Celebrating the start of the 2025 DTM season, Dörr Motorsport has worked with McLaren Special Operations to create a limited edition 750S Dörr Motorsport DTM Collector’s Edition. The car celebrates the association between Dörr and their McLaren based campaign in the legendary German racing series.
Painted Anniversary Orange (anniversaryorange; non-metallic UNI; 39538; McLaren), the car also features chrome logos, DTM branding and blue accents in team colors. Inside, the model boasts racing harnesses, a roll cage and details harkening the Dörr association including embroidered starting numbers on the seats.
Only six cars will be built – three coupes and three spiders. Unfortunately, this is a European market only affair. Still, if you’re curious, perhaps Dörr and McLaren Special Operations can help you spec something similar.

When you venture into the world of old and miled-up cars, finding anything tailored is a bit of a discovery. In this world of sub-$10K cars, what you find tends to be worn and thus not always the most pristine. Even still, a tailored find is a tailored find and would make a great first car for someone seeking something unique.
Rather unsurprisingly, the used car lot in Minnesota that lists this car does not list the color. We ran a quick internal check and are not finding a known color code, the contents of that field on this car (99) likely not any color at all. So, we didn’t list a color above. Even still, we think we know what it is.
In period, Audi was known to produce S and RS cars in an orange known both as Solar Orange or Glut Orange. They’re the same color code (LY2G / 3F). We’re 99% sure that’s this color, but haven’t been able to confirm it outright.
As for the rest of this 179K mile Q5, that orange paint is most interestingly paired with brown leather. The car shows some wear on those seats, and it appears to have some light paint damage on the rear bumper. Honestly though, an in person inspection and and pre-purchase inspection (PPI) would be the best move on any car this age.
We’ve got one last car from German Audi dealer Scherer Sport to highlight their mix of RS 6 performance wealth… at least until they share a few more. For this particular RS 6 performance, the specification turns to a color introduced with the market arrival of the pre-facelift Audi Q8 range.
That color is Dragon Orange Metallic (drachenorange; metallic Uni; LY2Y / Y4; Audi). This was a stock color on the Q8 range, meaning that even though it had a relatively low take rate it still can be found with some regularity on Q8, SQ8 and RS Q8 specimens.
However, it’s rare as an Audi exclusive decision so finding it on an RS 6 is a fresh take on a familiar hue. It’s also not Samoa Orange, Ipanema Brown or Solar/Glut Orange, more typical amber hues from Audi exclusive. By our measure, that makes this RS 6 performance decidedly unique.

Eighteen McLaren customers will have the opportunity to be a part of the brand’s commemorations of winning the 2024 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship, following confirmation that a very limited production run of MCL38 Celebration Edition supercars are to be built. Just nine Celebration Edition Arturas and the same number of 750S will be offered for sale, the number of each chosen to mark McLaren’s ninth Constructors’ Championship victory.
McLaren won the 2024 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship at the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, having led the standings since the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September. Drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri accrued a combined eight pole positions and six Grand Prix victories with the McLaren MCL38 on their way to the team’s first such success since 1998.
The ultra-exclusive Celebration Edition cars are named in honour of the MCL38 2024 World Constructors’ Championship-winning Formula 1 car. Both models feature a bespoke livery curated by McLaren Special Operations, reflecting the Papaya Orange and Anthracite colourways that distinguish McLaren within the motorsport world and incorporating the chevron colour transition that has become synonymous with the brand. A Champions’ Laurel and ‘Nine-Star’ logo are proudly displayed, alongside additional orange accents including a bonnet stripe that features a Champions’ Laurel and brake calipers.

The interior of the MCL38 Celebration Edition is equally striking, with the Visual Carbon Fibre Extended Sill Cover on the driver’s side personally signed by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri and Champions’ Laurel on the seat headrest section. Each example of the nine Artura and nine 750S MCL38 Celebration Edition carries a bespoke and rare souvenir – an MCL38 dedication plaque incorporating a genuine section of carbon fibre bodywork from an MCL38 Formula 1 car. An additional bespoke track record plaque, located in the bonnet storage area, lists the pole positions, race wins and fastest laps recorded by the MCL38 Formula 1 car during the victorious 2024 season.

