Color Check: Oak Green Metallic 991.2 GT3 Touring at Air Water 2025

Events like Air|Water bring a wave of vibrant colors from the Porsche community. When it’s thoughtfully curated, it feels like being a kid in a candy store. @PTSRS and Air|Water teamed up to present “Colors of Air|Water,” and we spent hours capturing content for our site. The rain didn’t stop us. It added mood and contrast, bringing each color to life in both overcast light and the bright California sun.

We continue the series with a standout solo feature: a 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring in Paint to Sample Oak Green Metallic. Everyone has their own definition of the perfect spec, but this one feels universally right. On her Bramo profile, Hannah shares, “Purchased in July 2024. My second 911, but my first GT3. Specifically bought this GT3 T for its stellar ownership history—low 6k mileage, perfect DME report, serviced and driven with care. PTS Oak Green Metallic. Understated and classy without the wing. My Porsche addiction started when I first drove my 991.2 7MT 911 Carrera T. I’m at my happiest while I’m behind the wheel of my 911s.”

Understated and classy without the wing? We couldn’t agree more.

Oak Green Metallic (oakgrünmetallic; metallic uni; 265 / 22L / 60K) is a classic Porsche shade rooted in the brand’s 1980s and 1990s catalog. Though offered as a standard color during that era, it remained relatively uncommon. Today, it returns through Porsche’s Paint to Sample program, preserving its distinctive character as an elegant green with prominent gold flake and a warmer tone than its modern counterpart, Oak Green Metallic Neo. Its rarity and vintage appeal have made it a favorite among enthusiasts aiming to evoke Porsche heritage with a timeless factory-correct look.

The Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer you see here was completed just a few months ago in January 2025 and is virtually new. Built to Singer’s Classic Study formula, the “Black Watch Commission” was built to harken classic Porsches, something you can especially see in the decision to go with tartan seats versus the typical Singer Classic treatment of woven leather.

Other spec includes titanium exhaust, Öhlins suspension, carbon fiber roof, carbon ceramic roof and more. The car is built to UK specification, but with left-hand drive. The Porsche Oak Green Metallic paint pairs well with satin nickel finished Fuchs style wheels.

Since the car is so freshly completed (and apparently never delivered), the new owner will benefit from the typical 12-month warranty Singer offers.

While the Porsche 911 964 generation was definitely sold in the United States, the last of the primarily hand built and upright headlight air-cooled 911s has become a rare and valuable commodity thanks to the likes of Singer and RWB conversions. Given that, seeking out cars in Europe can not only net more selection, it can also pay a bonus with rare specifications most American buyers weren’t likely to order. We think this green-on-green 1991 911 Carrera 2 Targa qualifies.

This Belgian-delivered Targa is painted Oak Green Metallic, listed as a Paint to Sample by the dealer. While we know Oak Green was available during the 964 production run at times, we’re not certain about its availability for the Belgian market in 1991 specifically. Regardless, it’s a rare and attractive color on a 964, and that’s made even more appealing and rare with the unexpected interior specification.

Primarily, the interior specification is most unforgettable thanks to its extremely rare Sherwood Green Leather – optional in Europe, but a rare find to be sure. Other options for this car include English labeling, headlight washers, standard bolster electrically operated seats for both driver and passenger, cassette and coin holder, power antenna and speakers, no amplifier, no airbag, lighting regulation, split rear seat backrest, and velours carpet in trunk.

You’ll note the same green finish on elements such as the no-airbag steering wheel and shiftknob. Here, in these high touchpoint locations, the green is starting to wear off. These pieces are unobtainium and the car is likely worth more with them still unrestored and in the car, but they’re worth noting.

The price on this car isn’t especially low for a 964 Targa, but the mileage is also quite low and the specification is highly unique.

