Porsche x Ferragamo Collaborate for Special Edition 911 and Taycan

Porsche and the heritage Italian brand Ferragamo are known for timeless design, authentic craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and uncompromising quality. The two companies have joined forces to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Porsche Italia.

Porsche Italia is launching two special-edition models created in collaboration with Ferragamo, which are based on the 911 Carrera 4 GTS and Taycan 4S. In the style of the fashion brand, the experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur have elaborately refined both the exterior and the interior of the two iconic sports cars. A standout highlight is Blusogno – a special colour inspired by a Ferragamo collection. This shade also features in the interior, and, in combination with the blue Paldao wood décor, conveys a subtle elegance. The special-edition models are available in limited numbers exclusively for the Italian market.

Ferregamo and Porsche are inspired by the same vision

Both pioneers made their dreams come true, laying the foundation for a success story that continues to this day. Salvatore Ferragamo became famous in Hollywood by custom-making shoes for movie stars. In 1927, the ‘shoemaker of dreams’, as he was known, returned to his homeland and settled near Florence. And in 1948, Ferry Porsche realised his dream of building a sports car with the 356 ‘No. 1’ Roadster. This model marked the beginning of a strong brand with products that are still highly sought after today.

“Our dream was to create something truly unique that embodies the spirit that has guided us for the past 40 years: Porsche style combined with Italian culture and aesthetics. That’s why we chose Ferragamo as a partner for this project – a brand with which we share values such as excellence of craftsmanship, timeless elegance and a tireless attention to detail,” says Pietro Innocenti, CEO of Porsche Italia. “The collaboration with Ferragamo and the team at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in Zuffenhausen has enabled us to implement this vision in a way that is both authentic and forward-looking. These values will continue to inspire and guide us in the future.”

“When Porsche asked Ferragamo to contribute to this anniversary, the main idea was to change as little as possible and focus on refined details. Because Porsche is already perfect,” says Leonardo Ferragamo, Chairman of Salvatore Ferragamo. “The aim of this collaboration was to create an authentic and meaningful synergy between two iconic brands that both share the same values: design, excellence, craftsmanship and the courage to innovate. We wanted to tell an emotive story rooted in the idea of dreaming. My father Salvatore was known as ‘the shoemaker of dreams’, while Porsche continues to be driven by dreams.”

The collaboration: a close exchange between the two brands

“Both Porsche and Ferragamo are characterised by a signature design that is of timeless elegance. We have taken this minimalist, purist approach to the extreme with the ’40 Anni Porsche Italia’ models,” says Grant Larson, Director Special Projects Design at Porsche. “Salvatore Ferragamo experimented a lot with unusual natural materials,” the designer continues. “This encouraged us to take unusual paths in the interior and to dye the Paldao wood blue – a novelty for us at Porsche that emphasises the understated character of these limited-edition models.”

Both design teams were in close contact with each other during the project. The Ferragamo team travelled to Zuffenhausen, and the Porsche and Porsche Italia team were guests in Florence. The perfect Blusogno shade was developed using leather and fabric samples from Ferragamo’s iconic shoulder bag and signature fashion pieces.

The exterior: Blusogno paintwork with white fine lines

Through its Paint to Sample Plus programme, Porsche offers customers the opportunity to create completely individual colours for their cars. Blusogno was developed as a special colour exclusively for this special edition. Thin, precise lines – known as fine lines – add an accent that conveys elegance and dynamism. These white fine lines, inspired by Ferragamo design elements, are mounted on the front lid and rear spoiler and elegantly follow the flow of air over and around the car.

Both B-pillars bear a commemorative plaque with a prominent ‘40’, the years 1985 and 2025 and the words ‘Porsche’ and ‘Italia’ – in tribute to Porsche Italia’s 40th anniversary. All these elements are raised slightly so that they can be felt across the surface.

The wheels have been painted in Blusogno and finished with white, hand-painted pinstripes. The wheel hub cover also bears the exclusive blue colour, which forms a striking contrast to the red Porsche crest. At the rear, the model lettering is painted by hand in white and outlined in Blusogno, which gives the overall design an almost noble, harmonious touch.

The interior: Blusogno leather with blue Paldao wood trim

Blusogno also features heavily inside the car. Leather and yarn were developed and produced especially for the project in this special colour. The front and rear seats, the GT sports steering wheel and details on the centre console are upholstered in Blusogno leather. Modern Pebble Grey piping on the seats and the corresponding 12 o’clock marking on the GT sports steering wheel pick up on the bright accents of the exterior. The car’s document folder and key pouch are also made of Blusogno leather. In the 911, the gear lever is covered with Blusogno leather on the sides. Red trim strips on the storage compartments and in the trunk provide a contrast.

