to Sample Speed Yellow Porsche Macan (VIN: WP1AA2A54RLB04475) provides a striking contrast from the grey, white, or black examples we usually see. One has to wonder if it was ordered as a companion piece to a different Speed Yellow Porsche in the original Tailor’s fleet- perhaps an older 911, or maybe even a 968 Clubsport.

Having covered just 7,744 miles and being a 2024 model year, it’s clear however that this was more of a Macan for the moment as opposed to a tenured companion. With the all-new EV Macan making it’s way through US dealers, we sure hope the replacement for this Tailored Driver shares an equally bold hue. Find more information about this Paint to Sample Speed Yellow Porsche Macan on Porsche Santa Clarita’s website, here.

  • Color Check: M3 CS in BMW Individual Signal Green Solid

Color Check: M3 CS in BMW Individual Signal Green Solid

Signal Green is a common name thrown out over the years. While perhaps not as ubiquitously used as say a British Racing Green, we’re guessing that Signal Green (signalgrün; non-metallic uni; P56; BMW) isn’t always the same Signal Green. Granted, Signal is usually a primary green, but whether it’s formulated the same remains to be seen. In this case, we’re talking about BMW Individual’s take on Signal Green solid.

BMW M posted photos of this M3 CS on their social media channels earlier today. Not much is known about further spec on the car due to the nature of a short social media post. Nevertheless, the photos are a solid (ahem) indication of what a BMW Individual client will get should they specify “Signal Green” from the house of M.

  • Color Check: Bentley Continental GTC Speed First Edition in Bronze

Color Check: Bentley Continental GTC Speed First Edition in Bronze

As part of the Global Media Drive for the new Continental GT Speed in Andermatt Switzerland, Bentley has released photos of each car on location for the drive. This includes full build specifications. Over the last few days we’ve been color checking all of them, and our final specification is this tasteful brown droptop.

Technically, the Mulliner hue is known simply as Bronze. Whether bronze (little B) or brown we really don’t care. It’s attractive, and that is especially so when paired with granite painted exterior brightware and machined 22-inch ten swept spoke wheels.

The specification gets even better on the inside where the monotone cabin is Cumbrian Green leather with Camel accents, dark tint Engine Turned Aluminum fascias and contrast stitching throughout.

Worth noting, the car also has several options that we’ll list here along with U.S. pricing. These include First Edition Specification ($41,190), Carbon Ceramic Brakes with Painted Calipers ($18,820), Extended Range Solid and Metallic Paint ($8,655), 22-inch Ten Swept Spoke Wheels ($4,000) and Contrast Stitching ($3,930).

First Edition Specification includes Touring Specification, Front Seat Comfort Specification, Front Wellness Seating including postural and lumbar adjustment, Naim Audio, Bentley Rotating Display, Technical Veneer Choice or Single Finish Veneer, Animated LED Welcome Lamps by Mulliner, Mood Lighting Specification, Deep Pile Overmats front and rear, First Edition Exterior Badge, First Edition Treadplates, First Edition Embroidery to Seats, Garage Door Opener and Valet Key.

Front Seat Comfort Specification (included in First Edition Specification) includes Adjustable Seat Bolsters, Adjustable Seat Cushion Length, Power Adjustable Headrest, Ventilation and Massage, Heated Front Armrest and Hide Trimmed Seat Belt Buckles.

Touring Specification (included in First Edition Specification) includes Lane Guidance, Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control, Night Vision and Head-up Display.

  • Market Find: 2024 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG in Manufaktur Olive Metallic

Market Find: 2024 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG in Manufaktur Olive Metallic

The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is a rare car, and painted a special paint color does make it even more uncommon. So, it’s important to underline that this is an exceptionally rare car just as we’re about to tell you it’s pretty common.

Okay, it’s not exactly grey C-class common, but it’s a highly sought-after premium SUV (G63) in a the commonly chosen special paint color Manufaktur Olive Metallic. Think of it as a Gulf Blue 911. One sort of begets the other.

And why shouldn’t it? If you can afford one of Merc’s current big G-wagens, then ordering it in this color is a solid move. The overall look is stunning, especially when paired with Espresso Brown and Black Leather as this specimen.
