    Why we love it:

If you’re fans of Spike’s Car Radio (Links: Apple, YouTube) as we are, then you probably know that “Plan Z” is vernacular for a car owned by multiple people (typically friends who trust each other not to leave groceries in the frunk). You probably also know that show hosts Spike Feresten and Paul Zuckerman are frequent Plan Z partners.

More recently, the two have hooked up with Porsche Clearwater and have been rotating the latest Zuffenhausen it-cars through their storage hangars at the Santa Monica airport. It seems like a winning combination, because Spike and Zuckerman regularly have access to Porsche’s latest and greatest, while their ability to concoct a pretty fantastic specification means Porsche Clearwater has a regular supply of most excellent builds with an entertaining provenance.

The latest in that line is this 2024 Porsche 911 GT 3 RS with Sonderwunsch touches, traded because their 911 S/T is inbound. Their movement on to the next one is someone else’s gain though, because this car is a choice build that they’ve spoken about regularly on the show.

There’s a lot to review and love when you check out the details of this car via the link above, but we’ve got our favorite details we’ll call out. For starters, they patterned the first 992 GT3 RS a.k.a. “Wingman” display car Porsche revealed at Monterey Car Week 2022. However, they swapped the white/green combo of Wingman for another blue for an iconic 911 Carrera RS 2.7 color scheme. They went for the bold strategy of comfort seats over shell seats, and notably went for the Weissach package, however painted the standard White paint over the carbon on the roof and hood for more of an understated look. That last move was done, according to Spike via the podcast, at the direct suggestion of Porsche’s GT Line Director Andreas Preuninger, which makes it all that much cooler.

Special thanks to Larry Wood of Porsche Clearwater for providing photos and details on the car. If you’re interested, contact him directly via the contact information next to the listing link listed above. Thanks for the tip Nish Pillai.

    Why we love it:

If much of the current Porsche market is the safe alternative short-term investment as it may seem, this Paint to Sample Fjord Green 911 Carrera GTS might be considered speculative at best. Allow us to explain- a claimed $136,000 in options were applied to this GTS, just $8,000 shy of matching of the car’s $144,000 base price, and then it simply was not driven. Two years and 922 miles later, this GTS is now for sale with a price that’s only polite to share when directly asked for, although we’d bet it’s near the $257,699 it fetched on Bring a Trailer back in August. So what does $136,000 of options get you? Well, apart from nearly all the menu items, you get the very rare Fjord Green paint, CXX-granted door cards with Agave Green uppers stitched in Mojave Beige and lowers in Cognac Leather, as well as Cognac leather on the seats, shift boot, storage bin, knee pads, and lower center console. Oh, and the Agave/Cognac theme is applied to the air vents as well.

The New York-based fashion and lifestyle brand Aimé Leon Dore (ALD) unveils the bespoke Porsche 993 Turbo – the fifth classic model restored in its long-standing partnership with Porsche.

    [source: Porsche AG]

Renowned for its unparalleled engineering and timeless design, the Porsche 993 Turbo is hailed as one of the greatest sports cars in history. It combines the final iteration of the air-cooled engines with a powerful twin-turbo powertrain that set a new standard for performance, handling, and durability. Aimé Leon Dore’s restoration goes beyond aesthetics, delivering both a visual and technical revival of the celebrated classic.

During an intensive development process, for a sportier look, elements from the 993 Turbo S were incorporated, including the iconic Turbo S spoiler, which provides both a visual enhancement and increased downforce. Additionally, the 993 Turbo S Exhaust and Front Splitter were fitted to improve aerodynamics, elevating the car’s performance and aggressive front-end design.

The 18-inch Porsche Turbo Twist rims were finished in Mulberry Green to match the exterior, highlighted with a gold accent encircling the rims. Michelin, Porsche’s trusted tire partner known for outfitting the seven-time title-winning Porsche 963, provided 18″ Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires specifically for the 993 Turbo.