    Why We Love It:

Given the recent exchange rates, buying cars in Canada using the American dollar can be a great way to get a deal or reach beyond your budget for the right car. Also, given the typical willingness to travel an aficionado of tailored cars will be willing to travel for the right car, traveling to Canada for a special build and going through the importation process isn’t something to fret about much. Now, throw on the fact that Canada gets some options Americans don’t and that’s icing on the cake. It is with this in mind that we share with you this very low mileage RS 6 performance that’s popped up at a Chevy dealer in Alberta.

For starters, no matter what market this car is in, it’s an exceptionally tasteful specification. Audi exclusive paint, listed as Oak Green by the dealer, is a definite bonus. Worth noting, this isn’t Audi Oak Green Metallic but rather Porsche Oak Green Metallic (oakgrünmetallic; metallic uni; 265 / 22L / 60K; Porsche). In fact, it looks awfully close to a car we featured photos of a few months back HERE.

Beyond the paint, there’s a lot more to like about this car. This Albertan Ford dealer is exceptionally detailed in their listing, so here’s what we can share about the car. Based on the listing, it’s got: Audi Exclusive Oak Green Metallic Paint, Cognac w/ grey Stitching, Valcona Leather, Dynamic Package, Carbon Matte Optics Package, Matte Neodym 22 5 Y Spoke Wheels, Bang and Olufsen Advanced 3D Sound System, Leather Package, Black Dinamica Headliner, Night Vision Assistant.

Beyond that, they also list some aftermarket add-ons. These include: AWE Tuning SwitchPath Cat-back Exhaust, CETE Lowering Module, H&R 10mm/12mm Wheels Spacers, Full Body PPF by Posh Detailing, Window Tint 35% and 70% by Posh Detailing, Exoshield Front Windshield by Posh Detailing, Kamiglaze Ceramic Coating by Posh Detailing. We also see Audi Accessories roof bars and rubber mats in the photos.

So let’s get back to the Canadian spec of this car. First, it’s got the aforementioned Neobdym wheel finish, which is a slightly gold/platinum color. While offered as a stand alone option in Europe and likely in Canada too, Audi of America blocked this wheel finish after fitting them exclusively on the RS 6 performance Bronze Edition and RS 7 performance Bronze Edition. Unless you got one of those cars or imported the wheels yourself, Americans can’t get them. In our eyes, that makes this car even more desirable.

Now let’s get back to price. In more recent months, the Canadian dollar has fallen in value compared to the U.S. dollar. Other than a drop recently to about .60 cents on the U.S. dollar, it’s been tracking mainly at .70 cents to the U.S. dollar. Apply that conversion to this car’s listed price and you get an exceptionally good deal for any RS 6 performance, let alone one Audi exclusive paint, very low mileage, American unobtainium wheels, and a host of other useful equipment including PPF and ceramic coating.

Are there any caveats? Based on what we know, and we defer to experts on this, the car is certified for the North American market, so the warranty should transfer to the U.S. based on a chat with contacts who are more familiar with the process than us. There may be a process, and we’re not familiar with it so we’d suggest figuring that part out before buying if having a warranty in place is important to you. Also, even though it’s certified for North America, there is a basic importation process from Canada to the U.S.A. that may have associated costs. There’s also basic duties to consider and, beyond that, the tariff landscape that could change things depending out American politics play out. You’ll want to dig more into all of these if you’re considering this car and you’re American. Clearly, if you’re Canadian, then have at it as we assume that’s not much harder than finding the money.

Honestly, we debated not even sharing this one so we might inquire about buying it ourselves. Check it out via the link above.

Market Find: 2022 Audi exclusive Oak Green Metallic SQ7

    What: 2022 Audi SQ7

    Mileage: 47,295 miles
    Price: $79,800

    Location: Audi of Richfield, MN
    Dealer listing: Link

    Why we love it:

At first, our minds played tricks on us. Audi of Richfield, Minnesota bills this Tailored Driver as “District Green Metallic”, and we’ll admit it had us briefly fooled. District is much darker, but in some lights it can pop so we assumed this was more a case of poor lighting and editing as opposed to mistaken identity. It made quite a bit of sense then, when friend of the site Topher actually confirmed this SQ7 as Oak Green. Oak is a longtime favorite and a frequent flyer around here, so we’ll let the images speak for themselves rather than to wax poetic.

