It was just last month that Singer pulled the wraps off of its latest Carrera specification, a stunning tribute to the G-body era of the 80s. Now, they’re sharing one of the first builds to this spec. We’re here for it, and we think you will be too.
The car you see here is finished in a military-looking green known as Sempreverde, Italian for “evergreen”. The exact source of the color wasn’t shared, but it’s a handsome darker green that plays to its namesake.
This Carrera also features the unique high performance auxiliary driving lights that pop out of the boot lid much like the headlights on a 928. It’s also got a speed activated rear spoiler, typical of a the 964-based Singers not fitted with whale tails of some sort.
The interior is flat white, featuring carbon fiber seats and raised gear shifter for the ultimate in cool.
Power comes from a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat six. It’s been restored and developed by Singer with engineering work from Cosworth. It features four valves per cylinder, variable valve timing, water-cooled cylinder heads, air-cooled cylinders and an electrically powered fan.

We’re always down for the latest Singer commission around these parts, and the car you see here certainly qualifies. Built to the firm’s Classic Turbo specification, this Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer stylistically builds on the classic G-body 80s 911 yet takes it to a whole other level of cool.
The paint color, a light blue not altogether far from Gulf Blue, is known as Azzurro La Plata. It features ghosted stripes to add to the sporting appeal. Several photos of the car were posted to their Facebook Page.
Inside, the cockpit is primarily onyx leather with Alcantara and houndstooth fabric on select surfaces including lightweight, carbon fiber track seats. Light blue accents continue on the inside, including powder blue seatbelts, lower cabin surfaces and portions of the instrumentation.
In the rear, a harness bar and cross brace includes Singer badge in brass.
It being a Singer, the car is based on a 964 even though it stylistically now resembles a G-body much more closely. It’s powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged intercooled flat six.

The Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer you see here was completed just a few months ago in January 2025 and is virtually new. Built to Singer’s Classic Study formula, the “Black Watch Commission” was built to harken classic Porsches, something you can especially see in the decision to go with tartan seats versus the typical Singer Classic treatment of woven leather.
Other spec includes titanium exhaust, Öhlins suspension, carbon fiber roof, carbon ceramic roof and more. The car is built to UK specification, but with left-hand drive. The Porsche Oak Green Metallic paint pairs well with satin nickel finished Fuchs style wheels.
Since the car is so freshly completed (and apparently never delivered), the new owner will benefit from the typical 12-month warranty Singer offers.

LOS ANGELES – The Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer represents the latest services from Singer, the California-based luxury specialist that restores and reimagines classic Porsche 911s in collaboration with their owners.