The dashboard and centre console of the 911 as well as the door mirrors of the Taycan are finished with Paldao wood in the exclusive Blusogno colour too. The large wooden surfaces in the door panels are divided by colour: the upper part in blue, the lower part in elegant black. In the 911, an aluminium inlay with a ‘40 Anni Porsche Italia’ logo further enhances the dashboard on the passenger side. In the Taycan, this logo is affixed to a special plaque in the centre console. A white illuminated Ferragamo logo is integrated into the door sill guards, which are made of black brushed aluminium.

The SportChrono clock at the top of the dashboard has a bespoke dial that plays with the colours of the Italian Tricolour in a subtly elegant way: the rings are green, white and red, and the second hand is red.

The sides of the vehicle key are painted in Blusogno. The edition also includes a custom-made indoor ca cover in the same colour with white piping, a coloured Porsche crest on the front, and white Ferragamo lettering on the sides.

    Mileage: 17,882
    Price: $84,991

We’ve asked the question time and time again. Does a car artfully built from the standard options list count as tailored? I’d argue they do, and there’s an art to creating something truly unique within the confines of those options. By these criteria, I’d argue this Taycan Cross Turismo 4S is tailored.

The color is a standard one and known as Cherry Metallic. On the inside, it’s paired with Porsche’s Olea Leather option package, one that in this case includes rare Truffle Brown leather that pairs excellently with the exterior color.

Another rare option list choice is color-matching the wheels. Back in the 1980s, color-matched Fuchs on a G-body 911 was a popular option and thus the look became distinctively Porsche. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen those 5-spoke alloys color-matched to a Taycan, but we can’t remember ever seeing it done in Cherry Metallic.

One last thing, this is a late model electric car, meaning it succumbs to a heavy level of depreciation. In as much, lightly used examples make for an excellent buy. Priced at $84,991, it’s well below its original window sticker price.

There’s a term “buy it built”. The idea is to let someone else build a car that you then swoop in and purchase once it’s resold as cars inevitably do. Case in point is this Taycan GTS Sport Turismo, ordered in a very unique specification, slightly modified and now for sale with not even 5,000 miles on the odometer.

The build itself from Porsche is Paint to Sample Nato Olive paired with Olea Club Leather in Truffle Brown. That’s already handsome, and is said to have run $167,200 on the original window sticker.

In addition to that, the car also has PPF and a ceramic window tint in order to help protect it. Also, it’s got a supposedly one-off set of ANRKY wheels with color-matched accents. And while an aftermarket wheel set might be hit or miss in the tailored market space, these are worth noting for their rear turbofan look that seems to mimic the Manthey Racing look being applied to many Porsche GT cars.

    Why we love it:

We’d be lying if we didn’t admit that the Taycan 4S is a fairly interesting proposition. Decent range and (we think) great looks and astonishing speed are certainly the highlights, but this Tailored Driver package is rounded out nicely by Porsche’s Paint to Sample Club Blue. Most famously used to commemorate 60 years of the Porsche Club of America, Club Blue lands somewhere between Shark Blue and Nogaro Blue on the Rennbow, but the differences between the three are quite subtle.

  • Market Find: 2023 Porsche Paint to Sample Racing Green Taycan GTS Sport Turismo

Market Find: 2023 Porsche Paint to Sample Racing Green Taycan GTS Sport Turismo

In recent months it seems Aston Martin’s Racing Green is just as common on Porsche models as it is on Astons. Potentially a result of sheer volume, but we frankly dig the color and if you squint hard enough, you can see a clear parallel between Racing Green (racinggrünmetallic; metallic UNI; Y68; Porsche) and Porsche’s Wimbeldon Green which was commonly found on the 964-era 911. Call it a win-win.

Found on Bring a Trailer, this 2023 Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo (VIN: WP0CD2Y16PSA90170) features the aforementioned Racing Green paint to sample finish (Color Code: Y68) over Chalk leather, resulting an incredibly handsome combination.

If you’re as smitten as we are, act fast- this auction ends in just a few short hours. Get all the details in teh full Bring a Trailer listing, here.