Market Find: 1978 RUF BTR in Oak Green Metallic

    VIN: 9308700670
    Mileage: 7,021
Price at Time of this Writing: $395,000
    CarFax: N/A
    Window Sticker: N/A
    Location: USA
    Dealer listing: Link

    Why we love it:

With 2024 being the anniversary of the 911 Turbo, the amount of forced induction elfers coming onto the market this year has been astounding. Now throw in Oak Green Metallic paint, the same color Dr. Ferry Porsche painted his personal 911 Turbo, and you already have a winner before we get to the fact that this is an early Turbo built by then fledgling RUF Automobile of Pfaffenhausen, Germany.

The Oak Green car you see here is a U.S. market 930 built to “Group B Turbo RUF” (BTR) specification. Equipment included this car included displacement punched out from 3.3-liters to 3.4-liters with twin-plug heads, a larger RUF intercooler, and a four-outlet exhaust system. Period RUF documentation estimates power from this and other modifications at 374-horsepower and 480 NM of torque.

Other modifications included RUF’s own 5-speed transmission (something Porsche wouldn’t give the 911 Turbo until 1989), Porsche 935-style Bilstein coilover suspension, 917-derived brakes, and 17-inch 5-spoke RUF wheels made by Speedline and similar to those also fitted on the famous Yellowbird.

The car has a great look, though is in original condition so features some wear as can be seen in these photos and even more, also explained in greater detail, via the link HERE.

  • Color Check: Audi exclusive RS 6 performance in Oak Green Metallic

Color Check: Audi exclusive RS 6 performance in Oak Green Metallic

There’s just something about a green long roof. Maybe it wasChevy Chase taking the Holiday Road to Wally World, or the fact that even his Wagon Queen Family Truckster still made him hot to Christie Brinkley at the wheel of a Ferrari, it seems like a certain segment of the car enthusiast population has chased the idea of a station wagon (often green) that could be that cool in reality. That’s exactly where performance wagons like the Audi RS 6 enter the fantasy, especially specially painted examples in green.

We caught this particular RS 6 Avant over on the Only Wagons Group on Facebook. Posted by Darin Scherba, the car is in RS 6 performance specification, meaning later lifecycle production with a slight power boost and optional Y-spoke alloys that complement the car in any finish. In this case, that finish is grey matte, though the European market or special edition neodym gold would have also paired amazingly here.

Whichever wheel finish, they complete this RS 6 Avant perfect spec that, at it’s heart, uses Porsche’s Oak Green Metallic (oakgrünmetallic; metallic uni; 265 / 22L / 60K; Porsche) over standard RS 6 Cognac leather. The net look is incredibly tasteful, not the first RS 6 Avant we’ve seen in this specification, but the first RS 6 performance and captured in some great photography.

  • Color Check: SQ7 in Oak Green Pearl Effect from Audi South Africa

Color Check: SQ7 in Oak Green Pearl Effect from Audi South Africa

At least in paint naming convention, the term “Oak Green” can be a bit confusing because multiple manufacturers have coined the term. Porsche has an Oak Green Metallic and its more recent updating called Oak Green Neo. It’s a great color that other manufacturers such as Audi exclusive will be happy to paint for you. So, that Audi has its own Oak Green, specifically Oak Green Pearl (oakgrünperleffekt; metallic uni; Q82; Audi), can make it more confusing.

We’re doing our best to be specific and keep track of it all. So, when we caught this post of an SQ7 by Audi South Africa on Facebook, we inquired. The SQ7 in this photo almost looked like the much-more-common District Green currently offered on many Audi models as a standard color. However, it was a bit dark, making it quite close to Audi exclusive Oak Green Pearl specimens we’ve seen in person, so we reached out to Audi South Africa and they were able to confirm that it is Oak Green Pearl.

Check out more photos below, and click the embedded Facebook post above in order to give Audi South Africa a follow.