Like the MCL38 Formula 1 car, both the Artura and 750S have been decorated with awards in 2024* and owners of the Celebration Editions will be able to experience the astonishing performance of a McLaren supercar, whether it is the Artura’s 3-litre V6 hybrid powertrain or the 750S’s 4-litre twin-turbocharged V8. Built via Ferrari’s Atelier program, the SF90 Spider you see here boasts no less than $260,000 of additional options and customization over your average SF90 Spider. This includes striking Atomic Orange 2-layer paint paired with Arancio Mikonos interior. It’s also got the Assetto-Fiorano package and Assetto-Fiorano-Extended package, plus additional carbon fiber everywhere.
All told, the customization budget on this SF90 Spider is greater than the cost of buying a new Roma and the dealership theorizes that this could make it one of the most expensive SF90 Spiders ever ordered… from a production run that is already sold out.
One wonders how you order a car this special and then only log less than 300 miles on it, but that’s a conversation for another day. One of the more rare Volkswagen Spektrum hues, paired with an old-school 6-speed manual transmission, this Golf R is an exceptionally engaging Tailored Driver at a fairly safe price point. So far as we can find, just three of these were ordered in the US (another 40 in Canada), so it’s also safe to assume you’ll be the only one at even the most hard core of Volkswagen enthusiast events.

Here’s an interesting turn of events. We’re always interested in dealerships apparently selling a new tailored build apparently without any dealer markup as this appears to be. We’re even more fans of salespeople inside the store who are motivated to snap initial photography and get the word out to enthusiasts online. Such is the case with this 2025 RS 6 performance in Audi exclusive Ipanema Brown over Cognac Brown Leather.
Though the link isn’t embeddable, Trevor Fehr from Audi Naples posted the car and basic details over on the Audi Club North America Classifieds Facebook Group HERE. Gold star to Trevor, who also named the color and the specs and options (Matte Carbon Package, Bang & Olufsen Advanced sound, Executive Package, Black Dinamica Headliner, Driver Assistance Package, RS Sport Exhaust), sharing photos and even a grab of the window sticker that proved essential to our finding the car for sale online at his dealership.
Why was that essential? Well, over at the dealership’s site, photos aren’t up yet and it’s mislabeled in the description as Goodwood Green, which is a great Audi color but clearly not the same as Ipanema Brown and also quite a bit more common in Audi exclusive parlance.
What’s so special about Ipanema Brown. It’s always been a very exclusive color at Audi, used over the years for auto show cars in exotic world gatherings like the Geneva and Paris motor shows. @Auditography once shot video of one, getting reposted on Motor1 under the headline “Audi RS 6 Avant with Ipanema Brown Paint is Peak Wagon”. We’d tend to agree.
Back to this particular car, Trevor Fehr from Audi Naples shared in that post to the Audi Club Classified Facebook Page that the car is in inventory and won’t last long. Being so unique and not laden with annoying markup, we’d tend to agree with that assessment. If you are interested. How quickly we find our way back to Orange. Audi exclusive Solar Orange was chosen for this RS 5, with the added bonus of Audi exclusive deviated stitching in a matching Signal Orange found in the interior. In no doubt aided by the bold choice in color, this mega-sticker Tailored Driver is currently on offer at a Stellantis dealer for the seemingly low asking price of $45,991. If we had to guess, we’d say that’s likely half off its original asking price.

Why we love it:
While Gulf Blue seems to get a ton of play due to its deep roots in Porsche’s racing history, Paint to Sample Gulf Orange, shown here on a 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4, isn’t so common. On the surface, it makes sense- the subtlety of Gulf Blue is not found here. But is a GT variant Porsche about blending in? In the eyes of Tailored Driver, not for a moment.