The restoration process The process begins when the owner of a Porsche 911 (Type 964) sends their car to Singer with the request to carry out a personalized restoration. Originally manufactured by Porsche more than thirty years ago, these sports cars have been on the road ever since, covering thousands of miles in the hands of many drivers.
The first step of the restoration involves the owner’s car being carefully disassembled. The interior is removed, as is the exterior bodywork and all mechanical components, until the steel monocoque (chassis) is revealed. The chassis is painstakingly assessed, cleaned, and prepared so that it is in optimal condition for the next stages of restoration. During this phase, chassis strengthening, developed in consultation with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, is applied to enhance the rigidity of the original Type 964 monocoque.
Engine and transmission The engine in a 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer draws on long experience with the 911 and learnings from the DLS program, where the company’s first four-valve cylinder head was born. This expertise allows Singer to continue exploring the performance potential of the Type 964’s iconic flat-six, on behalf of its clients, through a continuous process of careful optimization and the development of a revised four-valve cylinder head. Singer have jointly developed the execution of this engine with Cosworth, who have deployed their unparalleled experience, specifically in the areas of variable valve timing, combustion chamber design and intake and exhaust path.
The engine represents multiple firsts. It is the first engine restored for a Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer to feature variable valve timing, optimizing drivability at low speeds, and power at high revs. It is also the first naturally aspirated engine restored by Singer to use water-cooled cylinder heads combined with air-cooled cylinders, utilizing learnings from the DLS Turbo program.
Together, these features help the 4.0L flat-six to develop 420HP and broaden the torque delivery across a wider range of engine speeds, while enabling owners in a growing range of countries to restore their cars through Singer’s services.
The engine will rev to over 8000 rpm and, to encourage drivers to explore that range, an optimized, six-speed, manual gearbox can be specified, sending power to the rear wheels. A raised gear shifter may be specified with an exposed shift mechanism, underlining the engineering craftsmanship. A newly developed titanium exhaust system provides free breathing for the flat-six and its famous soundtrack.
Says Dickinson: “Porsche offered the option of a wide-bodied, naturally aspirated G model 911 Carrera for drivers in the 1980s. The Super Sport Equipment package was intended for what Porsche described as ‘the connoisseur of high performance’, incorporating uprated brakes and suspension along with its purposeful appearance. Chassis On behalf of owners, Singer joined forces with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the high-performance engineering arm of Red Bull Technology Group, to increase the strength and torsional rigidity of the original 964 chassis through the restoration process.
Red Bull Advanced Technologies assessed the 964 chassis using their world-class capabilities in simulation and structural analysis. Their work led to the development of a chassis strengthening system, using composite and steel reinforcement, applied to the 964 monocoque at the beginning of the restoration process.
The original Type 964 monocoque remains at the heart of the car, augmented with this strengthening to provide an optimized foundation for each subsequent stage of the restoration, with increased rigidity benefitting handling, braking and overall refinement.
Heritage and cutting edge Singer’s experience with carbon fibre enables careful balancing of iconic DNA with cutting-edge engineering and material science. While inspired by the G model cars of the 1980s, the bodywork is reimagined for aesthetic and functional performance. The use of carbon fibre allows reduced mass and enhanced stiffness, further sharpening dynamic responses in the manner that Singer’s clients have come to expect.
Inspired by the Super Sport Equipment available in period, the carbon fiber body accommodates wide front and rear bodywork. A deep front spoiler optimizes cooling and airflow at the front of the car, while intakes in the leading edges of the rear fenders direct cooling air to the engine compartment.
The 911 Carrera could be specified in period with or without the famous whale tail rear wing, and Singer’s restoration services allow today’s drivers the same choice. A fixed wing or speed-activated wing manage airflow over the rear of the car for stability at speed. High-performance auxiliary driving lights may also be specified, rising from the front hood when activated and folding down flush when not in use.
Ground control In common with the 911 Carrera cars in period, the dynamic performance of the engine is enhanced with a sophisticated approach to suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres, enabling drivers to cover ground rapidly, where the conditions allow.
Suspension developed for Singer’s turbocharged services provides the foundation for compliant, sporting handling. New, four-way adjustable dampers with electronic damping control can be adjusted from the driver’s seat and incorporate a nose lift system. Carbon ceramic brakes developed through the DLS services may be specified, sitting behind 18” centre-lock wheels, providing deep reserves of stopping power.
Tyre technology has developed dramatically since the end of the twentieth century and the use of the latest Michelin Pilot Sport tyres allows the restored car to transmit its power effectively to the road. The driver may select from five drive modes (Road, Sport, Track, Off and Weather) to adjust the levels of intervention from the traction control and electronic stability control, depending on the road conditions and their own capabilities.
Driver-focused interior Singer’s restoration and modification services enable owners to personalize the interior presentation of their car according to their personal preferences, through bespoke paint, leather, and material finishes. Lightweight sports or track seats may be requested, providing the perfect driving position in combination with the raised gear shifter mechanism.
In front of the driver, the familiar 911 instrument layout is reimagined, with hand-built gauges bringing high-watchmaking standards into the cabin. Singer’s mastery of traditional leatherworking techniques allows owners to request stitched and burnished leather seams throughout the cabin for the first time. Technology is incorporated with restraint, allowing for discrete navigation and phone connectivity.

ROSAMOND, CA – The future is bright for America’s oldest permanent road course. Willow Springs International Raceway, which was listed for sale last summer by long-time owners the Huth family, has been purchased by an affiliate of CrossHarbor Capital Partners in collaboration with Singer Vehicle Design.
CrossHarbor, an alternative investment management firm with an extensive portfolio of commercial real estate and resort residential development, recently closed escrow on the property. The purchase ensures a successful road ahead for the Kern County raceway, as CrossHarbor and its partners focus on preserving the facility’s rich history while making significant investments to establish it as the premier venue for automotive enthusiasts.

Another Singer DLS has hit the market, this time in a sealed bid sale with RM Sotheby’s. Built as a left hand drive yet UK registered. So, while it’s based in the UK, its age and configuration make it fairly easy to certify and register in other markets like the U.S.A.
“The Oppenheimer Commission” was named for the Oppenheimer Blue diamond and not for the nuclear physicist. Said diamond is a 14.62-carat rock that is the largest fancy vivid blue diamond classified by the Geological Institute of America ever sold at auction.
While light weighting and performance was the main mission of the DLS, opulence befitting a gargantuan blue diamond also sort of fits cars costing more than seven figures to build. And, opulent Oppenheimer is, utilizing Mercedes-Benz Brilliant Blue Metallic contrasted with a generous amount of clear carbon fiber coated with navy tint gloss lacquer around the exterior and also throughout the cabin. This is particularly elegant in the blue lettering and striping on the car, subtly contrasting in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it sort of way with the Brilliant Blue paint.
Oppenheimer also sports several one-off features Singer hadn’t tried before constructing it. For instance, the underbody of the car was fitted with underbody protection film. The smoked DLS-specification taillights aren’t one-ff, but they are seldomly seen and reportedly an $18,000 option.
Inside, the primary leather color is Cream, contrasted with Navy Blue Alcantara that is color-matched to the blue carbon fiber throughout. The car’s carbon bucket seats also get offset navy blue stripes in leather, while the shift knob is maple.
Singer only built 70 examples of the DLS. Now combine this one owner car’s odometer showing not much more than delivery miles and the opportunity should be obvious. Granted, that the price will be high should also be obvious. Even still, if you want to skip the line then Oppenheimer may be worth watching.