It’s great to see the latest installment of our partnership with Aimé Leon Dore”, says Deniz Keskin, Director Brand Management and Partnerships at Porsche AG. “The 993 is an iconic member of the 911 family and dream car for so many enthusiasts all around the world. ALD’s take is a wonderful way of contributing to that enduring legacy.”

Aimé Leon Dore’s refined design language extends to the interior, featuring dark brown leather, lambswool accents, and hardback seats. The seat backrests are painted in Mulberry Green, echoing the car’s exterior. Dark brown carpets, floor mats, seats, and instrument cluster were selected for a cohesive, monochromatic look. The steering wheel and headrests display a custom Aimé Leon Dore and Porsche logo, highlighting the long-standing partnership between the two brands. A custom brass Unisphere gear knob brings a distinctive and personal touch to the interior. The door sills also feature the inscription “A team from outta Queens with the American dream,” a nod to the brand’s roots and the inspiration behind Aimé Leon Dore’s brand.

Exclusive capsule collection with Porsche Design

Inspired by the exclusive Mulberry Green Porsche 993 Turbo, the capsule collection features a range of apparel and accessories, including the long-awaited Leather Club Jacket.

“It has been a refreshing experience to work on this capsule with the ALD team”, says Nicola Ader, Director Marketing & PR Porsche Lifestyle Group. “The result is the perfect match for the car and a great way for both communities around the world to become part of this project.”

The capsule collection will be available on November 22nd both in-store and online at Aimé Leon Dore.

For the first time, Porsche Design of America will also offer a select range from the limited-edition capsule, available exclusively on the West Coast at the Porsche Design Store in Beverly Hills.

  • Porsche Singapore x Sonderwunsch Pay Tribute to Mille Miglia with GT3 Touring

Porsche Singapore x Sonderwunsch Pay Tribute to Mille Miglia with GT3 Touring

A trend with some roots in history from Porsche’s Sonderwunsch department we’re really coming to appreciate is the paying of tribute to moments in Porsche Motorsport history. Porsche Singapore has gotten in on the action, with this special 911 GT3 Touring built to celebrate the brand’s participation in the legendary Mille Miglia.

    Porsche Singapore shared on Facebook:

“A thousand miles, laser focus, foot to the floor: this was the formula to win at the legendary Mille Miglia road race that ran in Italy from the 1920s to the 1960s. Fun fact: cars were numbered according to their start times in the rally – so a 7:22 AM start meant one’s car would be numbered ‘722’!

This 9/11, we celebrate the romance of road racing with a special livery paying tribute the legendary Mille Miglia road race, on our ultimate road racer: the 911 GT3 with Touring Package.

Check out this specially-decorated car at Porsche Studio Singapore, on display until 22 November.

We reached out to Porsche Singapore to learn a bit more about the car. Namely, we can confirm the light blue paint is Gulf Blue (gulfblau; non-metallic / non-metallic UNI; 328; Porsche), and we admit we wouldn’t have guessed that straight away. Typically paired with Gulf Orange and perhaps dark blue as part of a Gulf Oil livery, the Gulf Blue here almost takes on a more green hue when paired with the Italian TriColore red, white and green.

  • Market Find: 2024 Porsche Paint to Sample Creme White 911 GT3 RS

Market Find: 2024 Porsche Paint to Sample Creme White 911 GT3 RS

Beige the world. There is an interesting theory that as the world’s economy goes up and down, consumers will change their color preference to either be more flashy (things are great!) or more subtle (things aren’t great!) when it comes to their new car. The post-COVID economy is proving complex as it is either great or awful depending on your perspective, and our color choices are reflective of that. Such is the case with this Tailored Driver.

Finished in Creme White (cremeweiß, code: 51A) you’d be correct to categorize this 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (VIN: WP0AF2A91RS272490) as being on the more tame side of the spectrum, especially with so many others on the secondary market in much brighter, bolder colors. Chalk it up to one person’s understanding of the current economic climate, this 3RS could very easily be seen as the bearish RS.