  • Color Check: Purple Sky Metallic Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package

Color Check: Purple Sky Metallic Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach Package

Back in July, Porsche shared PR images of the Taycan Turbo GT rocking the Weissach Package, presented in Purple Sky Metallic (not to be confused with Prince’s “Purple Rain,” but we can see the connection), and boy, is this a wild color.

A few months later, we got to see it in person at the Quail Events during Monterey Car Week 2024. Purple Sky Metallic seems to be a new color for Porsche, as we haven’t seen it before on any other model. How would we describe it? Majestic, unicorn-like, dynamic, and, of course, very purple. Lighting certainly has an effect on this shade of purple, as the color can shift from a bright purple to a dark blue.

Although Purple Sky Metallic is not a PTS color, Porsche lists it as a “Dreams” color when you’re ordering your Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach Package. If you’re not going PTS, this would be the way to go.

Check out the gallery below for more photos, and let us know your thoughts on the new purple from Porsche!

  • Porsche Taycan Celestial Jade with Specification Inspired by Gemstone for Southeast Asia

Porsche Taycan Celestial Jade with Specification Inspired by Gemstone for Southeast Asia

Porsche has released details on a Taycan Turbo S one-off for Southeast Asian markets that has some pretty unique flair. It also reveals new capabilities for their Paint to Sample program, and confirms Leather to Sample and beyond that a significantly expanded Sonderwunsch program for Taycan models.

Inspiration for the car comes from Jade, and the paint shows off a first-ever pairing of Chromaflair paint and a gradient shift. The gradient shift is sort of like Cannondale mountain bike frames in the 1990s that shifted one color to another front to back. Here though, it’s at a much higher level of time and skill invested.

For starters, both colors are Chromaflair, meaning thin flakes that shift in color. The two paints in question are the green/gold hue of Urban Bamboo and dark grey/blue hue of Shifting Carbon. Applying it with that shift is about 80 hours of work.

Inside, the cabin is also extensively reworked, with Englishgreen and Slate Grey leather, not to mention a few other touches and unique logo icon to set the Celestial Jade apart.

See the full detail in the press release below, with gallery of photos below that.

PRESS RELEASE: Inspired by the precious gemstone jade: Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade

    • World premiere in Singapore at regional Taycan launch
    • Unique look: first-ever Chromaflair paintwork with colour gradient
    • Elegance: varnished carbon-weave elements and “Leather to Sample”
    • Unique logo created to pay homage to vibrant Southeast Asian region

Stuttgart/Singapur. Fascinating metamorphosis: In the depths of the Earth, a miraculous transformation takes place that produces the precious gemstone of jade. Over thousands of years, minerals in the Earth’s crust heat up and are subjected to great pressure before they crystallise and fuse together. Minor changes in temperature or pressure leave their mark on the rock, creating patterns of green, yellow, gold, white, and sometimes blue. This unique journey from their mineral origins to master artisans, from multi-faceted natural stone to jewellery, is the foundation of the timeless appeal of jade.

Inspired by this precious gemstone, the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, an extraordinary one-off, was created through the Sonderwunsch programme. Together with the Porsche Asia Pacific team, the designers and paint experts at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur sought to reflect the vibrance and innovation of the Southeast Asia in their own craftsmanship, paying tribute to this important region with bespoke touches and mythical symbols.

The Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade will celebrate its world premiere at a spectacular Taycan regional launch event on 5 September in Singapore. From there, the one-off model will go on display in various locations in Southeast Asia before being auctioned off for a good cause in 2025.

This Sonderwunsch production is based on the extensively upgraded Taycan of model year 2024. The new versions have more power, more range, accelerate quicker and charge faster with greater stability. The Turbo S has up to 700 kW (952 PS) peak power¹ with Launch Control and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, making it 0.4 seconds faster than its predecessor.

World premiere: elaborate Chromaflair paintwork with colour gradient
For the first time ever, in the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, Porsche has blended two Chromaflair effect paints. The preparation and implementation phases for this were both very elaborate, with development taking around a year. The paintwork itself was done exclusively by hand and took around 80 work hours.

Chromaflair pigments contain extremely thin “flakes” that appear to shift in colour depending on how you look at them. These flakes consist of an opaque, reflective core layer of aluminium, which is then surrounded by a glass-like layer. This transparent layer looks different colours depending on the thickness. All together the flakes are only 1 µm thick. By comparison, human hair is 50 times thicker than this. This gradient paint isn’t just found on the body of the Sonderwunsch Taycan: the rear model designation, the “Electric” logo on the side and the key fob cover also have this impressive finish.