Why We Love It:
The DLS formula for Singer reimaginings is a remarkable thing. Launched in 2018, it created perhaps the ultimate specification for a classic 911, complete with all-carbon bodywork and 500 horsepower 4.0-liter flat six developed by Williams Advanced Engineering. The car was both incredibly expensive and very sought-after, making for years of waiting to get one or prices in the millions if you can find one (see above).

Porsche reimagineer Singer Vehicle Design regularly shares its creations on social media and has lately been highlighting a car known as the Düsseldorf Commission built to their Classic Services specification that is effectively the original Singer formula that is a love letter to the early F-body 911 era.
On the outside, the car has been finished in paint-to-sample Düsseldorf Black, with light ghosted Porsche script stripes, a center-mounted fuel filler with side-mounted oil filler.
At the heart of Düsseldorf is the expected 4.0-liter air-cooled flat six complete with 24-karat gold badging. It drives power to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. For improved stopping power, carbon ceramic brakes were also installed.
Inside, the car gets lightweight carbon fiber track seats covered in Osprey leather with woven leather seat centers featuring a black stripe and nickel grommets. The woven leather continues on the door cards and dash strip where you’ll also note brass badging. The lower interior section is also trimmed in leather and the rear compartment has been fitted with a racing harness bar.

A dark green Classic Services restoration from Singer Vehicle Design is always a winner in our book, so the 911 you see here that’s part of Barrett Jackson’s upcoming Scottsdale 2025 auction is definitely worth a closer look and a healthy amount of lust.
We have a couple of questions about this Singer that we’d want to know and don’t seem to see in the listing. For starters, the listing isn’t specific whether it’s a Carrera 2 or all-wheel drive Carrera 4, but we’re deducing it’s the latter? Why, though both versions were sold in the European market, America only got the Carrera 4 in 1989. And while importing Euro market C2s are an “affordable” way into the rear-wheel drive 964 club, we think this is a U.S. car given the Barrett Jackson listing description does mention some damage activity in the CarFax report from 2014, nine years before the 2023 Singer reimagining took place. Even if it was a Carrera 4 from the factory, we suppose it could also have been converted to rear-wheel drive. Ultimately, that’s worth checking.
Another question we have is the name of the Commission. It seems like each Singer tends to take an identity of its own thanks to a mix of Commission nomenclature or simple nicknames. We’re seeing none in this listing, and for the new owner or the curiosity of Singer aficionados, this would be good to know.
The color is listed as Green Blood Dark, which isn’t a color we’re familiar with. In photos, it looks darker than a Porsche Irish Green yet lighter than Porsche Brewster Green. Frankly, it doesn’t appear far from Audi Goodwood Green, but ultimately that’s hard to tell from simply seeing photos.

This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Reimagined by Singer is powered by a 4.0-liter engine built by Ed Pink and features high-flow catalytic converters. The engine is tuned by an Emtron ECU and features a ceramic inlet plenum to optimize airflow. The exhaust system includes a titanium muffler for weight reduction. This car’s drivetrain includes a 6-speed manual transmission. The body is equipped with a carbon-fiber roof for reduced weight. It has an external center-fill fuel system with a safety cell, and an external oil fill system. The suspension is an Öhlins Sport adjustable system, configured for canyon road use with 2-way adjustability. The braking system includes Brembo calipers with carbon-ceramic rotors. Michelin PS4S tires are mounted. Externally, this Porsche is finished in a custom Green Blood Dark paint with full clear paint protection film, and it also features nickel-plated bumperettes, raised decklid lettering and Singer script badging, all finished in 24-karat gold. The wheels are RS style, with nickel centers and black backgrounds, mounted with open lug nuts. The interior is trimmed with premium leather, including baseball glove-style Connolly Monza leather. The front seats are carbon bucket seats designed for reduced weight and improved support.
The cabin features black leather for the dash, roll tops, knee pads and pillars, with deviating color stitching. The steering wheel is a Prototipo with a bespoke finish, wrapped in black leather. A Piano Black shift knob is installed, and the carpeted floor mats are trimmed with square-weave in the body color. The gauge cluster is styled after early 911 models, with black faces, green markers and nickel trim. This car is also equipped with a PCRN stereo system with Apple CarPlay, as well as air conditioning. Additionally, the car includes a CTEK external battery charging solution under the front bumper and keyless entry with two custom Singer key fobs finished in Piano Black anodize. You don’t see a lot of Targas in the 911 world, and that goes for 911s reimagined by Singer as well. Yes, they do happen and make a compelling case for open-top motoring without the chassis flex of a full-blown roadster. When they’ve been reimagined as a fully-blown Singer Commission, that case becomes even more compelling.
If chassis flex is a concern, it’s also worth sharing that before reimagining a Targa shell, the team at Singer seam weld the chassis for added rigidity.
This car, known simply as “Blueberry”, is painted a color known as Blue Blood, with Deep Orange on the brake rotors, Carrera stripes and other accent details. Inside, the cockpit was specified with Orange and Dark Navy leather with carbon bucket seats and custom details throughout the interior. Its 4.0-liter flat six was specced with RS+ cams and titanium exhaust, the suspension from Öhlins and the brakes from Brembo.