Moving past the Paint to Sample finish, this Tailored Driver is downright tame on the inside as well, with a mix of Black Leather upholstery and Race-Tex fabric covering nearly all surfaces. Of note, the CarFax does mention this car was an export from Canada, which may complicate things for a prospective buyer.

Sadly though, this could also be categorized as the introvert’s RS based on mileage- just 447 since new. In other words, it’s not had its engine break-in procedure completed. Be the one to right this wrong, by calling Kearns Motor Car in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin and writing a $434,989 check.

Get all the details on this Tailored Driver, here.

  • FIA WEC Champ Andre Lotterer Takes Delivery of Green over Green 911 S/T

FIA WEC Champ Andre Lotterer Takes Delivery of Green over Green 911 S/T

Andre Lotterer is having a pretty great month. A little over a week ago, the German racecar driver and the two teammates he shares a Porsche 963 Hypercar with nailed down the 2025 FIA WEC driver’s championship. Less than a week later, he’s posting first photos of his new 2025 Porsche 911 S/T. Not surprisingly, it’s an excellent specification.

Racing fans are likely already familiar with Lotterer. He began his sportscar career at Audi Sport before migrating to Porsche for Formula E and later the 963 Hypercar program. And though he’s relinquishing his 963 seat at the end of the season, he remains one of the top sportscar drivers in the world.

Lotterer also has exceptional automotive taste. He’s a longtime collector, often choosing cars built by the manufacturers he races. This has included an Audi Sport quattro, two 911 Carrera 2.7 RS, a Carrera GT (that he drove to the dealer for delivery of his S/T), and also an uber rare 964 3.8 RS. He’s got more, but those are the ones worth highlighting for this story.

Beyond the car habit, he also enjoys photography. As a result, his Instagram account is a worthy follow and his cars (including the new S/T) are regularly seen, often photographed in his home town of Monaco.

Lotterer shared details of his special build when he posted these photos to Instagram. He shares that it’s Paint to Sample Malachite Green (malachitgrünmetallic; metallic UNI; 2B5; Porsche) paired with custom green interior specified via Sonderwunsch. From the photos, it also looks like it’s got his name on the sills, making it extra cool given its timing of arrival along with his championship title.

Market Find: 2024 Porsche 911 ‘Turbo Remastered’ by Sonderwunsch to be Auctioned

If you’re a super aficionado of Porsche Sonderwunsch and seeking something highly unique, we think this 2024 Porsche 911 Turbo out of Dubai and going up for auction by RM Sotheby’s should definitely grab your attention. The car was conceptualized as a tribute to Louise Piëch’s 1974 911 Turbo prototype with distinctive tartan seats and matching tartan graphics that’s a regular fixture at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. The car is the result of a collaboration between Style Porsche, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, intended as a showcase of the wide capabilities of Porsche’s Sonderwunsch special wishes program.

The base car is painted GT Silver (gtsilbermetallic; metallic UNI; M7Z / U2; Porsche), including custom exterior decals matching an interior fitted with two-tone Lipstick Red and black with red and blue tartan fabric trim.

Below is the full item description provided by RM Sotheby’s. Below that is a full gallery of the car. Check out more information HERE.

    ADDENDUM

Please note this car is offered without registration papers, bidders should satisfy themselves as to registration requirements in their own jurisdiction. Please note that this lot is subject to VAT on the full purchase price (both on the Hammer Price and Buyer’s Premium).

Porsche lined up a particularly special 70th birthday present for Louise Piëch, daughter of company founder Ferdinand Porsche. To mark the occasion, on 29 August 1974, the factory gifted her a 911 Turbo prototype (chassis 9115600042). Even more special, this example of the first road-going 911 to feature forced induction was quite different from the final model that would enter production the following year. For starters, it was based around a narrow Carrera chassis rather than gaining the full-fat Turbo’s eventual and distinctive wide stance. In addition, a turbocharged 2.7-litre flat-six was initially installed rather than a 3-litre powerplant, plus the tachometer showed an ambitious red line of 10,000 rpm.