“Urban Bamboo”, a bright green with yellow and gold tones, and “Shifting Carbon”, a dark grey with black and blue tones, were chosen as the colour combination. It culminates in the transcendent name of the vehicle: Celestial Jade. Especially in Asia, jade is a noble and precious material that is rich in tradition and associated with happiness and longevity. Carbon, by contrast, symbolises the pioneering spirit of Porsche. This innovative and powerful colour is often seen in the world of motor racing. The material is robust, light and durable.

Bespoke logo with symbolic power, special carbon-weave finish components
In addition to the spectacular Chromaflair exterior paintwork, the one-off car features a specially designed logo in several places. The logo is inspired by “LongMa”, a mythical being with a dragon’s head (“Long”) and the body of a horse (“Ma”) said to be of great power and strength, and an auspicious symbol bringing good luck. The motif is also adds a layer of meaningful symbolism to the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, since 2024 is also the chinese Zodiac Year of the Dragon, and the horse reflects the Taycan, with Turkish origins meaning a ‘Young Horse’. The “LongMa” logo on the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade can be seen on the sill guards of the front and rear doors, on the door projector and all headrests.

Another highlight, designed to match the Chromaflair paintwork, is the carbon-weave finish components in varnished Carbon. These replace the standard Turbonite-coloured inlays on the front bumper, on the side skirts and on the rear diffuser. The airblades on the wheels are also made from this special, hand-crafted material. The varnish allows the carbon-fibre compound to shine through. Depending on the angle you look at it from, the surface shimmers in different hues.

“Leather to Sample” now also available for the Taycan
In addition to the ten leather and 15 seam colours that Porsche offers as standard for the Taycan, “Leather to Sample” is now also available for this model series via the Sonderwunsch programme. This further customisation option celebrates its premiere with the Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade. The interior specialists from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur have combined the standard colour Slate Grey with the “Leather to Sample” option Englishgreen. This elegant, dark green can be found in the doors, the centre console and the front and rear seats. In addition to Englishgreen, the “Leather to Sample” programme includes around 150 colours.

For especially individual requests, Porsche goes a step further: with “Leather to Sample Plus”, the colour can be chosen almost entirely freely. Inquiries can be made through the Porsche Centres, and the experts at Porsche AG will then check the feasibility.

    About the Sonderwunsch programme
Porsche is reinterpreting its legendary Sonderwunsch programme from the late 1970s, which will enable it to design individualised, one-off cars – co-created by the customer and professionally produced by Porsche. The offering has now been expanded. In addition to the ability to commission individual customer colour and material requests directly in production at the factory, this expansion also includes subsequent Factory Re-Commissioning and Factory One-Off services for vehicles that have already been delivered to the customer.

Customers can contact their Porsche Centre for customisations on new cars. If the request is beyond the bounds of what the Car Configurator can offer, the Sonderwunsch process kicks into gear with an arranged personal customer consultation at Zuffenhausen or one of the international locations, such as Atlanta or Los Angeles. Here, experts from the manufacturer evaluate individual customer requests and take care of the technical approval for the relevant Factory Commissioning area. Typical Sonderwunsch features range from leather in the luggage compartment to painting the whole exterior in multiple colours using different types of paint surface technology.

  • Market Find: Paint to Sample Porsche Taycan in Underberg Green

Market Find: Paint to Sample Porsche Taycan in Underberg Green

Though EVs are far from traditional and the debate of the ubiquitousness of their future is never ending, we find the tradition of PTS carrying over to electric Porsches like the Taycan to be undebatable. Take for example this MY2023 Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo (VIN: WP0CD2Y1XPSA90074) in classic Underberg Green found over at Porsche Sugar Land.

We see Underberg Green regularly amongst the many green Paint to Sample Porsches that cross our news desk, and for good reason. The legend goes (via @PTSRS) that the origins of the color tend to be attributed to the Underberg family who both owned the Underberg brand of German digestif bitter and the cars they may or may not have ordered in that color… and apparently they were more of a Mercedes-Benz owning clan.

Whatever the case, the color starts showing up on Porsche models during the 991 era and has since enjoyed a lot of followers for its handsome non-metallic dark green that sometimes gets mistaken for Irish Green.

In this case, it’s been sprayed on a now Certified Pre-Owned Taycan GTS long roof with about 15,000 miles on it. If you’re looking for a unique wagon and at the same time are EV curious, this car may very well be for you.

That link again is HERE at Porsche Sugar Land. Find more photos and info about the car there.