Finished in silver over a tartan interior, as chosen by Mrs Piëch, the prototype was completed at the Zuffenhausen factory on 17 July 1974. She evidently enjoyed driving “911 Turbo No. 1” greatly. Upon handing the car over to the Porsche Museum four years later, the odometer recorded nearly 32,000 kilometres from Mrs Piëch’s touring of continental motorways.

With 2024 marking 50 years since the original 930-generation 911 Turbo was revealed to the public at the Paris Motor Show in October 1974, Porsche fittingly commissioned the one-off ‘911 Turbo Exclusive Manufaktur’ offered here. Presented in GT Silver, this car is a loving modern-day interpretation of Mrs Piëch’s personal prototype. The stunning homage comes as a result of a collaboration between Style Porsche, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, and Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE in an exercise showcasing the Sonderwunsch request program, which provides bespoke customisation services to create unique special editions.

Unveiled at the Icons of Porsche festival held in Dubai in November 2023, this car is fitted with a host of Exclusive Manufaktur options. These include the Sport Design Package, which notably adds upturned tips for the rear wing, more pronounced side sills, and an aggressive restyling of the extended front bumper. Meanwhile, the side strakes and mirrors are painted to match the body colour. To authentically recreate the look of Mrs Piëch’s 1974 prototype, Style Porsche designers in Weissach have added the Austrian autobahn decal on the right-front wing. Porsche Classic also provided special permission for the script from the first-ever production 911 Turbo to be reused for the rear badge. The exterior configuration is capped off by black five-spoke wheels that hark back to the famous Fuchs alloy design.

With the Heritage Design Classic package selected, the interior features retro-style green illuminated dials for the tachometer and Sport Chrono dial. The upholstery for the remastered Turbo compromises two-tone Lipstick Red and black, while the seat centres and door cards are trimmed with red and blue tartan trim just as Mrs Piëch originally requested. Like the rear badging, the seats are capped off with original Turbo lettering embroidered into the headrest.

While the appearance is a clear tribute to Porsche’s past, the dynamics are at the leading edge. As a 992-generation 911 Turbo, the car boasts a 3,745-cc six-cylinder boxer engine enhanced by symmetrical turbochargers to deliver 580 PS. With that power transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed PDK transmission featuring an aluminium gear selector, the sprint to 100 km/h takes just 2.8 seconds while the top speed is 320 km/h. That considerable performance is accessed by unlocking the car with a bespoke dual-finish key that features the tartan pattern and GT Silver colours.

Registered in the United Arab Emirates and showing delivery use only, with the odometer displaying just 35 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, the sale of this 911 Turbo ‘Exclusive Manufaktur’ is particularly special. A seldom-offered opportunity to become the first owner of a one-off Porsche that celebrates 50 years of the manufacturer’s forced-induction flagship, here is an opportunity for marque enthusiasts and supercar collectors alike that’s not to be missed.

  • Color Check: Paint to Sample X Blue on Porsche 911 Turbo S Lightweight “000” Commission at Porsche Main Line

Color Check: Paint to Sample X Blue on Porsche 911 Turbo S Lightweight “000” Commission at Porsche Main Line

Porsche is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 911 Turbo this year, and 000 Magazine is doing the same this coming weekend with their Turbo 50 celebration at Summit Skywalker Ranch. Given that, it’s worth celebrating this X Blue 911 Turbo S owned by Drew Coblitz, purchased through Porsche Main Line. It is reportedly the first delivered 911 Turbo S “000 Commission” and was recently detailed more specifically by @PTSRS.

Given all that, let’s dig into the details. For starters, the X Blue (xblau; non-metallic UNI; Z91; Porsche) color is Paint to Sample and non-metallic. This blue is a modern blue formulation created for the 911 (992.1) Belgian Legends Edition created in 2020 to honor Jacky Ickx 75th birthday. It’s a solid blue that is reportedly darker than Dark Sea Blue and is offered on the 911 and Taycan. Given the Ickx association, it’s quite likely it also harks the dark blue of Rothman’s Racing liveries his Porsches wore in races such as the Paris-Dakar Rally or 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Side Note: @PTSRS has an interesting indexing format for paints seen here (name; type; code), and we’re going to adopt that with the addition of brand (name; type; code; brand) since we cover more than just Porsche. The intention is to adopt more universal standardization of paint code identity when we know the code and type. In this case, it’s (xblau; non-metallic UNI; Z91; Porsche).

Back to the 000 Commission specification, it’s based on an “off the menu” mix created to be built in conjunction with the a 911 Turbo S with factory Lightweight Package. From there, special wishes details were chosen along a theme celebrating David Donner‘s victory at the 100th Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb. In that race, Donner’s 9 minutes 53 second record run was performed in a 000 Magazine liveried 911 Turbo S #000. A creative mix of details and easter eggs thanks to ample deployment of Sonderwunsch services complete the specification.

@PTSRS inventories the Sonderwunsch details as such:

    • Laser-etched “000” on Front Bumper Grille as on Pikes Peak Winner
    • Exterior Mirrors in Carmine Red as on Pikes Peak Winner
    • “Peak 100” Logo Decals on Doors
    • 000 Decal under Rear Wing as on Pikes Peak Winner
    • Illuminated Door-Sill Guards in Matte Carbon with 000 Logo
    • Center Armrest embossed with Pikes Peak course map and “9:53”
    • Custom Dashboard Inlay denoting #000 911 Turbo S’s Class Win and PPIHC Certified Course Time
    • Derpy in the Fuel Cap

For a client to order an “000 Commission”, they must build from a 911 Turbo S Coupe allocation, adding the Lightweight Package, Full Bucket Seats or 18-way Sport Seats Plus, 20/21-inch 911 Turbo S Exclusive Design wheels, Wheel Inlays Painted High Gloss Black and Calipers in High Gloss Black.

From there, they can coordinate with their Porsche dealer to create a Sonderwunsch order with the factory. And while the “000 Commission” can be ordered on any color 911 Turbo S so-fitted, they’ll also need a Paint to Sample allocation if they wish to do special paint like the Coblitz X Blue car.

  • Market Find: CXX Noto Green Extended Leather Porsche GT3 RS Weissach

Market Find: CXX Noto Green Extended Leather Porsche GT3 RS Weissach

While wild colors may be much more prevalent due to a comparatively low cost and bigger effect, this is the kind of Tailored Driver that really gets us excited. The exterior of this Porsche 911 GT3 RS with Weissach Package (VIN:  WP0AF2A95KS165691)? It’s non-metallic black, a $0 option. Nothing to see here, keep moving along. But it’s what is going on inside that is reason for fixation.

There you’ll see $49,000 in CXX or Special Wishes tailoring, nearly every available surface covered in incredibly cool Noto Green leather. Currently on offer by Cabiglio Garage on Bring a Trailer showing just 2,500 miles, this GT3 RS carried an original MSRP of $301,760, representing what just may be the highest sticker’d (before Dealer markup) example sold stateside. While we’re speculating, we’ll also mention the reputation of the seller, known for marketing vehicles on behalf of Jerry Seinfeld, Spike Feresten Tom Hanks, and Paul Bettany. That fact, paired with the Santa Monica airport as image backdrop, means this may have been originally owned by a notable heavy-hitter in the LA car scene.

If you’re interested, better get your finances in order fast. The auction for this Tailored Driver ends this afternoon, and could break the $450,000 mark. Get all the details for this Porsche 911 GT3 RS Weissach, here.

  • Porsche 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special: Tribute to Historic Victory

Porsche 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special: Tribute to Historic Victory

Porsche honors its legendary automotive heritage with an extraordinary creation: the 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special. This one-of-a-kind vehicle commemorates the 70th anniversary of the official Porsche team’s historic participation in the first era of the Carrera Panamericana Mexico.

    [source: Porsche AG]

As the final piece of a special trilogy celebrating the brand’s success in this emblematic Mexican race, drawing inspiration from the iconic 550 Spyder, it will also be auctioned for charitable causes. As a perfect addition, TAG Heuer pays tribute to this legendary race through the release of the limited TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana.

    A one-of-a-kind vehicle

Porsche Latin America unveiled the 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special, a one-of-a-kind vehicle commemorating Porsche’s most significant success during the 1954 Carrera Panamericana Mexico. This edition is considered Porsche’s most successful among the brand’s three participations since 1952. Hans Herrmann, piloting a 550 Spyder, secured an impressive third place overall and clinched victory in the Sport category for cars up to 1500 cc. This remarkable achievement not only elevated Porsche’s status in global motorsport but also proved so memorable that—combined with the experiences of 1952 and 1953—it inspired the iconic “Carrera” naming.

Using the 718 Spyder RS as a foundation, Porsche aimed to recreate the spirit of the historic mid-engine 550 Spyder with its lightweight construction—the first vehicle specifically designed for racing that outperformed rivals with larger engines. A Porsche Latin America team, collaborating with Exclusive Manufaktur experts at Porsche’s headquarters in Germany, developed this model. Their joint effort completed a trilogy of cars created through Sonderwunsch, Porsche’s exclusive personalization program. This trilogy celebrates the 70th anniversary of three remarkable Porsche participations in the Carrera Panamericana.

“From the beginning to the modern era, La Carrera Panamericana Mexico is far more than a competition for Porsche. One only needs to look at the 911 Carrera or the Panamera—both named to honor the events that unfolded here in Mexico 70 years ago. The Sonderwunsch Inspiration cars represent exceptionally special projects, and Mexico was entrusted with three consecutive ones: the 911 Carrera Panamericana Special, the twin 718 Cayman GT4 RS Carrera Panamericana Specials, and this year’s 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special”, said Tobias Eninger, CEO and President of Porsche Latin America. “The latter celebrates the legendary 550 Spyder, with which Hans Herrmann achieved remarkable feats. Each car commemorates a successful moment that individually resonated through the years, but collectively, transformed Porsche into an iconic brand.”

    Celebrating Porsche’s Success in Mexico

In 1954, during the final edition of “golden era” of the Carrera Panamericana Mexico, Porsche cemented its legacy in this legendary rally. The brand achieved its best result to date, showcasing the exceptional capabilities of its sports cars in one of the most grueling races in those times. Porsche fielded a team of four official 550 Spyders, driven by an international quartet: Mexico’s Salvador López Chávez, Argentina’s Fernando Segura, Guatemala’s Jaroslav Juhan, and Germany’s Hans Herrmann. The race spanned five intense days, covering over 3,000 kilometers from the southern Mexican Border at Tuxtla Gutiérrez in the state of Chiapas, to the northern border at Ciudad Juárez in the state of Chihuahua.

The Porsche 550 Spyder featured the first race use of the 1500 cc four-camshaft engine, which was groundbreaking technology for its time. Combined with the lightweight aluminum bodywork, this engine enabled the car to reach speeds exceeding 200 km/h, allowing it to outperform heavier vehicles with engines more than three times its size. This victory was not just Porsche’s first as an official team; it also led to the Fuhrmann engine being dubbed the “Carrera Engine” and later inspired the name of Porsche’s most exclusive model line.

Completing the trilogy: the new Porsche 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special

The Porsche 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special, distinguishes itself through aesthetic enhancements, exclusive equipment, and historical nods. Centenaire silver adorns nearly all aerodynamic elements, including the carbon fiber components from the Weissach package. This striking color extends from the NACA ducts on the front, through the fascia and lower air intakes, to the rear spoiler in Gurney Flap format. The Magnesium wheels are complemented by high-gloss black ceramic composite brake calipers (PCCB), offering a contemporary twist.
